Today’s guest is Sarah Wright, who is a mother of a neurodiverse child who has spent time advocating and navigating both the public and independent school system. She is an experienced and heartfelt leader in the equity and education industry with with expertise in curriculum development as well as the design and implementation of equity and inclusion strategies. She is highly skilled, talented, and passionate about working with young people. Wright received her Master of Arts in Education from the University of California at Berkeley; she received her Bachelor of Science in Human Ecology from Ohio State University. Among her specialized training and certifications, Wright has attended the NAIS School Leadership Institute, as well as the Multicultural Leadership Institute. Additionally, she is certified in the Yoshimoto Orton-Gillingham reading method, has obtained Multiple Subject Teaching Credentials (K-5) and Preliminary Multiple Subject Teaching Credentials (K-6). She is an experienced facilitator in diversity and equity issues, and has more than 100 hours of professional development in working with gifted and exceptional children. Sarah was also part of the team who cultivated the Logan Learning Lab (an enrichment program for community children in kindergarten- 2nd grade located in Denver, Colorado) has been a source of pride. It allowed us to used more inclusive ways of identifying neurodiverse students who may have otherwise been gone mislabeled or unidentified. Sarah shares her story of being both a teacher and a student (metaphorically speaking) in the world of neurodiversity as she experiences twice exceptionality with her oldest child.
