The Power of Retreats and Intentional Self-Care

The Power of Retreats and Intentional Self-Care
When was the last time someone poured into you... instead of you doing all the pouring? In this episode of Candid Coach Conversations, certified Live Life Fully coaches Mai Lee Eskelund and Shunta Montgomery take over the mic from Kimberly Boyd... and use it to pull back the curtain on the Live Life Fully retreats: how they came to be, what actually happens inside one, and the case for taking care of yourself before you take care of everyone else. Shunta traces her path from wanting to be a motivational speaker before she even knew conferences existed, to presenting in her counseling supervision hours because her coach nudged her, to her first real stage... the homeless shelter where her mom went from resident to kitchen manager. She showed up dressed as an airplane captain, handed out passports, and welcomed everyone aboard Self-Love Flight 101. Then, at Kimberly's very first "When Life Gives You Lemons, Make Lemonade" retreat, she made a bold declaration out loud... that she'd be speaking at the next one. Five retreats later, she hasn't left the stage: sun goddess, butterfly, boxer, lighthouse keeper, each costume carrying its own message. Mai Lee shares her side too... how her own first retreat, not long after she landed in the Houston area, sent her home asking how she could help create that experience for others, and what her military background taught her watching infantrymen who scoffed at the idea of feelings walk out of retreats with greater insight and connection. Together they preview what an attendee actually gets... three to six speakers, somatic exercises, a sneak peek at silent retreats... and the details on Planting Seeds for 2027, coming October 3. In this conversation: βοΈ Self-Love Flight 101... a captain's uniform, passports at the door, and a first stage at the shelter that helped Shunta's mom rebuild her life π£οΈ The bold declaration Shunta made out loud at her first LLF retreat... and the five retreat stages it has put her on since π₯ Me versus me: the boxer costume, the blame we hand to the past and the bosses, and the moment control comes back to you ποΈ What Mai Lee watched retreats unlock in big infantrymen who scoffed at the idea of feelings π€« Eight silent hours, one adult coloring sheet, and the silent-retreat sneak peek coming to Live Life Fully π± Reset, refocus, recharge... what an attendee really walks away with, and what's planned for Planting Seeds for 2027 One line from Shunta worth sitting with: "If you don't start taking care of yourself first, you won't be there to help and take care of others." π± Planting Seeds for 2027 happens October 3, and early bird pricing is still open. Save your seat here: About Shunta Montgomery Shunta is a certified Live Life Fully coach and speaker who has always believed she was built for greatness... and that greatness starts with taking care of you. She began speaking during her counseling supervision hours, took her first stage at the shelter that poured into her mom, and has since spoken at five Live Life Fully retreats, always in full costume and always with a surprise no one sees until the day of. Her message stays the same in every room: you are important, and you matter. Reframe Your Self-Talk for Greater Joy

Reframe Your Self-Talk for Greater Joy
What if the words you say to yourself are the ones your brain believes most? In this episode of Candid Coach Conversations, Kimberly Boyd sits down with Tiffanie Hughes... certified Live Life Fully coach, and creator of the RE:YOU framework... to talk about the quiet phrases we repeat to ourselves all day long, and how rewording them changes what we believe, what we do, and how much joy we let in. Tiffanie hears it from the couch, the phone, and the Zoom screen: "I'm so stupid." "I can't." "I'm just tired." And she rewords it in real time. "I can't clean the house" becomes "I'm choosing not to clean the house right now, because other things matter more." "I'm stupid" becomes "I didn't know... yet." She shares the sock she never perfected when she was learning to knit (and the really good scarf she did make), the conversation with her sister that taught her the word "safe" isn't actually safe, and the rose garden she planted by scent instead of color... because for what purpose would she grow flowers she can't smell? Along the way, she and Kimberly explore how "I am tired" quietly becomes an identity and how "I feel tired" hands it back. In this conversation: π£οΈ The two little words Tiffanie won't let stand... "I can't"... and the rewording that gives you back ownership π§Ά The imperfect sock that ended her knitting days... and the lesson she walked away with instead of "failure." π§ "I am tired" vs. "I feel tired"... your brain is always listening, and it believes what you tell it ποΈ The reason "safe" isn't safe... and how calm and peace can be practiced anywhere, even a crowded subway πΉ A garden of roses chosen by scent, not color... and picking Estonia over Hungary for the raw, untainted experience π¬ Her one-word takeaway... perspective (yes, like Ratatouille): if the lens is muddy, wipe it off One line from Tiffanie worth sitting with: "It is the lens in which you're choosing to see through. And if you have a muddy lens, all you gotta do is wipe it off." About Tiffanie Hughes Tiffanie is a certified Live Life Fully coach who helps people notice the words they live by... and choose better ones. She is the creator of RE:YOU β Reclaim Your Identity. How Clarity and Agency Transform Your Life

How Clarity and Agency Transform Your Life
What if the freedom you've been missing is simply a new choice you haven't made yet? In this episode of Candid Coach Conversations, Kimberly Boyd sits down with Amanda Kaufman... certified Live Life Fully coach, entrepreneur, and Business Mentor at Live Life Fully... to talk about how clarity and agency transform your life. It opens with a storm. Kimberly's house was full for Meredith's birthday... every bed taken, cots bought, forty-two made-to-order sandwiches and nine hundred bags of chips loaded onto a borrowed boat headed for Pine Island (theirs quit on the Fourth of July, and a kind friend handed over his). Then the radar missed by a couple of hours and the rain came down so hard it felt like hail... until the sun popped out like nothing had happened. Which is exactly where the conversation lands: you can't control the storm. You can control your intention inside it. From there, Amanda traces her own road out of corporate America... the broad early intentions, the clarity that only showed up once she got moving, and the skills gap that kept her waiting until she stopped picturing the Law & Order version of starting a business. No judge, no fancy lawyer... just an online filing she finished in forty-five minutes while breastfeeding her baby, who's nine now. She and Kimberly dig into OPOs (other people's opinions), the difference between intention and certainty, and the sandwich she eats before believing a single stuck thought. In this conversation: βοΈ Forty-two made-to-order sandwiches, a borrowed boat, and the storm that crashed Meredith's birthday... again βοΈ The Law & Order version of starting a business Amanda imagined... and the forty-five-minute filing she actually did, baby in arms πΌ "Everyone who ever makes money is in business"... some of us just sell all of our hours to one buyer π£οΈ OPOs... other people's opinions, the operating system most of us never chose for ourselves π₯ͺ Amanda's favorite move on a no-options day: eat a sandwich first, because sometimes the problem is physiological π Agency, honoring the struggle, and being CEO of your life even inside rules you didn't write One line from Amanda worth sitting with: "You do have freedom, and that freedom is to make a new choice." About Amanda Kaufman Amanda is a certified Live Life Fully coach, entrepreneur, and Business Mentor at Live Life Fully. After a long corporate career, she chose the entrepreneurial road and now helps people close the gap between the life they're tolerating and the life they'd pick on purpose... starting with clarity, agency, and one doable first step. How to Turn Fear into Fuel and Live Fully

How to Turn Fear into Fuel and Live Fully
What if the life you keep postponing only needs the next ten minutes to begin? In this episode of Candid Coach Conversations, Kimberly Boyd sits down with Savannah Burke... certified Live Life Fully coach, weekly newsletter writer, and returning guest... to talk about how to stop waiting to be ready and start using fear as fuel. Savannah knows every reason to wait. Until the hair is right. Until the skin is clearer. Until she's down X amount of pounds. Then she realized she'd be waiting for the rest of her life to begin... so she did the first thing. She started sending a weekly newsletter every Wednesday and scheduling it to Facebook, and the feedback came from people she never knew were reading... like her husband's cousin, who'd quietly looked at her daily affirmations every single day without ever leaving a comment. And after losing four people in eight months, the grief newsletter she finally dared to share broke the dam... readers reached out with their own stories, and what she feared would be embarrassing became a meeting of the hearts. From there, she and Kimberly get wonderfully practical: the garage Savannah had to clear before Monday's battery install, tackled with a ten-minute timer that turned into another ten, then fifteens... the three finds she listed on Facebook (one already sold)... Kimberly's confession that "wash, dry, and fold all at once or not at all" was quietly costing her a whole day within the day... and the fourteen-day trip to Germany that Savannah and her husband booked without waiting to feel ready, because their favorite band was touring one last time. In this conversation: π¨ The weekly Wednesday newsletter Savannah almost never sent... and the cousin who'd been reading every post without saying a word π The grief newsletter that broke the dam after losing four people in eight months... and turned strangers into a meeting of the hearts β²οΈ The ten-minute garage timer that grew into a full cleanout, three Facebook listings, and one item already sold π§Ί Kimberly's laundry confession... how "all at once or not at all" thinking was stealing a whole day out of her week π§ Analysis paralysis, the shame it drags in behind it, and Savannah's decision to carry neither one anymore βοΈ Fourteen days in Germany for their favorite band's final tour... booked the moment they decided, not the moment they felt ready One line from Savannah worth sitting with: "Nobody's guaranteed a tomorrow. Now is the time to do it. And if it doesn't all get done, it will still be there." About Savannah Burke Savannah is a certified Live Life Fully coach who believes the first step matters more than the perfect plan. Every Wednesday she sends out her newsletter... a little bit of her, a little bit of wisdom... and she coaches from the middle of a real life: a garage mid-cleanout, a grief still tender, a timer set for ten minutes. This is her second visit to Candid Coach Conversations, and she came back with even more to give. The Power of Purpose: How 'The Table' Transforms Stories of Pain

The Power of Purpose: How 'The Table' Transforms Stories of Pain
What if the story that broke you is the same story that's waiting to become your purpose? In this episode of Candid Coach Conversations, Kimberly Boyd sits down with Teresa Anderson... licensed professional counselor, trauma therapist, certified Live Life Fully coach, and published author... to talk about The Table, her new book where seven women meet the hardest parts of their stories and choose who they're going to become. It starts at a GrowthDay event. On the last day, Ed Mylett tells the room that all their purpose and God-given beauty is sitting in a notebook, a laptop... or a grave, never to be known or noticed. Teresa had the book in a notebook. In three different breakout groups that day, three different people told her the same thing: "That gave me chills." She left before the event ended, cried her way to the airport, started writing on the plane, and got home to pull out years of journals and piece it all together. The name came from her years as a trauma therapist, sitting with people in the hardest moments of their lives and hearing the same question... "Will I ever be myself again?" The table is her answer: the meeting place between deep pain and fragmentation on one side, and the purpose-driven, living-life-fully version of yourself on the other. She and Kimberly walk through the seven women who gather there... whimsical 12-year-old Firefly, thinking about Cheetos and hot sauce, who can't yet see how magical she is... and Rebel, Teresa's favorite, who won't let you judge her any harder than she's already judging herself. In this conversation: π€ The Ed Mylett line at GrowthDay... purpose "sitting in a notebook... or sitting in a grave"... that sent Teresa straight to the airport βοΈ Writing on the plane, then pulling years of journals together to build the book that wouldn't wait πͺ The question every trauma client asks... "Will I ever be myself again?"... and how it became the table π§ Firefly, the 12-year-old wondering how to get to a magical dinner, who knows the pain and the rules but not her own wonder π₯ Rebel, the grit that got Teresa through her own story... and how grit transforms into grace π The elephant image: six women lined up behind Firefly, saying "We're here and we've got you" One line from Teresa worth sitting with: "Your pain may be a part of your story, but it was never meant to become your identity." About Teresa Anderson: Teresa is a licensed professional counselor, trauma therapist, certified Live Life Fully coach, and published author who has sat with people in the deepest, darkest moments of their lives... and she's not afraid of what you've been through. Her new book, The Table, invites readers to a beautiful refuge where seven women meet their fragmentation and choose their future, with a companion workbook for therapists and readers on the way. How Coaching Gave Me My Voice and Changed My Life

How Coaching Gave Me My Voice and Changed My Life
What would change if you truly believed you get to decide how you're treated, how you show up, and who gets to stay? In this episode of Candid Coach Conversations, Kimberly Boyd sits down with ShuntΓ‘ Montgomery... Certified Live Life Fully coach... to talk about the reason personal growth is so deeply personal, and how coaching gave her back her voice. ShuntΓ‘'s tipping point came right after she finished her hours for her LPC. Standing in the space of "what next?", always believing she was made for more and built for greatness, she watched Kimberly carry herself with a happiness and confidence she wanted for her own life... and then came the day in supervision when Kimberly had her stand up in a Wonder Woman pose and make it a little more bold, a little more loud. From there, the story deepens. With her husband's blessing, ShuntΓ‘ shares what coaching unlocked for a woman who grew up around addiction and abuse and never had a voice: the boundary she set in her marriage of eleven years, the two years she and her son lived apart from her husband while they each did their own work, and the recent move back home... not sunshine and rainbows, but arguments held with respect. In this conversation: π¦Έ The Wonder Woman pose in supervision... and the instruction that changed everything: a little more bold, a little more loud π£οΈ The story her husband encouraged her to share: how coaching gave ShuntΓ‘ her voice after a lifetime of not having one πͺ The boundary that meant packing up her son, living apart for two years, and coming back home on new terms π The ripple effects of growth: friends who weeded themselves out, a schedule she actually keeps, and a son who now sparks conversations with strangers β° The six o'clock alarm that reminds her to be positive, present, and purposeful... and the nightly reflection that goes with it π Tracking progress by counting apologies, and the difference between mastering something and perfecting it One line from ShuntΓ‘ worth sitting with: "Coaching helped me have my voice and realize that I matter, I have a say, and that I don't have to take things that I don't want to take. I get to decide how I want to live my life, how I want to show up, and who I want around me." About ShuntΓ‘ Montgomery ShuntΓ‘ is a certified Live Life Fully coach who knows firsthand what it takes to find your voice and use it. Her work meets people in the gap between accepting what they never wanted and deciding what they will no longer take... helping them set healthy boundaries, quiet the inner battle, and build a life around their own values. Unlocking Your True Self
Unlocking Your True Self | Tiffanie Hughes on the Re-U Framework, Identity & Trusting Your Gut What happens to the woman underneath the mother, the wife, the daughter, and the reliable one who always says yes? In this episode of Candid Coach Conversations, Kimberly Boyd sits down with Tiffanie Hughes... trauma-informed therapist, EMDR-trained clinician, and certified Live Life Fully coach... to talk about Re-U, the six-step framework she built to help people find their way back to who they actually are. Tiffanie is days away from presenting Re-U in London, and she walks Kimberly through all six steps: awareness, adaptation, identity, intuition, intention, and integration. She uses the small, real moments to make it land... the "yes, of course" that leaps out before you've checked whether you have the time, the boss who wants you to stay late (and doesn't actually need you to), the deer on an Iowa road that taught her our instinct to brake isn't always the safe one. She gets honest about the year she was 26, caring for her grandmother after a stroke, drowning in a role she thought she had to carry... until she realized she didn't have to, and chose differently. That's the whole point of Re-U: not someone handing you answers, but a slow, structured way to notice when you've stopped living as yourself, and a path back. In this conversation: π§ The six steps of Re-U: awareness, adaptation, identity, intuition, intention, integration π Awareness first: catching the "yes, of course" before your body has finished saying no π¦ The deer on the Iowa road... how we adapt to safety rules that aren't actually safe π Italian food, one bad meal, and the slow way we hand our choices to someone else π Caring for her grandmother at 26, drowning in a role, and choosing differently βΈοΈ Integration: the pause that turns "yes, of course" into "let me get back to you" One line from Tiffanie worth sitting with: "Without awareness, everything else falls apart." About Tiffanie Hughes Tiffanie is a trauma-informed therapist, EMDR-trained clinician, and certified Live Life Fully coach, and the creator of the Re-U framework... a six-step method for noticing when you've drifted from yourself and finding the way back to your true identity. Courage First, Confidence Comes Later

Courage First, Confidence Comes Later
Courage First, Confidence Comes Later | Amanda Kaufman on Fear, Self-Talk & Taking the Leap What if you've had the order backwards, and courage was never something you needed to feel confident to begin? In this episode of Candid Coach Conversations, Kimberly Boyd sits down with Amanda Kaufman... certified Live Life Fully coach, entrepreneur, and dear friend... to talk about courage as the prerequisite ingredient, and confidence as the thing you only ever see in the rear-view mirror. Amanda traces her own courage back through the big leaps: growing up in the Arctic of Canada and, at 18, traveling thousands of miles south for university with almost no examples of anyone who'd done it. Graduating into 2008, saying yes to a consulting job when she didn't know what management consulting or investment banking even were, and finding herself at 25 advising the mayor of Chicago's office on procurement. Becoming an entrepreneur a decade ago with plenty of hope and zero confidence. She and Kimberly land on the truth that confidence is built on thousands of tiny "toe-wiggle" steps, that a real tug only shows up once you lay out your options, and that the negative self-talk in your head is usually just echoes of other people's voices. Amanda's reframe: courage is always on your terms... switching from caffeinated to decaf can be a courageous act, and the pride of that win is entirely yours. In this conversation: π± Courage is the prerequisite; confidence is the ripple effect you only see later π From the Arctic of Canada to advising a big-city mayor's office at 25... leaping without examples π£ The "toe-wiggle" steps: how thousands of tiny brave moments build real confidence 𧲠Waiting for a "tug"... and how it only appears once you lay your options on the table π Seneca on luck: opportunity meeting preparation, and the courage that takes β Courage on your terms: decaf, red lipstick, and deciding for yourself what counts as brave One line from Amanda worth sitting with: "So often we have the certainty of what could go wrong. And courage is taking that step knowing that it might not work out." About Amanda Kaufman: Amanda is a certified Live Life Fully coach and a decade-long entrepreneur who came to coaching by way of engineering and management consulting. She grew up in the Arctic of Canada and built a life on courageous leaps... long before she ever felt confident about any of them. Her work helps capable, high-achieving people who feel stuck move forward anyway, treating courage not as a personality trait you're born with but as a non-negotiable habit you build one small, uncomfortable step at a time. Your Brain Is Always Listening

Your Brain Is Always Listening
Your Brain Is Always Listening | Tiffanie Hughes on Self-Talk, Reframing Failure & Perspective What if the difference between exhausted and healing is a single word? In this episode of Candid Coach Conversations, Kimberly Boyd sits down with Tiffanie Hughes... a trauma-informed therapist, EMDR-trained clinician, and certified Live Life Fully coach... to talk about the quiet power of the words we say to ourselves, and how reframing them changes the whole day. Tiffanie catches the small phrases most of us never question. "I can't" becomes "I'm choosing not to." "I am tired" becomes "I feel tired"... because the moment tired stops being your name, your brain stops believing it's who you are. She and Kimberly walk through the sock she failed to knit before she made a scarf she loved, the word "safe" that isn't actually safe for a trauma survivor, and the reason calm and peace beat happy and safe every time... you can find them in a crowded subway, no permission from the outside world required. And then there's the rose garden Tiffanie planted entirely by smell, and the trip to Estonia she chose over Hungary, both for the same reason: she wants the full, raw experience, not the version that's already been tidied up for her. In this conversation: π£οΈ Turning "I can't" into "I'm choosing not to"... and taking back ownership of your time and energy π§ The reason "I am tired" and "I feel tired" land so differently in a brain that's always listening π± Failure isn't terminal: the knitted sock, the scarf, and what a "lesson" really means ποΈ The word "safe" isn't safe... and how calm and peace become achievable anywhere πΉ A garden chosen by scent and a country chosen for being untamed... living for the whole-body experience π¬ One muddy lens, one clean wipe: the Ratatouille-simple truth about perspective One line from Tiffanie worth sitting with: "It's perspective, because it's the lens you're choosing to see through. One Club, Many Ways Forward | Inside the Live Life Fully Club with ShuntΓ‘, Guadalupe & Mai Lee
What if growth didn't have to feel like proving you're not enough... just like coming home to who you already are? In this episode of Candid Coach Conversations, Kimberly Boyd sits down with three certified Live Life Fully coaches... Guadalupe Gudino, ShuntΓ‘, and Mai Lee... to talk about the Live Life Fully Club: one virtual membership that holds several coaching communities under a single roof. Each coach shares the community she leads and the personal story behind it. Guadalupe walks through Get Out of Your Own Way, which meets the second Friday of the month, and the gentle idea that started it: give yourself permission to be curious without the outside pressure... and put your learning cap on so perfectionism and other people's judgments get quiet. ShuntΓ‘ tells the story behind Level Up, born from a terrifying season of giving presentations with all her notes clutched in her hand, and now leading a whole community note-free into loving themselves unapologetically. Mai Lee and Kimberly share the Life Accelerator, where the coaching happens in real time, and Kimberly explains how listening to clients who couldn't choose between communities turned into one Club with access to them all. In this conversation: π Guadalupe's Get Out of Your Own Way community... so you don't spend a whole month stuck π§’ The "learning cap" instead of a thinking cap... and how it quiets perfectionism and other people's judgments πͺ ShuntΓ‘'s Level Up community: learning to love yourself unapologetically, especially if love was once taught the wrong way π€ The speech that started it all... notes in hand, doing it afraid, now leading note-free β‘ Life Accelerator and real-time coaching with Kimberly and Mai Lee π How one Club replaced the impossible "pick just one community" choice One line from Kimberly worth sitting with: "We can level up that sadness or that frustration or the discouragement by finding a speck... not a huge glob, a speck of joy." About the Live Life Fully Club The Live Life Fully Club is a 100% virtual monthly membership that brings several coaching communities together in one place. Join once and you get your own login and access to every community inside: Get Out of Your Own Way, Level Up, Life Accelerator, Live Life Fully Motherhood, and more on the way. From Therapy to Coaching | Teresa Anderson on Intentional Living, Self-Governance & Activation

From Therapy to Coaching | Teresa Anderson on Intentional Living, Self-Governance & Activation
What if you could happen to the day, instead of letting the day happen to you? In this episode of Candid Coach Conversations, Kimberly Boyd sits down with Teresa Anderson... a licensed professional counselor and certified Live Life Fully coach... to talk about intentional living, the leap from therapy to coaching, and what changes when you stop playing small. Teresa spent years doing the deep, careful work of healing... the past, the trauma, the things that hold people down. Then she noticed a whole subset of clients who had already moved through the dark stuff and needed something else: activation. A path forward. That's where, as she puts it, the therapy client becomes the coaching client. Around the same season she hit a wall in her own life... "I built a life, but I'm not sure it's mine"... and started asking herself the questions she couldn't always ask in the counseling room: What do I actually want? Where am I over-functioning? What have I outgrown? What would freedom look like here? Kimberly shares her own version of the same turn. A lifelong go-getter who thought she was already doing the work, until her coach said seven words... "so, Kimberly, you're still playing small"... and she realized she kept reaching for the ten things instead of the one tiny step. She finished her three-year goal list in under a year. Teresa's intentionality shows up on the page too: a first book now in editing with a publisher, a second already outlined, plus the smaller joys she designs on purpose... DΓa de los Muertos in New Mexico, a quinceaΓ±era for her daughter. In this conversation: π― The difference between motivation-culture hype and real coaching... clarity, alignment, and intentional design ποΈ "We can have all the thoughts all day"... and still never get off the couch. Where stalling quietly masquerades as planning π§ Self-governance: choosing to pivot when life is life-ing, instead of letting misalignment run the whole day πͺ Set the big goal, name all the things... then come down to one tiny step and watch it move like a rocket πͺ The wall Teresa hit in the counseling room, and the season that made her ask, "I built a life, but is it mine?" π From therapist to author: the book now in editing, the second already outlined, and the coach who pushed her there One line from Teresa worth sitting with: "Coaching is where excuses get challenged with compassion." About Teresa Anderson Teresa Anderson is a licensed professional counselor and a certified Live Life Fully coach who works with a heart-forward approach in both worlds. In the counseling room she helps people heal the past and know they're worthy regardless of it; in coaching she gently pushes them past what they thought was possible toward clarity, intention, and the next big move. She's also an author... her first book is in editing with a publisher and her second is already outlined. Her work lives at the meeting point of healing and activation, helping high-functioning people who still get stuck find a path forward. Me Versus Me | ShuntΓ‘ Montgomery on Ownership, Self-Talk & Choosing Yourself
What if the only person standing between you and the life you want... is the version of you that keeps choosing to stay? In this episode of Candid Coach Conversations, Kimberly Boyd sits down with ShuntΓ‘ Montgomery... mental health therapist, life coach, certified Live Life Fully coach, and former special education teacher... to talk about the idea she calls "me versus me" and what it really means to take ownership of your life. ShuntΓ‘ shares the career story underneath it all: how she planned to teach for thirteen years so she could share the same schedule as her youngest, and how eight of those years quietly slipped by in a job that made her unhappy. Every year her assignment changed... sometimes the weekend before school started... and the consistency she craved was nowhere in the work she'd chosen for the stability. Through coaching she realized she gets to choose her happiness, resigned, and walked into work she loves as a therapist and coach. Along the way she and Kimberly unpack self-talk, the difference between "you versus you" and "you and you," and the moment battling yourself turns into choosing yourself. In this conversation: πͺ What "me versus me" really means... owning how you see your past instead of handing it the blame π Thirteen years planned, eight years in... the teaching job that promised consistency and delivered the opposite πͺ The resignation that became one of the best decisions of her life... and the work she loves now π Kimberly's reframe: turning "you versus you" into "you and you" π§ Garbage in, garbage out... how self-talk quietly becomes your habits, your behaviors, your results π Owning your self-love, your healing, your time, your emotions... and choosing yourself instead of battling yourself One line from ShuntΓ‘ worth sitting with: "When I learned that I have a choice and that I take control and ownership of my life, my responsibilities and things that happen to me, then life is better for me because then I'm in control of the results." About ShuntΓ‘ Montgomery ShuntΓ‘ is a mental health therapist, a life coach, and a certified Live Life Fully coach who spent years as a special education teacher before choosing a different path. She knows what it costs to stay somewhere out of comfort, and what it gives you to finally choose yourself. Her work meets people in the gap between blaming their circumstances and owning their next step... helping them quiet the inner battle, define what respect and love actually look like, and build a life around their own values. She's launching a community inside the Live Life Fully Club for people ready to take deeper dives into self-love, boundaries, and choosing themselves. From Plate to Platter | LaStacie Alexander-Johnson on Reflection, Resilience & Owning Your Yes
What if the storm you swear you'll never survive is one you've already lived through... more than once? In this episode of Candid Coach Conversations, Kimberly Boyd sits down with LaStacie Alexander-Johnson... an LPC associate, certified Live Life Fully coach, military veteran, and the self-proclaimed Queen of Doing It Afraid... to talk about reflection, resilience, and the difference between a plate and a platter. LaStacie describes herself as a sponge... someone who draws in everything around her, the good and the bad, and decides what to do with it. She and Kimberly trace how connection became her tether away from self-isolation, the thing that reminds her she can choose the light over the darkness. From there they get practical about the practices that hold her up: a morning meditation where she asks what aroma she's leaving in a room, and an evening gratitude practice of naming three good things a day... over a thousand a year she'd otherwise walk right past. The heart of the conversation is resilience built through looking back. Kimberly gently pushes LaStacie to trade "I'm trying" for "I choose," because the brain believes the language we feed it. LaStacie shares the reframe from a Planting Seeds retreat, where Coach Maggie asked whether a hard moment was a drizzle, a thunderstorm, or a hurricane... and how, on the other side, what felt like a downpour gets reclassified as a drizzle. Then she gives the tool she hands her own clients: a success resume, a running record of every obstacle already overcome, so the next one looks a lot smaller. It's the same reason her doubters lost their grip... you can't doubt someone once you've seen everything they've already survived. And it's how she stopped praying for a full plate and realized she was built for a platter... one where she, and no one else, decides what gets set down. In this conversation: 𧽠The sponge: drawing in the good and the bad, and choosing what to do with it πͺ’ Connection as a tether... how community pulls us back from self-isolation π
The morning question that reframes a whole day: "What aroma am I leaving?" π Three good things a day... and the 1,000+ moments most of us walk right past π§οΈ Drizzle, thunderstorm, or hurricane: reclassifying the storm once you're through it π½οΈ The "success resume" that shrinks your doubters and turns a plate into a platter One line from LaStacie worth sitting with: "You get to choose if you have a plate or a platter and only you get to decide what you put on it." About LaStacie Alexander-Johnson LaStacie Alexander-Johnson is an LPC associate, a certified Live Life Fully coach, a military veteran, and the self-proclaimed Queen of Doing It Afraid. She believes everything you want is already within you, and her work is about momentum... helping people reflect on the obstacles they've already conquered, build a success resume they can stand on, and move forward even when fear comes along for the ride. Master Your Minutes | Savannah Burke on Time Management, Presence & Owning Your Day
What if you could get a whole evening back with the people you love... just by changing the way you hold your phone? In this episode of Candid Coach Conversations, Kimberly Boyd sits down with Savannah Burke... a fully licensed LPC supervisor at Kimberly Boyd Counseling Center and a Certified Live Life Fully Coach... to talk about time management, presence, and what it really means to own your day. Savannah doesn't open with theory. She opens with the numbers that stopped her cold: 168 hours in a week, the same for every one of us. Five-plus hours a day on the phone. 200 or more pickups, most of them for a screen that never even buzzed. Two-minute sessions that quietly stack into hours. 2,600 swipes a day. When she looked at her own tracker, she was horrified... and that was the moment something changed. From there she and Kimberly walk through the small shifts that gave them their lives back. Getting off Facebook in 2020, right before COVID. Writing session notes the moment a session ends instead of carrying them into the evening. Checking email on a schedule twice a day rather than between every appointment. And the line Savannah lives by every morning: somewhat successful people manage their hour, highly successful people manage each minute... but very successful people own that minute and own that day. The payoff isn't a tidier calendar. It's walking through the door calm, greeting the dog, cooking dinner while everyone talks, and playing Mario Kart with her husband and daughter instead of everyone scattered behind their own screens. As Kimberly names it: she's building her legacy, one intentional evening at a time. In this conversation: π± The phone math that horrified Savannah... 5+ hours a day, 200+ pickups, 2,600 swipes π§ Every swipe is a tiny judgment... and how decision fatigue quietly drains your whole day βοΈ Owning your day before anyone else's agenda owns it for you π§ The twice-a-day email system Kimberly built in 2019 to take her time back β±οΈ The 20-minute timer trick for tackling the big thing you keep avoiding π Trading scattered screens for trivia, Mario Kart, and dinner-table catch-ups... and calling it legacy One line from Savannah worth sitting with: "Somewhat successful people will manage their hour. Very or highly successful people will manage each minute, but very successful people own that minute, own that day." About Savannah Burke Savannah Burke is a fully licensed LPC supervisor at Kimberly Boyd Counseling Center and a certified Live Life Fully coach with over five years of experience helping clients move through emotional and psychological obstacles. Her work blends therapeutic insight with practical coaching, rooted in empathy, active listening, and a deep belief in each person's potential. The Joy Journey: How to Cultivate Happiness Through Play and Presence
What if joy in your 40s isn't fireworks... but exhale? In this episode of Candid Coach Conversations, Kimberly Boyd sits down with Teresa Anderson... licensed professional counselor, intentional living coach with Live Life Fully, mother, and author of The Table... to talk about what it means to cultivate joy through play and presence when your days are already full of organized chaos. Teresa shares how joy stopped being something she performed and became something she practices: dancing to a favorite Latino song instead of grinding through the gym, staying in the bubble room at the Balloon Museum longer than the actual kids, and giving herself one Saturday a month to take a little field trip somewhere her younger self would have loved. Along the way she and Kimberly land on the truth that joy is a practice of attention... what we attend to grows... and Kimberly tells the story of a nine-hour road trip, a street called Drury Lane, and five grown adults singing "Do You Know the Muffin Man" out the truck window. In this conversation: 𫧠The bubble room at the Balloon Museum, and what it feels like to play longer than the kids in the room πΆ Adult play, reimagined... dancing to your favorite song instead of forcing the workout π The Drury Lane road trip and "Do You Know the Muffin Man?"... how five adults turned back into kids πͺ Joy as a practice of attention... what we attend to grows, and how to start noticing it ποΈ The one-Saturday-a-month field trip (even a free one... park swings, little shops, a walk) π
Saying no without guilt, regulating your nervous system through play, and following high-vibration energy One line from Teresa worth sitting with: "In your 40s, joy looks different. It isn't fireworks, it's exhale. It isn't less... it's less performing and more presence. It's allowing myself to play again." About Teresa Anderson Teresa is Texas-born, a mom of two daughters, a licensed professional counselor, and an intentional living coach with Live Life Fully who guides people on the joy journey through small, deliberate choices. Her work isn't about fixing what's broken... it's about remembering what's whole, and reclaiming the inner light that play and presence keep alive. She's also the author of The Table. From Chaos to Calm | Mai Lee Eskelund on Mornings, the Brain-Body Connection & Regulation
What if a chaotic morning didn't have to cost you the whole day? In this episode of Candid Coach Conversations, Kimberly Boyd sits down with Mai Lee Eskelund... certified Live Life Fully coach and brain-body connection specialist... to talk about how to start your day on your own terms and find your way back to calm when everything goes sideways. Kimberly opens with a confession: her morning was anything but peaceful. She'd just stepped out of the shower when Harvey, the youngest of her five dogs, darted out the front door. What followed was a half-mile sprint down a rock driveway in her nightgown and a pair of borrowed sandals... "running like there's a bear chasing me"... until she finally coaxed him into a guest house. And yet, an hour later, she realized something that brought her real joy: she had still done her high performance planner, still started the day exactly the way she wanted, before any of the chaos hit. From there, Mai Lee walks through the tools she actually uses. Name the feeling out loud and let it move... "I feel frustrated... actually, I feel angry... I feel hurt." Run your tongue along the roof of your mouth to reset the nervous system. Walk a figure eight. Use Brendon Burchard's release meditation when a thought keeps circling back. Cool your warm insides with a glass of water, or a cup of hot tea with honey for the heavier days. The two of them close on the changing season and the Planting Seeds retreat for 2027... a single day, landing exactly 90 days out from the new year, to finish this one strong and start the next one even stronger. In this conversation: π The morning a puppy named Harvey sent Kimberly sprinting down a half-mile driveway in her nightgown π£οΈ Naming the feeling out loud as it shifts... Because anything that does come in, you're immediately saying release." About Mai Lee Eskelund Mai Lee is a certified Live Life Fully coach with a deep love for the brain-body connection... the simple, fascinating truth that what we feel shows up in the body, and the body can help us feel our way back to calm. She's the kind of coach who starts her morning with a quiet walk with her dog, swears by a good handwritten brain dump (no complete sentences required), and has a regulation tool for every kind of hard day. Re-U: The Six-Step System to Reclaim Your Life
What if the person you're trying to become is someone you already were... just somewhere along the way you lost her? In this episode of Candid Coach Conversations, Live Life Fully Coaches Kimberly Boyd and Mai Lee Eskelund sit down with Tiffanie Hughes... psychotherapist, Certified Live Life Fully Coach, former full-ride discus thrower, and the creator of Re-U... to talk about what happens after the healing work is done and how we find our way back to ourselves. Tiffanie shares how she built Re-U, her six-step methodology for reclaiming, rebuilding, and reestablishing the version of you that got lost under everyone else's expectations. She walks through the story of her own journey... caretaking for her grandmother at 26, booking a solo trip to New Zealand with everything she needed on her back, saving $10,000 to move to Germany on three job offers out of 250 applications, and eating rotten shark in Iceland just to prove she could do hard things. Along the way she and Mai Lee explore how awareness becomes the first and most important step, how coaching works by finding the right questions instead of handing over solutions, and how the opposite of uncertainty isn't certainty... it's self-trust. In this conversation: π The six steps of Re-U... awareness, adaptation, identity, intuition, intention, and integration πͺ The reason awareness comes first... you can't change a life you haven't honestly looked at π The solo trip to New Zealand that "changed her chemical makeup"... sprained ankle, Southern Cross, and all βοΈ Saving $10,000, sending 250 applications, and moving to Germany alone to find out who she really was π¦ Tasting rotten shark in Iceland... The Queen of Do It Afraid: How Motorcycle Riding Transformed My Life
What if the thing that scares you most is exactly where your freedom lives? In this episode of Candid Coach Conversations, Kimberly Boyd sits down with LaStacie Alexander-Johnson... LPC associate, Certified Live Life Fully coach, mother, and the self-proclaimed Queen of Doing It Afraid... to talk about what a Harley taught her about momentum, grief, and getting out of her own way. LaStacie shares the story of her first solo ride (five hours of stalling out, dropping the bike, and breaking 100 on the highway because a friend wouldn't stop until she caught up), the 36-hour Texas-to-California ride that tested everything she had, and the recent solo trip home to Louisiana where she finally let herself grieve a cousin she lost. Along the way she and Kimberly explore how "do it afraid" became her whole philosophy, how riding taught her to listen to her body, and what it means to coach from a life you're actually living. In this conversation: ποΈ How "the Queen of Doing It Afraid" was born on a five-hour solo ride to Louisiana π€« The one place besides sleep where LaStacie's mind finally goes quiet... her bike π΅ The 36-hour ride from Texas to California, two broken-down bikes, and a tumbleweed to the chest π Riding home to grieve a cousin she lost... and learning that if you can name it, you can heal it π§ Listening to your body, trusting your intuition, and letting that wisdom bleed into everyday life π£οΈ The seven-word conversation standing between a client and her freedom One line from LaStacie worth sitting with: "Our body does not know the difference between being afraid and being excited. We get to tell it. So whatever is going on, just be excited about what the possibilities are." In this episode of Candid Coach Conversations, Kimberly Boyd sits down with Savannah Burke... fully licensed LPC supervisor, certified Live Life Fully coach, wife, mother, and one of the most joy-filled people Kimberly knows... to talk about how to hold sadness and fun in the same hands. Savannah opens up about the losses she's walked through this past year, the grief newsletter she wrote and then sat on for months, and the gentle nudge that finally told her it was time to share it. Along the way she and Kimberly explore what personal freedom actually feels like in the body, why reaching out to old friends is its own kind of growth, and how to honor the people we've lost by living the life they'd want for us. In this conversation: πΏ How to grieve and still give yourself permission to feel joy... because both can be true π The "paw-paw face" and finding our loved ones in the small, everyday moments π The grief newsletter Savannah wrote, hesitated on, and why she's finally sending it π
What personal freedom feels like... lightness, laughter, fresh-cut grass, and line-dried sheets π€ Being intentional about friendship and reaching out, even when it's hard ποΈ The awe and wonder of a silent morning in the mountains, and why those memories carry us through loss One line from Savannah worth sitting with: "Grief is not someplace that you hang out in. It is a stop, pay reverence, and then remember them in the best ways. They don't want you to go on grieving... they want you to live the life that you have." About Savannah Burke Savannah has over five years of experience in counseling and therapy, helping clients move through emotional and psychological obstacles with empathy, active listening, and a deep belief in their potential. She creates a safe, non-judgmental space for people who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or uncertain to gain clarity, set meaningful goals, and step into their full potential. Teresa opens up about choosing self-publishing for creative control, releasing the book in both English and Spanish, building a companion workbook, and the very human moment when your work leaves your laptop and lands in someone else's hands. It's tender, it's honest, and it's a masterclass in doing the brave thing anyway. In this conversation: πΏ Why Teresa chose self-publishing... creative control, ownership, speed, and keeping her voice intact π What the publishing process really looks like week to week (covers, layout, ISBNs, royalties, print-on-demand) β¨ Releasing in two languages and why that mattered so much to her π The teacher whose few words shaped a lifetime... and how one sentence can change a child's trajectory π₯ Moving through fear, owning what's yours, and setting down what isn't π£οΈ The naysayers (there are always naysayers) and how to keep going regardless One line from Teresa worth sitting with: "Not everyone will understand your calling, and they don't have to. Built for Greatness: The Reason Behind Our Coaching Journey
This is where it starts. In this first episode of Candid Coach Conversations, weβre sharing the real story behind why we became coaches and what shaped the path that got us here. Because it didnβt start with a perfect plan. It started with real life. For Shunta, it was believing there had to be a greater reason behind everything she went through. For me, it looked different. I didnβt always believe I was built for greatness, but I did know I was going to prove people wrong. Different starting points, but both led to growth. In this episode, we talk about how your past shapes you without having to define you, why mindset matters more than most people realize, and how small shifts in how you think can change the direction of your life. We also share how coaching impacted us personally, and why the right people in your life can make all the difference when it comes to moving forward. If youβve ever looked at your story and wondered what it all means or where itβs leading, this is a conversation you need to hear.
