Creating AI Agents
“What is an AI Agent?” , the Founder and CEO of , shares his thoughts on that question and many more in our in-depth conversation about Agents, earning user trust, and building an AI first company. For the last year, that’s been Edward’s entire focus, rapidly evolving his company from building developer tools to an AI agent platform for non-technical users. In the Lowercase B Podcast, we explore what it means to create an AI agent that saves time and helps users eliminate toil from their workflows. The bar is exceptionally high when it comes to AI. Whether your users are technical or not, they want to see success every time they work with an agent. As the debate about self-driving cars shows us, earning user acceptance can be challenging. The software that most people use every day is deterministic—it either works or it doesn’t work. Today we call software failures “bugs”. Generative AI models on the other hand are probabilistic. When you incorporate them into workflows or existing applications, it takes clever engineering to build excellent user experiences. “There's an interesting balance,” Edward explained, “The way we think about it is, what does the user want? What are the ways it can go wrong, and how do we engineer so that when the user runs…the software is basically holding their hand, like I got you, it’s going to be okay.”
