Fuller is an experienced federal investigator and firearms trainer. He has spent his life carrying a firearm for the U.S. government. T.C. first served as an Army Infantry officer, Explosive Ordnance Disposal officer, before leaving the Army to accept an appointment as a Special Agent for the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). He spent the next 20 years working in all areas of investigative interest within the FBI, and served for several years as an instructor in the FBI’s Firearms Training Unit in Quantico, VA. T.C. holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminology, as well as a Masters of Education in Interdisciplinary Studies and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies. As a published writer, T.C. has written an innovative book on the topic of improving law enforcement deadly force training, as well as having written for several print magazines on the areas of law enforcement procedures, explosives, firearms and edged weapons. Among T.C.’s personal achievements, he has been awarded the U.S. Army’s highest peace-time award for heroism, the Soldier’s Medal. Besides finding, capturing and convicting a fugitive on the FBI’s Top 10 Most Wanted list, T.C. has also been a successful competitive shooter for more than 20 years, earning a Master class certification from the International Defensive Pistol Association, winning numerous local, state and regional competitions along the way. He is now operating his own company, The Horus Group, LLC, which serves as a consultancy on firearms and training, as well as providing high-end, private firearms training for both armed professionals and citizens. Episode #398: Tim Herron - Grandmaster Shooter (4 Division) and Instructor About Tim Herron Tim has been a Grand Master since 2014, has won numerous shooting titles, and continues to shoot enthusiastically, always pursuing improvement. Tim has been instructing since 2015, and loves working with people of all skill levels. His finely tuned eye for detail and personal "trial and error" experience gives him the ability to spot inefficiencies and that many people overlook. His teaching style focuses on an individuals strengths and weaknesses, and he teaches classes with the sole goal of making sure no student feels left behind, ignored, or treated differently, regardless of their abilities or equipment. Tim fosters an atmosphere of fun and personal development, making a personal investment in the improvement of every shooter. Benning in Georgia, the USAMU is renowned for taking young shooters and developing them into National and World Champions in a variety of disciplines. Michel’s prominence in the Practical Shooting arena made him a top recruit for the USAMU’s Action Pistol Team and in 1999 he began his career as an Army shooter and trainer. During his 10 year US Army career, Staff Sergeant Michel’s duties included serving as the Military Coach of the Action Pistol Team. He was also responsible through his training programs for insuring the combat readiness of soldiers fighting the Global War on Terrorism. Utilizing his vast competitive shooting experience, Michel developed one of the most dynamic training programs for today’s soldier and elite warrior. THE CHAMPION’S REIGN Today, Max Michel, Jr. is one of the most dominant shooters in the world. In 2020 he founded the SAFE CITIZEN Campaign – a civil rights group concerned with the safety of South Africans who daily face escalating and brutal crime. Writing on Travel and Tourism, his book, Timeless Karoo was published in 2007, and as a freelance journalist and photographer, he also writes for various publications, including the Rhodes Business School website and the Daily Maverick. He is a past chairman of the Southern African Freelancers Association and is sought after as a speaker and debater on environmental issues at international conferences.
