Hey friends! This week Syd welcomes two special guests, MaRah and Taz who host the true crime podcast, Sistas Who Kill that focuses on Black women who commit crimes. They share their unique perspective on why they chose to explore Black female killers/victims and how they navigate the complexities of discussing race and gender in their show. Throughout the episode, we delve into some of the most intriguing cases they have covered and discuss the ways in which society often stereotypes and misunderstands Black women who commit crimes. Both ladies provide insight into how they strive to shed light on the individual stories and circumstances of each case, rather than perpetuating harmful myths and biases. It's been awhile but welcome back! Syd is back with a solo episode and ready to catch up. Life has recently felt like a bad Tyler Perry play but Syd is doing her best to hang in there. Starting off with a bit of venting and accountability, this week's episode is all about distinguishing your intuition from unhealed trauma. Syd had recently come across a TikTok published by Tarot by Bronx, where they described the difference between honoring your intuition while being mindful of past unhealed trauma. It's been awhilebut hey friends! Syd is back with a solo situation, ready to catch up. As of lately it seems like the world is on fire but there is hope that brighter days are on the horizon. Syd jumps in her psychology bag and breaks down how excessively thinking distracts many people from living in the present. Often people are either stuck in the past or anxiously awaiting the future. This is due to being able to rewrite either option. The past can be controted to seem better than it actually was while the future contains an enormous amount of possibilities. Often we ask ourselves will history just repeat itself or do we truly have the opportunity to learn from each other as new people? Hello, gracious listeners! Apologies for the delay in this episode, which was late due to technical difficulties. Joined by writer and owner of The Noir Bookshop, Ymani stops by to talk about the concept behind Noir and her journey of opening a Black-owned bookshop on the Southside of St. Louis. Statistics show Black-owned bookshops only make up a small portion of Indie bookstores within the United States at only 6%. Despite this, Ymani hasn’t allowed this to hinder her but plans for the pillars of the bookshop to bring more into her community. Black bookshops can serve as gathering spaces, support emerging authors and provide educational programs. EP 60: Snitch Please
Hey friendzzz! The ladies are back in the studio with just themselves. We had additional listener submissions from our Valentine’s Day episode, which we read this episode for ‘Red Flag or Nah?’ and ‘Last Dating Fed Up or F*cked Up.’ This episode is also popping hot as Kendall shared her recent run in with a reality television star on a very popular dating series. Based on her experience, we pose the question of if you should snitch on a serial cheater? We both see nothing wrong with it and further discuss dignity/respect in relationships. Also, can we all agree that the Euphoria season finale was a bit underwhelming? If you haven’t already, make sure to follow the podcast on Instagram and Facebook @AnnoyedNotOffended. Ep 59: Living Black History w/ Shannon

Ep 59: Living Black History w/ Shannon
It’s still February, which means it’s still Black History Month! We’re back with a new episode and new guests, as promised. Joined by Shannon Clash, a friend of the show and nationally recognized storyteller, this week’s discussion focuses on the time of year when we celebrate and honor all of the contributions African Americans have made to this country. Yet, with every BHM that rolls around we feel as though we’re still fighting to be recognized. Throughout the episode we share our own experiences with learning Black history, intersectionality and recent efforts to restrict how schools teach about Black history, race and racism. Interestingly, our conversation leads back to the fallacy of White ‘discomfort’. We all agree that while Black history is integral to our national narrative, Black people should not be tokenized to educate non-Black Americans. Give our amazing guest, Shannon a follow on and to keep up with more of her visionary storytelling. EP 57: Winter Time Blues
Yooooooooo! We’re back with a new episode. Kenny and Sydney dive into a heavier topic as they discuss winter time blues..The ladies get open and honest about mental health. Considering Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) affects more than 16.1 million American adults, it’s not uncommon to hear about people battling chronic depression. Yet, we try our best to mask these feelings of sadness and hopelessness. TRIGGER WARNING: there is mention of both depression and suicide during this episode. Often to clear our mind of the clutter and keep ourselves on track it’s best to do an audit of your stress. If you or someone you know is in emotional distress or a suicidal crisis, please call (800)-273-8255 for the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline.
