Most people think shine comes from products… but the truth is, shine comes from removing what’s blocking it. We’re talking about: Why your paint looks dull (even after washing) How contaminants, swirls, and scratches kill gloss The simple process to restore depth and clarity How to protect your finish so it stays looking fresh And the easiest way to maintain that shine long-term This is the exact system I use to get consistent results without wasting time or effort. The TRUTH About Snow Foam...Is It Useless?
Most foam looks cool… but is it actually cleaning? In this episode, I break down the truth about snow foam and introduce the idea of functional foam—foam that doesn’t just sit on the surface, but actually works to break down dirt, grime, and road film. We’ll talk about why foam became so popular, where most soaps fall short, and how changing your approach (like using the dry foam method) can completely transform your wash process. The Truth About Ceramic Coatings for Daily Drivers.

The Truth About Ceramic Coatings for Daily Drivers.
If your car sits outside every day… is a ceramic coating even worth it? I recently received a comment that sparked a really interesting discussion: “I still cannot embrace the small-bottle-type, multi-year ceramic coating product for the daily driver with no garage vehicle.” And honestly… it’s a fair question. In this video, I break down the real truth about ceramic coatings for daily drivers, especially cars that live outside with no garage. The detailing industry loves to talk about 5-year coatings, 7-year coatings, and even 9-year coatings, but the reality is most car owners don’t actually need that kind of longevity. What most people really want is something that keeps their car looking good and makes it easier to clean. So in this episode, I share my real-world experience testing protection on my own daily driver that sits outside full-time. We’ll talk about: • Why many people think ceramic coatings don’t make sense for daily drivers • The biggest myths about multi-year ceramic coatings • Why the detailing industry is obsessed with durability claims • What actually matters more than longevity • My personal experiment running an uncoated daily driver for three years • Why cars that live outside actually benefit MORE from protection • The three realistic levels of paint protection every car owner should understand Does it make your life easier and your car easier to maintain? If you drive your car daily, park outside, and want your paint to stay looking great without spending hours detailing, this discussion will help you decide what type of protection actually makes sense. You Literally Cannot Mess This Coating Up
One of the biggest myths in the detailing world is that ceramic coatings are difficult to apply. For years people were told that coatings were only for professionals… that you needed perfect prep, exact flash times, and that one mistake could ruin your paint. And honestly… that used to be true. But modern ceramic coatings have evolved a lot. Today there are ceramic products designed specifically to be easy, forgiving, and safe for everyday car owners to use. In this video we break down: • Why ceramic coatings used to be difficult • Why that reputation still exists today • How modern coatings have changed • The difference between spray ceramics and wipe-on coatings • The biggest mistakes people still make when applying protection • Why ceramic protection actually makes washing your car easier We’ll also talk about why the real benefit of ceramic protection isn’t just gloss — it’s how much easier it makes your car to clean every time you wash it. The SECRETS Car Care Brands NEVER Tell You (Because It Would Kill Their Sales)
Most car care brands do not want you watching this. Today I’m breaking down the real truth about how detailing products are made, how private labeling works, and why so many brands rely on marketing instead of real chemistry. I’ve been behind the scenes for years—fulfilling products, private labeling, working with manufacturers, and now developing my own formulas with a chemist. I’ve seen how this industry really operates, and very few people talk about it honestly. In this episode, I cover: • The truth about private label products • Why most brands don’t make their own formulas • How easy it is to white-label average or poor products • Why packaging often sells more than actual chemistry • The real margins and how they drive decisions • Why many influencers recommend certain products • How detailing products are actually made behind the scenes • What cheap formulas skip and why performance suffers • How my own development process works • Why I’m trying to build Jimbo’s Detailing differently I also share what goes into products like Picture Perfect Polish, The Super Soaper, Gloss Boss, and more—how they’re tested, developed, and refined. Building products the right way is slower and harder, and it takes time to show people the difference. But this episode explains exactly why I’m doing it this way. If you want honest, transparent insight into the detailing world, this podcast will be valuable. The Dry Foam Method: Why It Works & Why It’s Better
If you want a safer, faster, and more effective way to wash your car than the old-school two-bucket method, this episode breaks down everything you need to know about the Dry Foam Method. This modern approach lets the soap hit the dirt at full strength, giving you better cleaning power with less risk of scratching. Instead of pre-rinsing the car and immediately diluting your soap, dry foaming allows the chemical to work at its most concentrated level. It removes more dirt chemically before you ever make physical contact with the paint. In this episode, you will learn: What the Dry Foam Method is and why it works The scientific reason dry foaming is more effective How dry foam reduces scratches and swirls Why this method outperforms the two-bucket wash A full step-by-step process you can follow When dry foaming works best, including black cars, ceramic-coated paint, road film, and heavy buildup This is the most efficient, modern wash method for both DIYers and professionals. Secrets They Don’t Want You To Know About Rinseless Washing

Secrets They Don’t Want You To Know About Rinseless Washing
Why don’t I do rinseless washes anymore? After years of being a full-time mobile detailer in Orange County—working in strict coastal cities with heavy water-runoff regulations and during the peak of California’s “drought”—I relied on rinseless washes to keep my business alive. I was a full-on mobile rinseless detailer for years. Corporate accounts, weekly clients, everything. But over time, I realized rinseless washing has major limitations that no one really talks about. In this video/podcast, I’m breaking down my full experience: How strict water regulations pushed me into rinseless in the first place Why I switched from waterless → to rinseless → to traditional washing The real problems I ran into after YEARS of rinseless washing Why customers didn’t trust it (and how I lost accounts because of it) Why wheels, tires, door jambs, and wheel wells are a nightmare with rinseless Why rinseless is way more labor-intensive than people think Why it only works well on lightly soiled “garage queen” cars Why I eventually moved away from it completely And most importantly… How all of this led me to develop the Dry Foam Wash Method—a system that uses significantly less water but way more chemistry to safely break down dirt with less labor, less waste, and fewer limitations. Rinseless washing still has its place. Traditional washing still has its place. Foam cannons still have limitations. There is no perfect system… …but there are smarter ways to wash a car depending on your goals. This episode is all about the reality of rinseless washes—not the marketing hype—and how years of hands-on mobile detailing shaped the way I wash cars today. Want to Try the Dry Foam Method? SECRETS They Don't Want You To Know: The Si02 Myth
There’s a lot of talk in the detailing world about SiO2 content in ceramic coatings — but what does that actually mean? In this episode, Jimbo breaks down the real story behind SiO2 and how it’s used (and misunderstood) in the detailing industry. In this podcast, we’re breaking down one of the most confusing topics in all of car care — the difference between a waterless wash, a rinseless wash, a detail spray, a spray wax, a ceramic detail spray, and a true ceramic spray coating. There are so many products that seem to do the same thing, but each one actually serves a very different purpose — and if you don’t understand those differences, you’ll waste time, money, and effort without getting the results you want. I’ll explain each one in simple, easy-to-understand terms — when to use them, what they actually do, and how to know which one is best for your situation. I’ll also share the truth about why so many new products exist in the first place, and how companies made things confusing instead of just fixing the real problem: making ceramic sprays easier to use. By the end, you’ll understand exactly what each product does, how they fit together, and why I created Tough As Shell — a ceramic spray that applies as easily as a detail spray but gives you the long-lasting protection of a true ceramic coating. Products I use and recommend in this video: Tough As Shell Ceramic Spray – The Super Soaper – All Dressed Up – Softer Than Soft Towels – Everyday Microfiber Towels – All Blacked Out Applicators – Also available on Amazon:
