THE WISDOM PATH PROJECT AND WISDOM LEADERSHIP
In order to enact the change we need in this world we need to renew our committment to leadership based on service to others and a recognition that every person is sacred. Ian Haycroft, joining us from Australia, is the Founder of ClearMindWay. Ian supports the awakening of as many people as possible, so that together we can build and sustain peaceful and just communities. His work with businesses, teams, groups and communities is focused on the impact of awakening on the world we all live in. Our planet and our communities are faced with existential issues that cry out for an awakened approach to solutions. Ian believes that the most effective soultions will come from the wisdom with each of us. In this episode, Ian will talk about the Wisdom Path Project and Wisdom Leadership. The idea of service leadership or servant leadership is not a new one. Though not novel, it is, in Ian's view, centrally important, and honoured more in the failure than in the applicaiton. The most successful leadership approach is for the leader to be the servant of those they lead. This leadership approach rests on a clear set of values, and therefore how to treat beings of such value. Not complicated, just difficult. The idea has much deeper historical roots. Look at the teachings about leadership of the Tao Te Ching, Confucious, Plato, Jesus or Gandhi. Each in their own way point to the importance of the values of dignity, humility, forgiveness, courage, sacrifice an service, at the centre of good leadership. In more recent time, we look at examples of Abraham Lincoln, Vaclav Havel, Martin Luther King, Jr. or Nelson Mandela. Each a servant leader. Join us in this inspiring episode!
