Dr. Don Stader, MD and Dr. Rachael Duncan, PharmD continue with their interview with returning guest, Kate Nicholson, JD to discuss the intersection of pain, stigma, and opioids. Kate Nicholson is a civil rights attorney, speaker, and writer who advocates for the appropriate treatment of pain. She is the Executive Director and founder of the National Pain Advocacy Center, a nonprofit dedicated to advancing the health and human rights of people in pain, with a focus on pain management as a health equity issue. In this episode, Kate touches on her personal story navigating a chronic pain diagnosis and how stigma influenced the care she received and influences the care that many chronic pain patients receive every day.
