He has served on the National Board of Accredited Mediators of the American Mediation Association, the Florida Consumer Federation, Lambda Legal Defense and Education Fund, the ACLU of Florida, the Florida Academy of Professional Mediators, the Florida Task Force, Compass Gay and Lesbian Community Center, and the Palm Beach County Human Rights Council, which he founded in 1988. Rand has also served on the Editorial Boards of The Florida Bar News and The Florida Bar Journal, as a member of the Palm Beach County Ethics Advisory Committee, and as a member of the Palm Beach County Cultural Council's Business Committee for Culture. In Vol 1., Episode 3, we meet with Brian McNaught, author, coach, and educator. Brian McNaught, dubbed "the godfather of gay diversity training" by The New York Times, is a prominent corporate diversity consultant specializing in LGBTQ+ issues in the workplace. With over four decades of experience since 1974, McNaught has leveraged his personal journey and expertise as a sexuality educator to address audiences globally. Authoring thirteen books on LGBTQ+ issues, some used as college texts, and featuring in seven DVDs, McNaught's impact extends to professional and university audiences across North America, Europe, Australia, and Asia. Notable clients include Merrill Lynch, Deutsche Bank, Ford, SONY, and over 200 Colleges/Universities. His LGBTQ educational resource DVDs cover topics like workplace issues, growing up gay, and fostering an inclusive environment. McNaught's written works, such as "On Being Gay" and "Brian McNaught’s Guide on LGBTQ Issues in the Workplace," are widely utilized on college campuses. Beyond his contributions as a consultant and author, McNaught served as the Mayor of Boston's Liaison to the Gay and Lesbian Community during the early 1980s. He conducted a citywide study, coordinated the city's response to the AIDS epidemic, and advised the former Surgeon General on a national sexual health initiative. Brian McNaught holds a B.A in Journalism from Marquette University and is certified by the American Association of Sex Educators, Counselors, and Therapists (AASECT). He resides in Ft. In 2022, she had two books forthcoming; Rutgers University Press would publish OutWrite: The Speeches that Shaped LGBTQ Literary Culture in March of 2022 and Nightboat Books will publish Fire-Rimmed Eden: Selected Poems by Lynn Lonidier in June of 2022. Her scholarly book manuscript, A Fine Bind, is a history of lesbian-feminist presses from 1969 until 2009. Her scholarly work has appeared or is forthcoming in Southern Cultures, Journal of Lesbian Studies, American Periodicals, WSQ, and Frontiers. She is the author of four poetry collections, Avowed (Sibling Rivalry Press, 2016), Lilith’s Demons (A Midsummer Night’s Press, 2015), Sisterhood (Sibling Rivalry Press, 2013) and Handmade Love (A Midsummer Night’s Press, 2010). She is editor of The Complete Works of Pat Parker (Sinister Wisdom/A Midsummer Night’s Press, 2016), which won the 2017 Lambda Literary Award for Lesbian Poetry, Sister Love: The Letters of Audre Lorde and Pat Parker 1974-1989 (Sinister Wisdom/A Midsummer Night’s Press, 2018), and Milk & Honey: A Celebration of Jewish Lesbian Poetry (A Midsummer Night’s Press, 2011), which was a finalist for the 2012 Lambda Literary Award in Lesbian Poetry. Enszer has her MFA and PhD from the University of Maryland. The magazine covers various topics such as places to live and travel, lesbian-friendly accommodations, websites, events, products, legal and real estate services, and more. Additionally, it includes the comic strip "Dykes to Watch Out For" and addresses issues relevant to the lesbian community, including relationships, politics, health, and gay marriage. The magazine sustains itself through voluntary reader donations, and subscriptions are free for all lesbians, aiming to connect the global lesbian community.
