The Flower & The Sun

The Flower & The Sun
Join me on this Sofa Chat as we chat about positioning ourselves in the Light. Positioning is everything. If you position yourself before Truth, than Truth is what you will lean into and you will live by. Those who stand in the sunshine of My Truth will bend their lives toward Truth. Do you notice how a flower will bend itself toward the light when it is put in the light? It allows its whole being to shift and position itself so that it can take in all its nutrients. And so it is for your life. I am the Sun, you are the flower. And as you choose to position yourself and stay in the Light and bask in My rays, your whole life will shift and bend in My direction toward truth and love. Prayer: Thank you Lord for being the beautiful Sun that we are invited to bask in. Your love is so warm and wonderful. And just like a flower needs the sun, so our hearts need you. We were created to need you like a flower was created to need the sun. Help us position ourselves intentionally in your light everyday, basking in your truth and absorbing your love so that our whole lives will then bend in your direction. And wash away all things, God, from our hearts and minds that have corrupted us and even tortured us -- fear, anxiety, lies. These are all things that you never want us to bask in. May we denounce those things in our life and be forever positioned before You, our light and source of wholeness and health. In Jesus Name. *** This is the message we heard from Jesus and now declare to you: God is light, and there is no darkness in him at all… if we are living in the light, as God is in the light, then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from all sin. 1 John 1:5, 7 NLT I have come as a light to shine in this dark world, so that all who put their trust in me will no longer remain in the dark. John 12:46 NLT Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, “I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life.” John 8:12 NLT Bible.com Sofa Chats Blog: www.sofachats.blogspot.com Sofa Chats Book: https://a.co/d/cx3y7Mk Podcast Recording Archives: https://sites.libsyn.com/538247 Search for this podcast where podcasts are broadcasted under: Sofa Chats with Valerie Bailey (on Apple, Spotify, Amazon Music/Audible, Android App, iPhone/iPad app, iHeart Radio, Audacity, Deezer, Gaana, Player FM, Samsung, JioSaavn, Boomplay, Linkedin, Network App Listing, Soundcloud, Tumblr, Webplayer, Simple Download) *** Sofa Chats with Valerie Bailey A Conversational & Poetic Sound Off on Life An extension of my writing found on: www.sofachats.blogspot.com Find more encouragement using these links: Writing🖋️ www.sofachats.blogspot.com Book📘 https://www.amazon.com/Sofa-Chats-Valerie-Bailey/dp/1640881697 Music🎶 https://www.amazon.com/Letting-Go-Mended-Vessels/dp/B0016K59F4 Facebook page💻 https://www.facebook.com/share/fGX2j3BZXMHZFX58/?mibextid=LQQJ4d Rumble Channel 🎧 https://rumble.com/c/c-6434028 YouTube Channel 🎧 https://youtube.com/@sofachats?si=7z14imyQP35vRibG In a fast-paced world, Sofa Chats invites you to slow down for a few moments to think about life and the Giver of Life. He will cover you with his feathers. He will shelter you with his wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection. Do not be afraid of the terrors of the night, nor the arrow that flies in the day. Do not dread the disease that stalks in darkness, nor the disaster that strikes at midday. Though a thousand fall at your side, though ten thousand are dying around you, these evils will not touch you. Just open your eyes, and see how the wicked are punished. If you make the Lord your refuge, if you make the Most High your shelter, no evil will conquer you; no plague will come near your home. For he will order his angels to protect you wherever you go. They will hold you up with their hands so you won’t even hurt your foot on a stone. You will trample upon lions and cobras; you will crush fierce lions and serpents under your feet! Join me for a Sofa Chat as we recall a famous childhood game: He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not. If you'd like to read the blog this Podcast is based off of, you can click here: “God showed how much he loved us by sending his one and only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through him. "This is real love—not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins.” 1 John 4:9-10 NLThttps://bible.com/bible/116/1jn.4.9-10.NLT “When we were utterly helpless, Christ came at just the right time and died for us sinners. Now, most people would not be willing to die for an upright person, though someone might perhaps be willing to die for a person who is especially good. But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. And since we have been made right in God’s sight by the blood of Christ, he will certainly save us from God’s condemnation. For since our friendship with God was restored by the death of his Son while we were still his enemies, we will certainly be saved through the life of his Son. So now we can rejoice in our wonderful new relationship with God because our Lord Jesus Christ has made us friends of God.” Romans 5:6-11 NLT https://bible.com/bible/116/rom.5.6-11.NLT Sofa Chats Blog: Sofa Chats Book: *** Sofa Chats with Valerie Bailey A Conversational & Poetic Sound Off on Life An extension of my writing found on: Find more encouragement using these links: Writing🖋️ Book📘 Music🎶 Facebook page💻 Rumble Channel 🎧 YouTube Channel 🎧 In a fast-paced world, Sofa Chats invites you to slow down for a few moments to think about life and the Giver of Life. The younger son told his father, ‘I want my share of your estate now before you die.’ So his father agreed to divide his wealth between his sons. "A few days later this younger son packed all his belongings and moved to a distant land, and there he wasted all his money in wild living. About the time his money ran out, a great famine swept over the land, and he began to starve. He persuaded a local farmer to hire him, and the man sent him into his fields to feed the pigs. The young man became so hungry that even the pods he was feeding the pigs looked good to him. But no one gave him anything “When he finally came to his senses, he said to himself, ‘At home even the hired servants have food enough to spare, and here I am dying of hunger! I will go home to my father and say, “Father, I have sinned against both heaven and you, and I am no longer worthy of being called your son. Please take me on as a hired servant.”’ “So he returned home to his father. And while he was still a long way off, his father saw him coming. Filled with love and compassion, he ran to his son, embraced him, and kissed him. His son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against both heaven and you, and I am no longer worthy of being called your son.’ “But his father said to the servants, ‘Quick! Bring the finest robe in the house and put it on him. Get a ring for his finger and sandals for his feet. And kill the calf we have been fattening. We must celebrate with a feast, for this son of mine was dead and has now returned to life. He was lost, but now he is found.’ So the party began. “Meanwhile, the older son was in the fields working. When he returned home, he heard music and dancing in the house, and he asked one of the servants what was going on. ‘Your brother is back,’ he was told, ‘and your father has killed the fattened calf. We are celebrating because of his safe return.’ “The older brother was angry and wouldn’t go in. His father came out and begged him, but he replied, ‘All these years I’ve slaved for you and never once refused to do a single thing you told me to. And in all that time you never gave me even one young goat for a feast with my friends. Yet when this son of yours comes back after squandering your money on prostitutes, you celebrate by killing the fattened calf!’ “His father said to him, ‘Look, dear son, you have always stayed by me, and everything I have is yours. We had to celebrate this happy day. For your brother was dead and has come back to life! He was lost, but now he is found!’” Luke 15:11-32 NLT https://bible.com/bible/116/luk.15.11-32.NLT

It's "Just around the corner," is usually what they say! It's around the bend in places unseen, for you can't imagine the things that I've dreamed! Yes! The things coming forth are from My heart alone. These things can not come from man, no not man, but rather My Throne! And you can't imagine! You won't believe what you're seeing! For the things I have planned are beyond all your dreaming. I've plotted it out, a twist and a step. A dance like no other, I'll flip things and THEN! Just WAIT! Just WAIT! I've got things in the wings! Like a good story does, it doesn't give away everything. It waits for the moment when the plot is so thick -- When the villain's in position to trip on his own trick! When the Hero steps in with SHOCK and SURPRISE! and delights the whole audience as they shout this reprise: "Amazing! Amazing! This story's too great! I had started to think that the Hero was late! But no! Look! There He is! He's stepped in! And we are elated because in the end LOOK! In the end -- GOOD really does win!" -Poem above entitled "Surprise Ending!" by Valerie E. There's a place on the sofa saved just for you. *** Seasons Change written by: Valerie E. Bailey The change of season shows life and death. It reminds us of its cycle -- that nothing ever stays the same and we can't hold on nor take it away. It's just the way it is, so it's best to just embrace the change. For, if we tried to hold onto summer when fall is on the way, we'd be swimming in the chilly air and missing football days. And if we tried to wish away November and December, we'd miss out on things like Christmas lights and making memories to remember. And if we thought that April showers were no longer needed here, we'd miss our flowers when May arrived, for there was no rain to make them thrive, I fear. So, we take each season and hold it close, knowing one day we must let go. But letting go means grabbing on and so the cycle goes on and on. photo: freepik.com -Poem entitled "Seasons Change" by Valerie E. Bailey

Back to Basics
Join me as we chat about getting back to basics in our relationship with God. Sofa Chats Blog: Sofa Chats Book: 1) God IS Love We know how much God loves us, and we have put our trust in his love. God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them. 1 John 4:16 NLT 2) God Loves ME For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him. John 3:16-17 NLT 3) God Loves THROUGH ME “You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.” Matthew 5:14-16 NLT You see, we don’t go around preaching about ourselves. We preach that Jesus Christ is Lord, and we ourselves are your servants for Jesus’ sake. For God, who said, “Let there be light in the darkness,” has made this light shine in our hearts so we could know the glory of God that is seen in the face of Jesus Christ. We now have this light shining in our hearts, but we ourselves are like fragile clay jars containing this great treasure. This makes it clear that our great power is from God, not from ourselves. 2 Corinthians 4:5-7 NLT *** Sofa Chats with Valerie Bailey A Conversational & Poetic Sound Off on Life An extension of my writing found on: Find more encouragement using these links: My Writing🖋️ My Book📘 My Music🎶 My Facebook page💻 My Rumble Channel 🎧 My YouTube Channel 🎧 photo: Freepik.com In a fast-paced world, Sofa Chats invites you to slow down for a few moments to think about life and the Giver of Life. Yourself, Your Whole Self and Nothing But Yourself, Part 1
Join me today as we chat about being our authentic selves. There's no competition when you're being yourself. Only when you try to be something else will you find yourself needing help. You're a piece of the puzzle that's unique and special. No one can say they are like YOU. No one can fill the space that's uniquely meant for you and only you. Don't worry about trying to be this way or that. If you just be yourself, it will be perfect, in fact! Just look at creation. They don't rehearse being themselves. They simply live and be free. And you have this same place in the Kingdom with me. --poem by Valerie E.
