2024 Highlights – Paddy Gower, Joe Daymond, Messie, Casual Healing and more!
Merry Christmas whānau, thanks to everyone who's tuned into the podcast this year! Really appreciate the support and I hope these conversations have provided you with a moment of reflection or inspiration. Looking forward to providing you with some more incredible guests and stories in 2025! These aren't a reflection of my 'favourite guests' nor are they ranked, but they are a nice reflection of some of the amazing stories shared on the pod over these past 12 months. This clip features insights from the following guests: Paddy Gower (Episode #43): Awards winning journalist, public figure, author and all round kiwi legend. Rob Mokaraka (Episode #35): Mental health survivor and advocate. After a harrowing experience of “suicide by cop” during a mental health crisis, Rob called the police, claiming an armed man was at a house in Pt Chevalier—himself. Shot through the stomach by police, he survived and now spreads powerful messages about mental health throughout New Zealand. Tessa Hills, Messie (Episode #36): New Zealand DJ who made international headlines by opening for Fred Again and then having the opportunity to perform at his Perth Show, in front of over 30,000 guests. Casual Healing (Nikau Te Hiku) (Episode #38): One of New Zealand’s most talented young musicians, whose album Driftwood hit the NZ charts. A young father of two, Casual Healing has taken bold risks with his music career, and they are paying off. Joe Daymond (Episode #31): One of New Zealand’s most successful comedians, having toured both New Zealand and the U.S, and hosted his own TV show, ‘The Boys Are Decorating’. Brooke Roberts (Episode #37): CEO and Co-Founder of Sharesies, New Zealand’s largest investing and wealth creation platform. Matt Fenn (Episode #34): Mental health advocate who attempted to run the length of New Zealand twice, covering 3,400km. Jade Zaia (Episode #42): Mental health advocate and Founder of Chad Co, a clothing company aiming to encourage more New Zealanders to speak about their mental health.
