Saturnalia Cave-Woman From Outer Space
We start this weeks episode with Lee suffering a head cold. Meanwhile Jim has car tech trouble, but manages to watch Parasite The Grey, Fallout and is looking forward to something that sounds like Shart Lake, which has nothing to do with Thames Water we're relably informed. Elsewhere Elton watches the very cheerful Zone of Interest and then quizzes the guys with IT Skills to find his Outlook search bar... Darren on the other hand manages to watch Civil War, play Clone Hero and also has a disco fridge. While Lee, plays Hi Fi Rush, watches Three Body Problem and then lets you know what not to talk to a quantum physicist about, if you ever have a chance to meet one. Then after some feedback and a little note about a random uptick in listeners thanks to some random coincidence involving a country & western pop princess we move on to this weeks film. Saturnalia Cave-Woman of Outer Space... Dear god help us. Trainspotting
This weeks shambles is solely Lees fault due to his inability to read an email, or a diary or tell the difference between the number 16 and 23. However, this week, Jim laments the quality of graffiti these days and witnesses a police raid on a old age pensioner drugs ring. Elton wonders why everything sounds so odd in Three Body Problem. Darren gets a shiny head and says a lot (without saying a lot) about Fallout the TV show. While Lee suffers gastric issues thanks to a weekend of Guinness, Pizza and a burger that has mac n cheese hidden under a cheese burger. Then after a quick bout of feedback its on to this weeks film. A movie that asks you to "choose life" or better yet choose friends who are not violence addicted psychotics and heroine junkies as we go Trainspotting. Roadhouse (2024)
This week Jim returns to normality, but still manages to watch a film about screaming foreheads. Elton runs, well walks, well kinda misses, a half marathon. Darren gets a new(ish) phone which is not wanted by the police, HONEST! He also watches Monkey Man and plays a horror game fighting Muppets (as you do). While Lee takes part in a film quiz, in a cinema, surrounded by "media studies" students, a pillow of popcorn hangs in the balance. And he also watches a creepy low budget indie film found in the depths of Amazon Primes rent list. Then after some feedback for last weeks episode we move on to this weeks film. A remake (kinda) of the Patrick Swayze 1989 action classic Roadhouse which should have perhaps been renamed Beach Front Tiki Bar. This week Jim watches Madam Web, pray for mojo. Elton has a Traitors evening and spends most of this evening trying to explain to Lee what Traitors is. While Darren works over the holiday break, enjoys Blue Eyed Samurai and comes under questioning about Batman and Ninjas... Also we may have slipped into the 1930s gangster speak which makes sense in context... I won't try and explain it here. Then after a bit of feedback its off to the 80s to point at stuff and say "thats a bit rubbish" over and over, while trying to find a serial killer in a Max Headroom mask, in this weeks movie Totally Killer. This week due to unforseen circumstances which may or may not be introducing us to GI Joe, Elton is not in the first half of the podcast as he has gone to live with all your missing childhood pets on a farm. Elsewhere however, Jim is astounded by another oddly normal cryptid and is interviewed on a YouTube channel... Darren watches The Gentleman and also is overcome with emotion thanks to Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire. While Lee watches the latest found footage horror hot ticket Late Night With The Devil and the Netflix film Damsel Then after that we get seriously self congratulatory with all the positive feedback from last weeks episode and finally move on to this weeks film. This week is.... Well... Its a thing... We see the return of Darron Diamond (just long enough for us to probably be hit with enough copyright issues to ensure we never show up on any platform again) Elsewhere Jim watches Community and the second week of batchelordom causes him to wonder about Emergency Ambulances in a way that might confuse and confound. Elton spends his week becoming an emotional wreck thanks to the ending of several tv shows. Darren watches Code 8 Part 2 and gets excited by Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow comic, while Lee whiles away a Saturday night watching Sam Rockwell dance and Anna Kendrick turn manic pixie dream girl up to insanely irritating levels in the Neflix show Mr Right. Then after some feedback for last weeks show its on to the main event... Darren falls asleep to Sandra Bullocks Lost City while Lee foils Bromleys most inept movie pirate operation, loses his headphones and has a cinema to himself to watch Dune part two in the front most centre seat. Well perhaps slightly skew it until the weird Russian accents kick in.... AAAAAAnyway... This week Jim spots a (kinda) Cryptid amongst the tombstones and is besieged by tech issues, Elton goes dental, Darren reads some books and watches Dune 2: Sandy Boogaloo, while Lee watches a French crime series which may have a scene of people in animal mascot costumes doing naughty things... oh and he is almost killed by a cheese and pickle sandwich. After that its on to this weeks movie... It was supposed to be Taking of Pelham 123, but Amazon, MGM and Google screwed the pooch on that... Then after some feedback regarding Ben Affleck in The Accountant and a misunderstanding of what film we reviewed last week, we move on to this weeks movie. Is it a comedy-horror? a horror-comedy? Then after a touch of feedback its on to this weeks film... Ready Or Not
This week Jim has some words for the transport company running the Trans Pennine Express... Especially the use of the word "Express". Elton suffers at the hands (or comments) of arm chair world war 2 aviation "experts". While Darren plays knock off PokeMon (or is that Pikey Mon?) in the form of PalWorld. He also has an uncomfortable time watching Emma Stone in Poor Things in the cinema. Lee on the other hand is having a whale of a time cleaning patios in a video game, namely Power Wash Simulator... Add to that some updates about republishing Blackdog Version 1, guessing how close we are to the apocalypse based on the price of Freddo Frog chocolates, some woefully inaccurate reporting of world news events and moaning about how loud pubs are and you'd think that was the podcast done. BUT NO! Air fryers continue to plague the discussion to the point it is now being considered about pivoting the cast to simply a cheap ass cooking show. Elton, is proud of his artist mum and also teases a new podcast project that is in double umbongo embargo. Meanwhile Darren dives into YouTube to find out if the tv shows he liked as a kid in the 70s hold up (spoiler noooope!) and finally Lee watches two lacklustre movies (Role Play and Ghostbuster:Afterlife) and then recounts a trip to the planet Avora, a world of cocktails and out of work panto actors in trendy Hoxton area of London. Oh and how do you say Ibuprophen?... Lee appears to have it a little wrong... He also watches some weird chrismas films in preparation for next years season on the cast. Meanwhile Elton has tooth trouble (OUCH!) gets his arse kicked at PS5 FIFA Football and also uncovers a mystery console. Darren gives us a sofa update and has a festive christmas watch of The Mist... What can I say, this is a long episode with a lot to process... From great hopeful health news for Jim, to tap drama for Elton, Darren being excited by an air fryer and Lee getting savaged (and possibly super powers) from a rabid squirrel. Add to that interesting feedback for last weeks episode and then its on to this weeks movie which is either a parable about greed, class, selfishness and social hierarchy or.... Alone in the Dark: Commentary Club
Hey everyone and welcome to Halloween... Welp! We did it! We did four horror films over October and released this episode on Halloween itself! Wow! How do we celebrate? By combining Blackdog chaos with Jim and Teresa doing a Commentary club on Uwe Bolls "masterpiece" Alone In The Dark, which is currently available on Amazon Prime. It is a watch along episode as all of us descend in to drunken madness. So if you have no intention of watching this absolute nonsense then probably best skip an episode which sounds like the last captains log of the USS Event Horizon. Otherwise pull up a chair, a lot of booze, slap the film on and watch along as we slowly go mad trying to work out why Father Ted wants a Phillips screwdriver from the bottom of the ocean, why a ZBrush tutorial is apparently scary, what on Earth is so sexy about Ninah Cherry and Youssou N'Dour and why one soldier is so obsessed about lights.. There may also be wine tasting tips and a lot of B Roll footage... Who knows... I'm drunk writing this stuff... Just be glad its spelt right!

This week Jim gets into Brand New Cherry Flavour (not what you think) and a gets used as a pin cushion. Elton, gets a new roof and spends almost as much on complementary sandwiches, Darren asks Who is Erin Carter and Lee checks in at The Continental... Plus there is some feedback and somewhere along the line the ghost of Paul Shane joins us along with Bez from the Happy Monday communicating deep concepts with us through the medium of maracas. After all that its time to get into reviewing the worlds worst AirBnB booking as we watch Barbarian. ________________ Music "Boogie Party" and "Farting Around" Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com) Licensed under Creative Commons: By Attribution 4.0 License http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/

This week Elton goes up the Post Office tower and rants at passwords and the ULEZ scheme, Darren goes on a murderous rampage in Starfield because the game wants him to play it, while Lee goes cold water swimming and has an unfortunate email interaction. Then after some feedback for Last Night In Soho, the guys set about reviewing Dashcam (2021) which is not to be confused with Dashcam (2021) and in the process learn a lot about Adobe Premier and Audition plugins... Last Night In Soho
This week Jim is back from a break, Darren is off touring the galaxy in the game Starfield and Lee celebrates a 25th wedding anniversary with food and alcohol decadence... Elton on the other hand is off this week because the double whammy of Space Mutiny and Indiana Jones 5 broke his mind. After some feedback (mainly giving Indy a kickin') we move on to this weeks film. Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny
Welcome back to this weeks episode of The Blackdog Podcast. This week Jim is away. So Lee tries to fill the void with extra dose of poorly delivered dad jokes before we move on to everyones week, including Eltons shock that there is a national cinema day and Darren falling into a hell of generic superhero cliches watching Blue Beetle, followed by Jurassic Park. Lee on the other hand, climbs Elizabeth Tower and gets his insides liquidised thanks to close proximity to the Big Ben bell as it struck the hour. As well as visiting a "pug cafe" and watching in quick succession the Daniel Craig James Bond movies and gaining a new appreciation for them in the process. Then, after a bit of feedback (and a possible threat of watching more Reb Brown movies in the future its on to this weeks film) which due to a small streaming error changed from the scheduled film The Vikings, into Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny... Which may actually be about Archimedes going to Timpsons key cutters, watch repairs and shoe weather treating oh dear...
