Flash Floods in St. Louis, Choco Tacos, and Saudi Arabia creates Hunger Games in Real Life! In the 103rd episode of the Brofessional Development Podcast, Bobby and Sal will talk about some current events such as Sal’s trip to Las Vegas, what and when their next event is going to be, the St. Louis flash flood, choco tacos, and about Saudi Arabia building the next Hunger Games. Stay tuned! About Sal [0:37] Sal is flying to Las Vegas for the first time in his life for his friend’s bachelor party. He is also going to turn 29 on his birthday on Saturday. Las Vegas Trip [1:11] Sal hasn’t really hung out with most of them, so it will be the first time for him. They’re planning to play golf, and Sal says he isn’t very good with it. Bobby mentions he will be in Vegas too in under a month. Upcoming Events [4:58] Bobby has a weekend golf tournament for a charity scramble for the St. Louis Sports Commission with Matt James. They also have an event on August 17th for Drive Social Media with special guest speaker Zack Schafer talking about conflict management and other difficult conversations. Flash Flood [5:56] Bobby talks about the St. Louis flash flood and how he saw multiple warnings about it on his phone. He went on throughout his day until there was a torrential downpour halfway through his walk, and it ended up being worse and worse. Total rainfall for that day was nine inches, 25% of what St. Louis usually gets for the year. Lotteries [11:19] Sal talks about how when the prize money gets really high, he and his friends would pitch in and plan to split up the money if they win. Bobby wonders how people who won the lottery go broke eventually and compares them to professional athletes who get paid big but eventually go bankrupt. Sports [15:24] Sal and Bobby talk about sports and the organizational moves of teams. Teams who were perennial threats to almost nothing overnight. Saudi Arabia’s Plans [20:20] Saudi Arabia released plans for a 100-mile long, 200-meter wide, mirrored vertical city across the desert—a massive city in just one single line across the desert. Sal and Bobby share their thoughts about it, especially on how it will affect the surrounding ecosystem.
