Navigating the Education System
In this episode, I discuss my experience navigating the education system as an Oneida student with multiple transitions. I speak about my personal challenges and the system problems with First Nations education in my community school and beyond the provincial school system. This way you can hear firsthand about the exclusion, bullying, and confrontation I faced as a young person figuring out how to go through these systems while struggling with identity, body image, and abandonment issues. My intention with this episode is to share my experience so educators and non-Indigenous people can learn from my experience some of the challenges I faced over my K-12 educational pathway.
