Their journey into the realm of fertility began in 2019 with a diagnosis of PCOS. In 2020, they embarked on the IVF path after the first egg retrieval, resulting in six untested embryos. They opted for IVF over IUI due to their spouse's prolonged absence, hoping for a swifter path to parenthood. However, the uncertainty of IVF soon became evident. The heartbreak of a miscarriage during the initial embryo transfer compelled them to seek answers and embrace a more holistic approach. They turned to Dr. Kela, implementing her specialized programs to enhance fertility. Additionally, changing to a clinic with extended hours played a pivotal role. In December 2020, they underwent a second embryo transfer, despite the lining measuring at 6.5mm. This time, the outcome yielded two normal embryos. Their family welcomed a beautiful daughter in August 2021, eliminating the necessity for a surrogate. Dr. Kela's guidance not only steered them towards a healthier lifestyle and improved fertility but also facilitated a 20-pound weight loss. Her undergraduate studies took her to Maryland where she met her spouse who was her research mentor at Johns Hopkins University. It was in graduate school at Stanford University when they actually dated. Marriage came five years later, and the decision to expand their family came about another five years later. Having PCOS, Linda knew it might be challenging and turned to her doctors for help. They asked questions about symptoms and did blood work but never asked about lifestyle or other stressors. After a chemical miscarriage on letrozole, Linda believed there had to be a more holistic approach before attempting IUI and IVF. That's when she found Dr. Kela Smith's Hormone PUZZLE.
