Following His voice means hearing and recognizing truth, even when that truth is uncomfortable because it exposes the lies we've been living. Discipleship is like sparring – it's challenging, sometimes painful, but it prepares you for the real fight and helps you win the battles in your life. It involves digging deep and laying your foundation on the rock, not just building on the surface with intellectual knowledge. This deep work means letting God put His shovel into your heart and address the core issues. While building high quickly might draw attention, the lasting structure comes from digging deep and taking the necessary steps. A key lesson is the fundamental importance of repenting from evil deeds and placing faith in God. You cannot follow Jesus and yourself at the same time. True promotion and increase come from God, not the world.
