Modeling Civil Discourse on IG Live: Trump, Vaccines, and Thinking Clearly

Modeling Civil Discourse on IG Live: Trump, Vaccines, and Thinking Clearly
This is a conversation I had today with a frequent commenter on my Instagram account. While it was not as productive, as I would have hoped, I believe that a primary reason why it didn’t evolve into angry, personal attacks and ugliness is because I maintained a commitment to my “three pillars” of humility, genuine, curiosity, and grace . The conversation was about politics and at the core of it, I believe that disagreements or misunderstandings about the difference between objectivity and subjectivity are the root of disagreement . Whether it be due to ego, ideological possession, or something else… Applying the strategies that I breakdown in my free guide “Debate to Dialogue” helped maintain a sense of TRYING to be productive. For this episode, I thought I would sit down and do a solo episode since that is what a lot of people seem to have been asking for. I want to take on current topics that are relevant or controversial and do a deep dive to highlight different perspectives and viewpoints on said topics. For today, I thought I’d start with the concept of the deep state because that always gets people talking. In the episode, I covered questions like what or who is the deep state and whether the deep state is just normal human nature. I do a deep dive into Trump and how he has affected our nation’s perception of the deep state. I talk about how the anti-establishment has changed drastically over the last few decades and how we can move forward towards a less corrupt future. A Pro-Choice Perspective on Abortion with Activist Bronte Remsik
In this episode of Cylinder Radio, I speak with medical student and pro-choice social media influencer Bronte Remsik. You might know Bronte when she joined Micheal Knowles in an interview to debate abortion. (Link to the interview below!) In this interview, I wanted to speak with Bronte and attempt to cover the issue of abortion with more nuance and curiosity. We speak about what went wrong in her debate with Micheal Knowles and flesh out many different aspects of the pro-choice vs pro-life debate, such as having access to help, the impact of casual sex and our self-centred culture. — LEARN MORE ABOUT BRONTE REMSIK — Interview with Micheal Knowles: TikTok: Instagram: Be Kind And Curious: — HELP ME SUPPORT DECRIMINALIZE NATURE — Website: Donate: My podcast interview: — LISTEN TO CYLINDER RADIO — Website: Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/cylinder-radio/id1448662116 YouTube: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLon6GBsGLBQs21-45o3Iixr7DvhnbHZ1T — SUPPORT MY WORK — Patreon: Instagram: My Website:

How To Navigate Changing Belief Systems With An Open Mind With Comedian Jamie Kilstein
In this episode of Cylinder Radio, I speak to comedian, podcaster and writer Jamie Kilstein who has developed his thinking in a very public way over the last few years. Because his story aligns so closely with the mission of Cylinder Radio, I thought he would be the perfect guest to talk about his life and how we got to where he is today. During the episode, we speak about Jamie’s story of being a liberal and how he slowly came to questions all of his beliefs. We talk about how his thinking process developed, where he thinks that change came from and how aspects of religion and psychedelics helped him open his mind to change. — LEARN MORE ABOUT JAMIE KILSTEIN — Advice Not Taken: Website: Instagram: Twitter: — HELP ME SUPPORT DECRIMINALIZE NATURE — Website: Donate: My podcast interview: — LISTEN TO CYLINDER RADIO — Website: Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/cylinder-radio/id1448662116 YouTube: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLon6GBsGLBQs21-45o3Iixr7DvhnbHZ1T — SUPPORT MY WORK — Patreon: Instagram: My Website:
