Connected Numeracy
Connected Numeracy connects concepts and explores approaches that make maths meaningful - for those shaping learning, one conversation at a time. The Connected Numeracy Podcast explores what makes numeracy come alive: how we teach it, how we make sense of concepts ourselves, and how we connect learners to the power of mathematics. Hosted by Connected Stories co-founder Laura Kinsey, with Lesley Ravenscroft and Denise Campbell, the podcast brings together mathematicians, teachers, researchers, and education leaders to share ideas shaping numeracy today. Drawing on work in the UK and internationally, it explores what works, what inspires, and how to engage learners wherever they are on their journey. At the heart of the approach is learning for understanding, where numeracy opens up a world of problem-solving, and mistakes are part of the story. There is a kind of magic in these spaces, where curiosity flows. The challenge, of course, is how to hold onto that magic while meeting the demands of the classroom. If you are passionate about teaching for understanding, curious about current thinking in numeracy, or committed to making maths meaningful for every learner, you will feel at home here.
