My Story of Grief and Acceptance

My Story of Grief and Acceptance
Grief has been woven into my story since the day I was born. My birth story isn't just the story of how I came into this world. It's also the story of a loss that happened the very same day—the death of my uncle, someone I would never get the chance to know in the traditional sense, but who would become an incredibly important part of my life. In this episode, I'm sharing the beginning of my story: the circumstances surrounding my birth, the relationship I learned to build with an uncle I never physically knew, and the spiritual connections, conversations, and experiences I've had with him throughout my life. For me, grief, spirituality, and connection have always been intertwined. And years later, when I was 27 and lost my dad—my best friend, my safe place, my person—that relationship with loss took on an entirely different meaning. Nothing could have prepared me for the heartbreak of losing my dad. But in some ways, the connection I had already built with my uncle prepared me to understand that a relationship doesn't necessarily end when someone dies. This episode is about grief, but it's also about connection. It's about the experiences I can't always explain, the ways I've continued relationships with people I love after death, and how those experiences have shaped who I am, how I heal, and the work I do today. Some stories don't begin where we think they do. Mine begins the day I was born—with both a beginning and an ending. And I think I've been learning what it means to hold both ever since. 📩 Join my newsletter for exclusive insights, podcast updates, and free downloads designed to support your healing journey. 📱 Follow me on Instagram @authenticallyronda for behind-the-scenes moments, encouragement, and daily reminders that you don't have to carry it all alone. What is Trauma? How to Process It and How to Cope

What is Trauma? How to Process It and How to Cope
When most people hear the word trauma, they think of one life-changing event. But trauma isn't always about what happened to you—it's also about what happened inside of you because of what happened. In this episode, we're breaking down what trauma really is, how it affects your brain, body, and nervous system, and why two people can experience the same event but respond in completely different ways. We'll talk about the survival responses of fight, flight, freeze, and fawn, why your reactions make sense, and how trauma can quietly shape the way you think, feel, and connect with others. Most importantly, we'll explore what healing actually looks like. I'll share practical ways to begin processing trauma safely, coping with overwhelming emotions, and taking small, meaningful steps toward healing without expecting yourself to "just get over it." If you've ever wondered why you react the way you do, why certain situations feel bigger than they should, or whether healing is really possible, this episode is for you. Healing doesn't begin when you stop hurting. It begins when you start understanding why you hurt in the first place. 📩 Join my newsletter for exclusive insights, podcast updates, and free downloads designed to support your healing journey. https://www.healingfeatherstherapy.com/authenticallyronda 📱 Follow me on Instagram @authenticallyronda for behind-the-scenes moments, encouragement, and daily reminders that you don't have to carry it all alone. What Healing Actually Looks Like (And It's Not What You See On Instagram)

What Healing Actually Looks Like (And It's Not What You See On Instagram)
Healing isn't always peaceful. It doesn't always look like morning routines, meditation, journaling, or inspiring quotes. Sometimes healing looks like setting a boundary for the first time, crying in your car after therapy, grieving the version of yourself that learned to survive, or simply choosing to rest without feeling guilty. In this episode, we're talking about what healing actually looks like—the messy, uncomfortable, beautiful process that happens behind the scenes. We'll explore why healing isn't linear, why setbacks don't mean you're failing, and how true growth often happens in the quiet moments that no one posts about. I'll also share some of the misconceptions about healing that can leave us feeling discouraged and remind you why giving yourself grace is one of the most important parts of the journey. If you've ever wondered why your healing doesn't look like everyone else's, this episode is your reminder that there is no perfect timeline, no perfect process, and no perfect way to heal. Healing isn't about becoming a different person. It's about returning to the person you were always meant to be. Finding Your Way Back To Yourself
Who are you underneath all the roles you've been expected to play? In this episode, we're exploring what it really means to live authentically—and why so many of us lose touch with who we are along the way. When you've spent years being the strong one, the helper, the peacekeeper, or the person everyone depends on, it can become difficult to separate who you truly are from the survival patterns you've learned. Authenticity isn't about becoming someone different; it's about peeling back the layers of expectations, fear, and self-protection so you can reconnect with the person you've always been. Together, we'll talk about why we disconnect from ourselves, how survival shapes our identity, and simple ways you can begin returning to yourself with more compassion and intention. If you've ever found yourself wondering, "Who am I when I'm not taking care of everyone else?" this episode is for you.
