The Creeper Gallery: Where Haunted Objects Come to Life
Episode 42: In this episode of Slice of the Paranormal, we travel to New Hope Pennsylvania to explore The Creeper Gallery, a strange and haunted antique shop packed with cursed dolls, ghost stories, and a chilling atmosphere you can feel the second you walk in. The gallery was created by artist and collector Donna Marian. Inside, she’s blended her dark gothic art with haunted objects and paranormal energy. Visitors and investigators have reported encounters with multiple spirits, including Mike the Hanging Ghost and Madeleine, the ghost of a young girl believed to haunt a doll in the store. The shop’s infamous Red Room is filled with creepy items Donna has collected over the years, many of them allegedly cursed or connected to documented hauntings. Paranormal investigator John Ruggiero, founder of New Jersey Paranormal, has explored the location multiple times. The footage they’ve captured? Truly unsettling. We went to see it all for ourselves. And as always, we ended the investigation with a stop for local pizza at Market Pizza just down the street. Watch now and experience one of Pennsylvania’s most haunted places. Ghosts. History. Pizza. H.H. Holmes: America’s First Serial Killer – Interview with Jeff Mudgett
Episode 35: In this gripping episode of Slice of the Paranormal, we sit down with Jeff Mudgett, author of Bloodstains and co-host of the History Channel’s American Ripper, to explore the chilling legacy of one of America’s most infamous figures—H. H. Holmes. Jeff isn’t just a bestselling author and former U.S. Naval Reserve commander—he’s also the great-great-great-grandson of H. H. Holmes, the man believed to be America's first serial killer. Holmes is best known for constructing the terrifying “Murder Castle” during the 1893 Chicago World’s Fair—but his dark trail didn’t end there. We walk listeners through the twisted history of Holmes’ crimes, from the maze-like hotel in Chicago to his strange final days in Philadelphia, where he was supposedly executed. The Slice team even visited the site where Holmes was hanged—and yes, we grabbed a slice of pizza just steps away from that historic (and macabre) location. Together with Jeff, we unravel new theories and lingering questions: Did H. H. Holmes really die at the gallows? Could he have escaped justice and continued killing? Was Holmes actually Jack the Ripper? Could he have written the infamous Ripper letters? From historic records to family secrets, we dig deep into the shadowy overlap between Chicago, Philadelphia, and Victorian London. 🎙️ Don’t miss this chilling conversation that merges genealogy, true crime, and paranormal speculation. She Screamed When He Shut the Window: The Ghosts of Penn’s Tavern
Episode 34: In today’s episode of Slice of the Paranormal, we visit one of my favorite haunted hotspots in Central Pennsylvania: the historic Penn’s Tavern, just south of Sunbury. This 1700s-era waterfront tavern is packed with ghost stories, folklore, and chilling firsthand encounters. If you’re into haunted restaurants with a side of history—and maybe a ghost in your glass—this one’s for you. Penn’s Tavern is no stranger to the supernatural. Many have seen the Woman in the Blue Dress gazing out from upstairs windows. Local legend suggests she may be the spirit of John Penn’s wife, who died in an upper room centuries ago. Then there’s the infamous Lady in Red, spotted descending the main staircase and wandering the dining area—rumored to have met a violent end on the property and possibly buried in the basement. Guests and staff alike have reported seeing a group of Civil War soldiers near the bar, sometimes gathered around a card game in the dining room. One of the tavern’s former owners, Buddy Baker, had countless ghostly run-ins—most famously triggering a blood-curdling scream from the Lady in Red after closing a window during a storm. And if you find yourself by the fireplace, don’t be surprised if you spot the ghost of a 1900s workman, still warming his hands after all these years. Haunted Penn’s Tavern is a must-see for paranormal enthusiasts, ghost hunters, and fans of local legends. Come for the history, hauntings, and incredible food—stay for the spirits, both supernatural and top-shelf. 👻 Featured Sources: “Penns Tavern” by Beverly Conrad, Paranormal Pennsylvania and Beyond (Issue 6, 2003) “The Headless Dog” by Beverly Conrad & Gregory Burgess (2013) “The Wolfman’s Grave” by Beverly Conrad & Gregory Burgess (2024) Eastern Pennsylvania Ghost Files by Charles J. The Wolfman’s Grave: Werewolf Legends of Pennsylvania’s Forgotten Counties
Episode 32: The Wolfman’s Grave: Werewolf Legends of Pennsylvania’s Forgotten Counties In this shadowy tale from Northumberland County, Pennsylvania, we dig into one of the state’s most chilling legends: the lost grave of a werewolf said to rest near Schwaben Creek, beneath the watchful presence of Himmel Church, its old cemetery, and a covered bridge steeped in silence. Local lore tells of “Die Woolf Man’s Grob”—The Wolfman’s Grave—a burial site now vanished from maps and memory. Here, a solitary figure known only as the Hermit Werewolf was once laid to rest, where his shack crumbled long ago. The Paul family tombstones still stand in the nearby cemetery, but the werewolf’s grave has been lost to time. Still, whispers say a phantom gray wolf prowls the area, eyes glowing under moonlight, leaving pawprints where no beast should tread. Our own Steven had a brush with this spectral predator one night under a pale moon, and in this episode, we unpack that encounter along with other Pennsylvania werewolf stories, stretching beyond Northumberland to forgotten corners of the state. Join the Slice of the Paranormal team as we track down shape-shifters, haunted hollows, and long-buried truths. Sheppton Mine Disaster
Episode 16: Today Slice of the Paranormal visits Knoebels Grove Amusement Parks…. Anthracite Heritage Museum in Elysburg, Pennsylvania. We are going to see the harness that saved the lives of two men…Henry Throne and David Fellin in 1963. The harness is interesting, but the tale these two men told of what they saw in the mine defies explanation. They saw ghost miners, doors opening to staircases, and even a recently deceased pope. Attempts to contact the third miner, Louis Bova, were unsuccessful. In 1971, The Buoys recorded a hit single "Timothy", about three miners trapped underground due to a cave-in, with only two of them surviving and a strong implication they survived by cannibalizing the third. This led many to assume the song was inspired by the Sheppton disaster, but songwriter Rupert Holmes insisted he had never heard of the incident and would not have written the song if he had. The book “Sheppton: The Myth, Miracle & Music” by Maxim Furek explored themes of the miraculous and supernatural at the Sheppton disaster site. New Haven CT Cemetery and the Center Church Crypt
Episode 13: Slice of the Paranormal travels to New Haven, Connecticut. The Evergreen Cemetery is one of the most well-known haunted places in New Haven. The most popular ghost story is the legend of Mary Hart. In 1872, Mary Hart was supposedly buried alive. Her ghost has been said to be seen near her grave at midnight, as well as sometimes catching a ride or dishing out punishments to those that disrespect her grave. In this episode we show a rather active K2 Meter session at her grave. We also travel to the Center Church Crypt in New Haven. The New Haven Crypt, which dates back to 1687, can be found underneath its fourth and present church which is located at New Haven Green. People report seeing ghosts in the crypt which contains the graves of a few notable New Haven residents. Margaret Arnold; the first wife of Benedict Arnold is buried here. Theophilus Eaton, one of the founders of New Haven and the church is also said to haunt the site. People claim they hear a voice asking if they have been saved. Sometimes they even see a face that asks this question and realize it’s Theophilus Eaton. The Green in front of the church contains the remains of 5,000 to 10,000 people, so watch where you step…. Those aren’t always animal bones protruding from the ground on the Green. Links to the sites: Evergreen Cemetery, New Haven, Connecticut Center Church
