Talking Peak Performance and Resilience with an Olympian and NFL Super Bowl kicker Thank you for tuning in to Tackling Brain Health where we talk all things peak perfomance, brain health, sports, how Neurologics can help optimize your brain, etc. Today KOB (Karen Odell-Barber-our Founder) is talking with former NFL Super Bowl kicker, "Super Steve", Stephen Hauschka and Olympian, liver transplant patient, actor, singer, pro football player, tennis pro, coach, etc. Howard Dell. Two super stars in peak perforamnce and in life! Todays episode covers Howard's transition for learning he had 3 months to live, to transplant, to then competing in the Olympics and optimizing his brain performance with Neuroligics. There is no stopping Howard! He is the definition of peak perfomance. Stephen talks about what it's like to win the Super Bowl...the highs and lows associated with it. How do athletes handle the pressure? The new frontier of brain health and how peak performance is what you are doing every day for your body. Howard, after numerous concussions and having an aging (over 40 years old) brain, was curious to see what his brains looked like after years of competing in sports. It is known that Olympians have Olympic brains and Howards was no different. His brain map came back all green, no deficits. KOB was shocked. Our engineer was not surprised, saying, with his Olympic brain, he had IQ points to loose becuase he had cognitive reserve. Stephen, with his degree in neuroscience and years of playing sports also wanted to learn more about his own brain and went through Neurologics Mapping. Stephen's brain was an extremely high performing brain as well. Doing the mapping motivated him to want to share Neurologics technology.
