Jesus and the Cure for Troubled Hearts

Jesus and the Cure for Troubled Hearts
Do you feel that, despite the world’s advice and answers, your life and its circumstances are still out of your depth? Leave your way and your previous solutions — and turn to Jesus. This week, Pastor Filmore continues the “I Am” series by exploring one of Jesus’ most powerful declarations in John 14: “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life.” In a world that tells us peace comes through control, success, or hard work, Jesus tells us that true peace is found only in Him. He is the cure for troubled hearts. He urges us not to let our hearts be troubled because He has gone to prepare a place for us. This is not just a promise for the future but a call to shift your focus now. We’re not called to have it all figured out. Jesus reminds us that the point of life isn’t about the where, it’s about the Who. This week, when you find yourself fixated on where to go, what decision to make, or when it will all work out you are invited to pause. Shift your focus and rest in the One who is the Way. Jesus and the Hope We Can’t Live Without

Jesus and the Hope We Can’t Live Without
Just because it feels like the end doesn't mean it is. This week, Pastor Filmore walks us through the powerful moment in John 11 where Jesus’ delay leads to resurrection. As we wrestle with grief, unanswered prayers, and lingering disappointments, we’re reminded that Jesus doesn’t just offer resurrection — He is resurrection. He enters our pain, weeps with us, and speaks life into places that feel beyond hope. Maybe what feels like the end is actually just the middle. And maybe Jesus is setting you up not just for a miracle, but for a deeper faith. If you’re in a season of waiting, doubting, or grieving, this message is for you. Let it remind you that death doesn’t have the final word — Jesus does. Scripture References: John 11:1–44 1 Thessalonians 4:13 Romans 8:11 Isaiah 61:3 [Connect with Onechurch]

God Within Us
06/09/2025
God Within Us
Do you feel unready, inadequate, or incompetent? Then rejoice! Our lack and weakness is where God’s ability picks up. On this Day of Pentecost, Pastor Filmore reminds us of that powerful moment in Acts 2 where we see the beginning of the New Testament church — the wedding of Christ and the Church. Jesus tells us that He is leaving for our benefit, to leave with us a Helper who will empower our lives. The world urges us to move only when we are sure, but God calls us to move because He is sure. We must not confuse certainty with the faith we truly need. The power and presence of God do not require perfect conditions. You do not need all your feelings of fear or insecurity to go away; you need the Spirit of God to overshadow them. As you reflect on this message, shift the posture of your heart from control and the need for certainty to faith and expectation. Another Sermon About Grace

Another Sermon About Grace
Are you mistaking tolerance for Grace? This Sunday, Pastor Filmore invites us into a deeper understanding of what real grace looks like. Drawing from Luke 7, where Jesus dines in the house of a Pharisee, we see that grace isnt encountered through pretense or performacne. We cannot try to manage Jesus and think that we are inviting Him in on our terms and in our atmosphere. True grace is met in honesty and surrender. This story reminds us that the depth of our experience with grace is linked to the depth of our devotion. When we stop seeing Jesus as an observer in our live but as a loving savior that loves fully and completely we encounter a grace that begins a transformative work in us. The grace of Jesus is not selective or polite. It is scandalus, transformative and personal. This week truly receive it and see how it changes everything. Jesus and the Love You Need
Have you ever felt that our culture overpromises and underdelivers? This Sunday, Pastor Filmore continues with Jesus' "I am" statements. In John 10, Jesus describes Himself as the Good Shepherd. He reminds us that there is no one more invested in our well-being than Him. In a world full of noise, manipulation, and people always clawing for our attention, we have a radical offer from Christ: sacrificial love, faithful presence, and transforming grace. He leads us with a heart oriented toward our growth and His glory. Following Jesus reframes everything. We can shift our focus from earning His love to surrendering to a covenant of grace. This week, rest in His sacrifice, marvel within it, and ask it to change you. Jesus and the Door That Matters Most

Jesus and the Door That Matters Most
Have you ever felt like you’re on the outside looking in—longing for peace, purpose, or belonging, but unsure how to access it? This Sunday, Pastor Filmore unpacked Jesus’ powerful statement in John 10: “I am the door.” In a world full of closed doors and false promises, Jesus offers Himself as the only true way into life, freedom, and relationship with God. We were reminded that the ache we carry—the spiritual homesickness we feel—isn’t a flaw, but a sign. It points us back to Eden, where access to God was once open. Through His life, death, and resurrection, Jesus became the Door that reopens what sin once closed. He doesn't just show us the way — He is the way. Through Him, we find safety, salvation, and deep soul satisfaction. But we can’t walk through the Door if we still believe we can climb the wall ourselves. This week, are you trusting in your own strength — or stepping through the Door that leads to abundant life? Jesus and the Light We Need
05/12/2025
Jesus and the Light We Need
Are you leaning more into the truth of Jesus or the truth of the world? This Sunday, Pastor Filmore reminded us that if we’re not walking in the light of Christ, we risk being deceived. John’s words encourage us to follow God and walk away from darkness, knowing that as Christians, there is no morally neutral ground. We’re either being drawn closer to Jesus or pulled away from Him. Scripture tells us that Jesus is the light—not one of many, but the ultimate source of good, truth, and life. In a world that often exalts self and confuses darkness for light, we’re reminded that our hearts are not meant to be worshiped but led. The same God who spoke light into existence in Genesis now speaks through His Word to illuminate our lives. This week, will you let God's truth guide your heart instead of worshiping your own desires? Joy of the Lord

Joy of the Lord
When everything feels shaky, the joy of the Lord stands firm and becomes your strength. This Sunday, Pastor Roy reminded us that our true strength comes not from ourselves but from God. In moments of doubt, anxiety, and trial, we are called to lift our eyes from our circumstances and fix them on the source of our strength. Drawing from Nehemiah, we’re reminded that the joy of the Lord is not temporary; it is everlasting. It is our anchor and compass in the hardest moments. We are emboldened with the courage to keep going and the strength to stand firm. As we learn to trust Him more deeply, we gain more than peace of mind. This week, how will you respond to the strength and joy God freely offers? Scripture References Nehemiah 8:10 Philippians 4:6–7 James 1:2–3 [Connect with Onechurch]

Jesus and Fulfillment

Jesus and Fulfillment
After Easter, we’re reminded that the story doesn’t end at the empty tomb — it begins with a person: Jesus. This week, Pastor Filmore kicks off our new series Jesus and ____ by focusing on our deep longing for fulfillment. In environments filled with temporary successes and fleeting pleasures, Jesus offers something greater: Himself. When He says, “I am the Bread of Life,” He’s not just giving advice — He’s inviting us to feast on the only sustenance that truly satisfies. What if your restlessness isn’t a problem to fix, but a hunger pointing you home? What if the fullness you’re searching for is found, not in what Jesus can give, but in who He is? Jesus doesn’t just offer us bread for the journey; He is the Bread of Life, the only one who can satisfy what our souls are seeking. The table is set. As we begin this new season, we’re invited to stop chasing what spoils and to find our fulfillment in Him. Easter Sunday: Can We Trust the Resurrection?
The grave has been defeated. Sin has been paid in full. What will you do with this renewed gift? This Easter Sunday, Pastor Filmore invited us to remember and behold the resurrection. Jesus didn’t rise from the dead to make bad people good, but to bring dead people to life. And that same Spirit that raised Him now lives in us ready to give us power to overcome fear, addiction, shame, and doubt. The resurrection gives us a new hope that everything broken will one day be restored, and every wrong made right. This Easter we are reminded that we can’t live in the in-between. We must decide that Jesus is either Lord of all or not Lord at all. The question isn’t just “Did He rise?” It’s “What will you do because He did?” Scripture References Matthew 28:1–7, 17 John 19:25 Romans 6:4 1 Corinthians 15:3–7, 14, 17, 20, 55 Ephesians 1:19–20 [Connect with Onechurch]

Palm Sunday: The Way to Peace
04/14/2025
Palm Sunday: The Way to Peace
Is your peace only as strong as your circumstances? This Palm Sunday, Pastor Levi reminds us that the peace Jesus offers isn’t shaken by shifting seasons or unmet expectations. It is built on His unwavering presence and mercy. We are taken through the chapter of Luke where Jesus enters the city of Jerusalem the crowd cries “Hosanna” and then days later are seen chanting “Crucify Him” Too often, we tie peace to external outcomes; answered prayers, success, comfort, or control. But when things shift, so does our sense of stability. Jesus wept over a city that missed what He came to give: not temporary relief, but deep, lasting, internal peace. Not peace that depends on circumstances, but peace that anchors the soul. As we navigate through this Holy week ask yourself, Have I settled for a fragile peace? The Bible reminds us in Isaiah 26 that He will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are fixed on Him. When your peace is found in Jesus, you’ll find the courage to stand firm and embrace what comes. Gratitude | Soul Care: Week Six
Are you living in entitlement or in gratitude? In the final week of our Soul Care series, Pastor Filmore uses the story in Luke to remind us that living with gratitude brings not only healing for our circumstances but restoration for our souls. As Christians who are growing in our walk with God, it's easy to forget the grace we’ve been given. When we receive blessings and answers to our prayers, we can unknowingly shift from relying on the source -- Jesus -- to feeling entitled to the outcome we desire. Scripture on the other hand teaches every gift we receive is meant to bring us closer to Him, not farther away. This week, take intentional moments to express gratitude for God’s goodness loudly and intentionally. Reflect on the blessings in your life and let them draw you back to Jesus. Make gratitude a priority, and let your heart return to the feet of the One who has given it all. Healing Wounds | Soul Care: Week Five
Are you carrying wounds that still feel sensitive, shaping how you react to the world around you? This week, in the fifth message of our Soul Care series, Pastor Filmore Bouldes unpacks the power of healing from soul wounds. Too often, we carry pain from the past — whether from family, friendships, failures, or even our own choices — that affects how we live today. When left unhealed, these wounds turn everyday life into a trigger, keeping us stuck in cycles of bitterness, anxiety, or insecurity. But there is good news: Jesus doesn’t just forgive — He heals. Healing isn’t about pretending the pain never happened; it’s about seeing your story through the redemptive power of Christ. Pastor Filmore reminds us that healing occurs in proximity to Jesus, in partnership with Him, and through a process that takes time. It requires us to take action, let go of lies we've believed, and trust God with the journey. Your past doesn’t have to define your future. Jesus invites you to receive healing, to break free, and to live in the fullness of His love. Overcoming Sin Cycles | Soul Care: Week Four
Are you living in authentic joy or been finding yourself within unhealthy cycles? This week, in our Soul Care series, Pastor Filmore Bouldes challenges us to break free from sin cycles and build a game plan for victory. Through God's grace, we are empowered to live beyond the destructive patterns that hold us back. Pastor Filmore reminds us that the battle is not just about willpower, but about walking in the victory Jesus has already secured through His death, resurrection, and the gift of the Holy Spirit. This message offers practical steps to help us overcome sin and expect victory because of the strength that is already in us through Christ. The fight is not in vain—it's a fight from victory, not for it. Take action today. Know who you are in Christ, and stand firm in the power of Jesus—because in Him, you are more than a conqueror. The Healing Power of Repentance | Soul Care: Week Three
Is your soul healthy? Are you tapping into the healing power of repentance? This week, continuing our Soul Care series, Pastor Filmore Bouldes explores the sickness of the soul and how we can find true healing in Jesus. In a world that tells us we’re fine just as we are, Jesus calls us to something greater—a life aligned with Him because we are made for so much more. Repentance, often misunderstood, is not about appeasing God but about realigning our hearts with His. Pastor Filmore reminds us that hidden sins—those things we often justify—can accumulate and damage our souls. We are reminded that repentance isn’t a burden; it’s an invitation to freedom and restoration. It’s about turning away from the world and leaning into God's heart, where true healing begins. Building on last week’s message about discovering our true identity in Christ, we explore how to combat the anxiety that unsettles our souls. Are you feeling fear or anxiety? You're not alone. In this powerful sermon, we're reminded that the most frequent command in scripture is 'fear not.' Out With the Old — In With the New | Soul Care: Week One
Who do you get your identity from? Are you trying to fit into what society tells you, or are you listening to the voice of God and what He says about you? This week, Pastor Addison kicks off our new series, Soul Care, focusing on the foundation of our soul — our identity. Reflecting on Jesus' baptism in Matthew 3, we are reminded that our identity comes from who God says we are, not from our external achievements or people's opinions. In a world full of false identities and confusion, we are reminded that through the sacrifice of Jesus, we take on His righteousness and are made new. Join us as we shift our position — from the world’s definition to God’s truth. We’ll discover who we are in Him and how it transforms the way we live. You’re Probably Not Great at This
How do you handle conflict? What if we saw conflict resolution not as a burden, but as a byproduct of what Jesus came to do? As we enter Week Four and wrap up our February Relationship Series, Mixed Signals, Pastor Filmore invites us to rethink how we approach conflict resolution as Christians. The world often views conflicts as battles meant to be won, but God calls us to a different approach—one rooted in peace, forgiveness, and the posture of our hearts. Jesus' life and the teachings from the Bible show us that disagreements are never about attacking the other person, but about addressing the problem. We are called to lay down our pride, lean on the Holy Spirit as our Helper, and seek peace in our relationships, just like Christ has done for us. When we shift our focus from wanting to be heard to reflecting the fruit of the Spirit, we reflect what Christ has done for us. More Than "I Do"
How do you define marriage? Is it about love, compatibility, or personal fulfillment? Or is there a deeper purpose behind this commitment? As we enter Week Three of our February Relationship Series, Mixed Signals, Pastor Addison invites us to explore the contrast between culture’s view of marriage and God’s vision. Marriage, as God designed it, is more than a pursuit of happiness or a perfect match — it is a living testament to His faithfulness, mirroring Christ’s love for the Church. It’s not just a contract but a covenant, a sacred commitment that tells a greater story. This is powerfully illustrated in the story of Hosea. His life paints a striking picture of God’s unwavering love, revealing how marriage—when viewed through the lens of covenant—points us beyond ourselves to something eternal. When we shift our focus from what marriage gives us to the story it tells, we unlock a new way of living, loving, and reflecting God’s purpose. The Naked Truth
Welcome back to Mixed Signals, our February Relationship Series. How would you define sex? How do those around you define sex? In a culture flooded with information about sex, relationships, and identity, God brings clarity. In this week's message, we dive into the one of the most avoided but necessary conversations in the church — God's design for sex. Pastor Filmore highlights that where sexual confusion thrives, sexual chaos follows, but God's blueprint leads to freedom and flourishing. Created within the purpose of deeper intimacy within the covenant of marriage, delight, and procreation, we are reminded that shame was never part of the original plan. Your past does not define our future. Shifting our perspective to loving God as our foundation changes not only how we care for our own bodies but how we love others. God wants the best for your life, and that includes your sex life — not to restrict you, but to set you free and bring genuine joy. Before You Say "I Do"
Welcome to our February Relationship Series: Mixed Signals. In a world full of confusion about dating, sex, and marriage, God brings clarity. If we don’t have a proper understanding of marriage, we won’t take the right approach to dating. In this message, Pastor Filmore helps us explore what it means to date with wisdom, purpose, and biblical guidance — because dating well leads to marrying well. From Jesus' words in Matthew 19 to practical insights on character, chemistry, and community, we unpack the essential elements of Godly relationships. Are we dating to evaluate or just passing time? Are we looking for a person to love or a product to consume? And how do we avoid the trap of unrealistic expectations? Whether you're single, dating, or already married, this conversation will equip you with biblical principles to navigate relationships with clarity, purity, and wisdom. God & the Storm

God & the Storm
Life can feel like a series of unrelenting storms, tossing us around, testing our resolve, and leaving us searching for stability. But what if, in the chaos, we could anchor ourselves to the One who stands with us in our pain? When we're weighted down by hardships and shaken up by trials, it’s natural to pray for the storm to pass quickly. We seek calm waters and solid ground. Jesus' disciples — experienced fishermen — were caught in a fierce sea storm on their way to Capernaum, but as fear overwhelmed them, they made a pivotal decision: invite Jesus into their boat. This week, Pastor Filmore helps us reframe our worship and perspective during life’s hardest moments. He reminds us that while storms are inevitable, we are never alone. In the darkest times, when we call out to the Lord, we discover that no challenge is beyond His power. Instead of fixating on the storm, we learn to focus on the Savior. Join us for a message of hope and assurance: Jesus is in the storm with us, and He is the steady anchor we need. Primary Passage: John 6, verses 16 - 21 [Connect with Onechurch]

This week, Pastor Levi Smith reminds us of the power being available to God in the midst of the impossible, diving into the story of Jesus feeding the five thousand. As Jesus sits on the mountainside with His disciples, He looks out at the thousands following Him. In a moment of testing, He asks Philip a question He already had the answer to — not to shame him, but to invite him into a miracle How often have you felt like you didn’t have enough to see the miracle you’re hoping for? This message brings back to our awareness that when a problem arises, God already has the solution. He doesn’t need us to provide everything — He invites us to offer what we have in faith. Even in seemingly impossible situations, God’s strength stands in our weakness. If you’re feeling weary or burdened, remember this truth: But God. Adding Him into the equation changes everything. What could your life look like if you were fully available to God? Join us as we explore how God is not just a provider — He is the Provider — and how our availability opens the door for His miracles. Less of Me & More of Him

Less of Me & More of Him
On Monday, January 13th, 2025, Onechurch began a collective journey: seven intentional days of fasting. But why fasting? Why has our church chosen to dedicate this week to such a practice? And why should it matter to you in your contemporary, fast-paced life? In this inspiring message, Pastor Filmore thoughtfully unpacks the biblical foundation of fasting, its relevance for today, and its dynamic in transforming not only our spiritual lives but also our daily priorities. More than a tradition, fasting is a powerful opportunity to: Align your decisions with your deepest intentions for growth and transformation. Push back against instant gratification to rediscover true sustenance and purpose. Starve the flesh and feed the Spirit. Quiet distractions and create space for clarity, divine connection, and intimacy with God. Rely on God's strength during challenges and realign with His purpose through intentional surrender. It isn’t just about giving something up; it’s about making room for what truly matters. It is an act of worship and statement that God is the primary voice in our lives. As Pastor Filmore noted, fasting is like "noise-cancelling headphones for your soul." Join Onechurch this week in renewing focus, reclaiming time, and experiencing the transformative power of seeking Jesus with intentionality. We encourage you to reflect on your journey and share your story. God Awareness
Happy New Year from our Onechurch Family! To start 2025, we had the honor and joy of welcoming Pastor Levi Marychurch from New Zealand. Walking through the story of Samson, Pastor Levi explores with us the vital difference between self-awareness and God-awareness, reminding us that Samson’s life is "a cautionary tale of the sense of God's presence in our lives." While self-awareness is valuable for navigating relationships and social environments, Samson’s journey reminds us that true strength and purpose come from prioritizing God-awareness. Join us as we explore practical ways to value, protect, and pursue a deeper relationship with God, ensuring His presence remains at the center of our lives. Let’s treasure God’s presence together this year. Where there is value, there is protection. Scripture References: Judges 13:24-25 Judges 16:1-22 Luke 3:22 [Connect with Onechurch]

Joy That Doesn't Fade
Our lives are full of changing circumstances, but what if your joy could remain steady — unfluctuating — regardless of the state of your present? For example, have you ever felt like your influence was waning? Or perhaps you've experienced seasons of disappointment and doubt? Join us as we delve into the life example of John the Baptist, a man whose heart was fully anchored in God’s plan, rejoicing not in personal gain but in seeing Jesus exalted. In this message, Pastor Filmore helps us uncover the power of humility and the gift of gratitude, discovering how a God-centered life leads to lasting joy – real joy. Learn how to cultivate thankfulness in difficult times, embrace a humble posture with a sober view of oneself, and prioritize God’s glory above personal recognition. "If we have it, God gave it. If they have it, God gave it.” We’re reminded that true joy isn’t tied to success, influence, or circumstances — but to Jesus Christ, the true Treasure. Success Is Not Enough
Have you ever felt like you had it all, only to realize something was missing? There's an inadequacy found with success in providing ultimate fulfillment. Even a highly respected, educated, and successful figure like Nicodemus, a Pharisee and teacher of Israel, recognized his spiritual emptiness. His resume was competitive and his credentials impressive, yet what choice did he make? Sharing from John chapter three, Pastor Filmore walks us into the context surrounding the most famous verse in the Bible. Success, wealth, power, and social status could not satisfy Nicodemus' heart — so he sought Jesus. Join us as we are encouraged to step into Jesus' invitation to experience incomparable transformation, find true fulfillment, and embrace a life of eternal significance through being born again. Nicodemus asked questions and Jesus had answers. For God so loved the world. For God so loved Seattle.
