Hill Harper is a Co-Founder of the Black Wall Street Wallet along with Najah Roberts and is an award-winning actor. He graduated from Harvard Law School and shared classrooms with Barack Obama. I'm all for Hill Harper’s goal to create a digital Black Wall Street (research Tulsa, Ok 1921). I also was happy to have met P. Moses, a lifetime generational activist and the founder of Black Lives Matter - Memphis Chapter. Months after we met, she was arrested and jailed for allegedly trying to register to vote illegally. I believe this should be investigated and looked into, as the racial politics in Memphis are deeply-rooted in America. Jackson, Tn - Carl Perkins Civic Center On this trip, Najah got to meet with Mayor Scott Conger, an alumnus of Lane College, a private HBCU a part of the Methodist Church. Scott Conger is the third member of his family to serve as Mayor of Jackson. He worked as a city councilman in the past, representing District 5 of Midtown Jackson. Mayor Scott Conger shared that he pledged to give city employees the option of converting their paychecks into Bitcoin. He also shared his plans to install a digital mining network in a deserted wing of City Hall. His ultimate goal is to make Jackson a Southeastern tech hub. The people of Jackson, TN were awesome! Dr. LaDonna Boyd is the fifth CEO and has continued their innovation to meet modern needs. This includes focusing on product development, technology, and commercial printing. Cool Valley - Innovation High School On our Cool Valley trip, I was honored to have met Mayor Jayson Stewart. He is a pro-Bitcoin Mayor who was active on Clubhouse in the Black Bitcoin Billionaire multiple times. On Clubhouse, the Co-Founder of Black Bitcoin Billionaire, Lamar Wilson, presented the idea of giving residents $500 in Bitcoin to increase city growth. Not only did Mayor Stewart adopt this idea, he doubled the amount to $1,000 and added some goodwill criteria. In Cool Valley, we spoke to high school kids about Bitcoin and financial success tools. St. Louis - A&B Car Wash I didn’t see anything… I didn’t hear anything… I know nothing… All I remember was seeing Najah running and hearing my bodyguard yelling, “CJ, let’s go!” with extreme bass in his voice. With that being said, the entire St. Louis trip is a blur to me. One exception is eating Sweet Eats Fish & Chicken, which was the best chicken wings we had on tour… Delicious! We held our event at the A&B Phase II Carwash with Alderwoman Shameem Hubbard and DJ T-Bone as our city allies. It inspired me to see more black politicians active in the cryptocurrency space. You’d be surprised at how many politicians have no idea what Bitcoin is. (but they are actively learning now!) Louisville - Club Cedar After we left Chicago, we were meant to attend a full event in Indianapolis, but our timing was off, so we squeezed in what we could and headed towards Louisville, Kentucky. I was extremely excited to finally meet Lamar Wilson. He has been a software developer and pro-bitcoin since 2013. He's also a Co-Founder of the Black Bitcoin Billionaire (BBB) and Co-Author of Bitcoin & the American Dream. I first learned about Lamar from Dr. Boyce Watkins back in 2017. It was inspiring to have networked with him on a peer-to-peer level, not just as a student. We also met with fellow BBB mods, Retti and Black Regal, along with House of Representative Charles Booker of the 43rd District in Louisville, Kentucky for 2019-21. Chicagoans are known for their grittiness, opinionated nature and we received nothing but love from the people attending our speaking events. It was May 21, 2021 and this was my first time on tour where we had two speaking engagements in the same day. The first one was at Christ Tabernacle Church and the second at Brian Leach Basketball Court (formerly known as Hoard Park) We had such a great time! We got to tour Hyde Park, Chicago, which is nothing like the Hyde Park in L.A… IYKYK Obama lives there, and it also holds the DuSable Museum of African American History. We held our second event in the Southside of Chicago. Kweisi Gharreau (poet and tour manager) and his son Navonme Love are from Chicago and they showed up and showed out for them!
