HA is a condition when menstruation stops due to a dysfunction in the hypothalamus. This can be from undereating and working out too much. Caitlin said within her practice she sees a lot of PCOS clients who were diagnosed with polycystic ovarian syndrome actually have HA. She also sees women who have PCOS go on a very restrictive diet and work out too much and develop HA. It's important to add that women of all body sizes can develop HA and if you aren't going over what you are eating with an experienced practitioner this diagnosis may be missed!
