Can Your Pastor Answer James Talarico on Abortion? 10/19/2026

Can Your Pastor Answer James Talarico on Abortion? Gary DeMar discusses the biblical perspectives and the responsibilities of pastors in addressing controversial issues. He critiques the arguments made by James Talarico, emphasizing the need for a clear understanding of the Bible's stance on abortion and the importance of teaching these principles in churches. The unborn child is considered a human being in biblical texts and pastors should be teaching these topics from the pulpit. /episode/index/show/garydemar/id/43347304

Are Christians Who Believe Jesus is Coming Soon 'Born Yesterday'? 10/16/2026

Are Christians Who Believe Jesus is Coming Soon 'Born Yesterday'? Bible Prophecy Under the Microscope-Episode 113 Using the movie Born Yesterday as an example, Gary discusses the history of prophetic speculation, its inaccuracies, and how to interpret biblical prophecy correctly. He emphasizes the importance of understanding the context and warns against falling for false predictions about the end times. /episode/index/show/garydemar/id/43318179

Creating a "Just" Society 10/14/2026

Creating a "Just" Society Gary responds to a recent article by Christian apologist Greg Koukl about Christians being involved in culture and politics. Koukl strangely recommends not using Scripture to make arguments in moral debates, but instead using "common grace and natural revelation." Gary points out that this is a) nothing new, and b) begging the question because who gets to define what's "common" or "natural"? It's essentially every man for himself. Greg Bahnsen's book, By This Standard, can be found here: /episode/index/show/garydemar/id/43281553

Know Your Audience 10/12/2026

Know Your Audience Gary responds to a recent video clip from Lila Rose about abortion and the morality involved with the abortion debate. Every debate in culture is about much more than defeating the opponent, and Gary shows how he would argue the topic and recommends listeners learn the approach taught by Dr. Greg Bahnsen in his three-volume apologetics series that teaches how to "push the antithesis." Get the Bahnsen series here: /episode/index/show/garydemar/id/43251158

Why Don't the Literalists Interpret Ezekiel 38-39 Literally? 10/09/2026

Why Don't the Literalists Interpret Ezekiel 38-39 Literally? Bible Prophecy Under the Microscope-Episode 112 Gary points out that many Bible prophecy writers, who claim to interpret the Bible "literally," don't actually do so. This is especially true of the so-called Battle of Gog and Magog in Ezekiel 38-39. This battle is said to be fought with primitive weapons in ancient countries, with the goal of plundering gold, silver, cattle, and goods. The literalists seldom take these details literally. /episode/index/show/garydemar/id/43228873

Progressives and Presuppositionalists 10/07/2026

Progressives and Presuppositionalists Gary highlights a few "non-negotiables" that he found online from a self-proclaimed "progressive pastor." Apparently, even progressives have limits to their open-mindedness, but this pastor can't appeal to the Bible he claims to believe, or to the "Jesus" he claims to follow, to bolster his own "progressive" agenda. /episode/index/show/garydemar/id/43203203

Transgenderism Weighed, Measured, and Found Wanting 10/05/2026

Transgenderism Weighed, Measured, and Found Wanting Gary weighs, measures, and analyzes the debate over transgender sports with track and field events. His expertise in this sport is both personal and deep. Gary threw the shot put competitively through high school, college, and at the masters' level. He makes it obvious how ridiculous it is to argue that there is no inherent genetic difference between men and women. /episode/index/show/garydemar/id/43166963

What Did Jesus Mean by "A Long Time"? 10/02/2026

What Did Jesus Mean by "A Long Time"? Bible Prophecy Under the Microscope-Episode 111 Gary answers a recent critic who questions whether he is a Christian. When Jesus says "a long time" in Matthew 24 and 25, does this indicate that He means people thousands of years in the future? Is He actually referring to a completely different audience than the one He was directly speaking to in the first century? /episode/index/show/garydemar/id/43130163

The Inescapable Fact of Religion 09/30/2026

The Inescapable Fact of Religion In this continuation of his first lecture given to a high school class, Gary points out that religion will always exist in society. If a culture does not recognize the biblical God, something else will always take His place. Even atheism is a religion, despite the denials of its adherents. /episode/index/show/garydemar/id/43071993

The First Principles of Every Debate 09/28/2026

The First Principles of Every Debate We must always begin with first principles in any debate. In this episode, Gary teaches students how to think about their own assumptions and foundations and why they believe what they claim to believe. Facts are important, but worldview precedes facts and interprets the facts. /episode/index/show/garydemar/id/43055528

Does A Roman Coin Date When Revelation Was Written? 09/25/2026

Does A Roman Coin Date When Revelation Was Written? Bible Prophecy Under the Microscope-Episode 110 Gary responds to a recent video by Joel Richardson about a Roman coin that he claims proves that the book of Revelation was written during Domitian's reign. Richardson challenges those who hold to an early date (i.e., before AD70) to answer his claims, even though he admits that the coin can't actually prove a late date. /episode/index/show/garydemar/id/43025173

Four Views of Revelation 09/23/2026

Four Views of Revelation Gary briefly discusses the four major interpretive approaches to the book of Revelation. Futurism, Historicism, Idealism, and Preterism have all been promoted—to greater and lesser degrees—throughout church history. What others have believed in the past should not determine how the Bible should be understood, but what the Bible itself actually says. /episode/index/show/garydemar/id/42967853

It's Just Not There 09/21/2026

It's Just Not There Gary begins a short lesson on the four views of the book of Revelation. He begins with the most popular: futurism. The vast majority of futurists are premillennial and dispensational as well. A recurring problem with this view is that the dependent pieces of the system are simply not found in the Bible; they're just not there. /episode/index/show/garydemar/id/42967843

The One Way to Interpret "This Generation" 09/18/2026

The One Way to Interpret "This Generation" Bible Prophecy Under the Microscope-Episode 109 Gary responds to a critic who challenges his interpretation of "this generation" in Matthew's gospel. The critic claims Gary is assuming what he has to prove, but Gary shows the opposite. Words like "generation" can be somewhat arbitrary, but when this phrase is read in other parts of the NT, especially Acts 2, it becomes clear that it is not about many generations, but about a very particular one: those hearing Jesus' words in the first century. /episode/index/show/garydemar/id/42932892

Audience Relevance and Time Indicators 09/16/2026

Audience Relevance and Time Indicators Gary begins to discuss the book of Revelation and points out important details that most modern Christians dismiss. Although the Bible is written FOR us, it wasn't written TO us. The vast majority of the New Testament is recording historical events and their significance. These past events still have great importance and meaning, especially for vindicating Jesus' authoritative claims about His identity. /episode/index/show/garydemar/id/42926252

An Introduction to Biblical Hermeneutics 09/14/2026

An Introduction to Biblical Hermeneutics Hermeneutics is the art and practice of interpretation. We use hermeneutics every day whether we realize it or not. We interpret not only the words people say, but how they say them and in what context. Understanding the Bible requires the same carefulness and deliberateness that we apply to the words and actions we encounter and interpret in our everyday lives. /episode/index/show/garydemar/id/42892935

In Synch: Matthew 24, 1 Thess. 4, and 2 Thess. 2 09/11/2026

In Synch: Matthew 24, 1 Thess. 4, and 2 Thess. 2 Bible Prophecy Under the Microscope-Episode 108 Gary concludes his response to Ayo, who had questions about preterism and decided to return to dispensationalism. Gary shows how various passages in the New Testament, both in the Gospels and the Epistles, refer to the same first-century events. Jesus, Paul, Peter, James, and John were all speaking about what was happening, or about to happen, to them and their countrymen, not people thousands of years in their future. /episode/index/show/garydemar/id/42863670

The Sufficiency of Christ's Sacrifice 09/09/2026

The Sufficiency of Christ's Sacrifice Gary concludes his interview with Pastor Greg Chacon by dealing with questions about Israel. Dispensationalism has given most Christians an unhealthy allegiance to Israel and the belief that they must support whatever it decides politically. Eschatology has consequences, and good intentions can be used to promote evil agendas. Modern prophecy advocates are trying to rebuild the first century with a rebuilt "Roman empire" and a third temple in Jerusalem. /episode/index/show/garydemar/id/42838105

The Context of the New Testament 09/07/2026

The Context of the New Testament Gary continues his interview with Pastor Greg Chacon about biblical interpretation and application. The Bible must be read in the context of what was happening historically at the time of the writings. This isn't to say that the Bible isn't about current events, because it is. The Bible is for every generation because it is God's eternal truth, but it is not giving us "secret knowledge" about prophecy. /episode/index/show/garydemar/id/42808950

Leaving Preterism for Dispensationalism (Part Two) 09/04/2026

Leaving Preterism for Dispensationalism (Part Two) Bible Prophecy Under the Microscope-Episode 107 Gary concludes his initial response to Ayo, who claims to have left preterism for dispensationalism. Gary discusses the biblical use of the term "antichrist" and defines what it actually means in the New Testament. Like Ayo, most people today assume it refers to a single person—the Antichrist—but in reality, antichrists were legion in the first century. /episode/index/show/garydemar/id/42745275

Reading the Bible Through the Bible 09/02/2026

Reading the Bible Through the Bible Gary continues his discussion with Pastor Greg Chacon about biblical interpretation. After showing how dispensationalism is flawed, Gary further explains how Bible translations sometimes hide important information by omitting certain words or translating the same word differently in different places. /episode/index/show/garydemar/id/42653940

Reading the Bible Through Scofield 08/31/2026

Reading the Bible Through Scofield Gary is interviewed by Pastor Greg Chacon about eschatology and how dispensationalism has influenced prophetic interpretations. In this first part of a multi-part discussion, they discuss the dominant view of evangelicalism and how it shapes many Christians' outlook on the future. /episode/index/show/garydemar/id/42618790

Leaving Preterism for Dispensationalism (Part One) 08/28/2026

Leaving Preterism for Dispensationalism (Part One) Bible Prophecy Under the Microscope-Episode 106 Gary responds to someone who says he left partial preterism for dispensationalism. Gary rehearses his own path to preterism and how the Bible is what led him there. Reading the NT in the context of the OT, in addition to the historical context of first century Israel in subjection to Rome (not to mention the tradition of the Judaizers), has to be taken into account when reading the letters of the NT and the four Gospels. /episode/index/show/garydemar/id/42581635

Fighting the War on Truth (Part Two) 08/26/2026

Fighting the War on Truth (Part Two) Gary continues his comments on a recent interview with author and apologist Frank Turek. He talks about worldview, culture, history, and "Grape Juice Christianity." If Christians aren't getting answers to the issues of the day in church or from the pulpit, they will get those answers elsewhere. /episode/index/show/garydemar/id/42559845

Fighting the War on Truth (Part One) 08/24/2026

Fighting the War on Truth (Part One) Gary discusses a recent interview in World magazine with author and apologist Frank Turek. Many of the answers Turek gives during the interview sound "presuppositional" which makes Gary reflect on the Great Debate between Drs. Gordon Stein and Greg Bahnsen in 1985. Get The Great Debate book here: /episode/index/show/garydemar/id/42528615

Burning Up the World is Not an Option 08/21/2026

Burning Up the World is Not an Option Bible Prophecy Under the Microscope-Episode 105 Gary dismantles a popular end-time belief, exemplified to an extreme in a Facebook video, about the Earth being burned to a cinder in the end in order to be remade. This belief is often proved by using 2 Peter 3, as well as the last chapters of Revelation. Gary brings sanity to the earth-burning insanity. /episode/index/show/garydemar/id/42509805

Eschatology and Worldviews 08/19/2026

Eschatology and Worldviews Gary discusses the conference that is being planned for next year in Franklin, Tennessee. He explains that it will not be a prophecy conference, though it will address the topic. Ultimately, it will be a worldview conference because eschatology is a key component of any worldview, not only Christianity. /episode/index/show/garydemar/id/42482730

Working Inside the System 08/17/2026

Working Inside the System Gary discusses some arguments people are raising online against trying to reform our current system of government. The civil and the religious realm—Moses and Aaron—are both in need of constant reformation and this is the responsibility of those with a proper worldview. Should Christians do nothing? Or should they do their own thing? How will either of these responses avoid becoming just as corrupt as the current system eventually? /episode/index/show/garydemar/id/42456105

Why is 'Seven Years' Not Mentioned in the NT? 08/14/2026

Why is 'Seven Years' Not Mentioned in the NT? Bible Prophecy Under the Microscope-Episode 104 Gary does a deep dive on the absence of a seven-year period discussed in the New Testament, which is crucial for many end-time theories. He asks why, if this timeframe is so pivotal, it is not explicitly mentioned in the NT. Although "three and a half years" are mentioned in Revelation, the concept of a definitive seven-year tribulation is not. /episode/index/show/garydemar/id/42434755

Justice Gorsuch and the American "Creed" 08/12/2026

Justice Gorsuch and the American "Creed" Gary responds to a comment made by Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch about the "American Creed." Justice Gorsuch claims that America was founded not on particular religious beliefs, but rather on creedal beliefs of all men being created equal. However, this claim does not square with history, law, or logic. /episode/index/show/garydemar/id/42394140
