Grown Girl Divorce
I’m a divorce attorney & mediator. I have spent my career working with individuals and families of all races, ethnicities, religions, education levels, political affiliations, and socioeconomic statuses as they navigate divorce. Yet, no matter the education level or economic resources, it has been my black women clients who find that divorce is more than just a legal process but rather that the decisions made during the process are influenced by our culture, community, and society. Society’s “divorce narrative” is not written with us in mind! The divorce process often finds black women stereotyped, stigmatized or silenced. Yes, black women get divorced too and we deserve better! My girlfriends going through a divorce had access to me to explain things, empathize, and to even “call a sista out!” What I realized very quickly is that it takes a village to get through a divorce, but not everyone has a sister or Soror who is a black woman divorce attorney! That’s why I started Grown Girl Divorce; to educate and empower black women going through a divorce and because sometimes you just need a reminder that… ----------------------------------------------------------- WHERE YOU CAN FIND ME: Website: Instagram: Twitter: Facebook: Email: If you enjoyed this episode don’t forget to subscribe, rate and leave a review! #GirlsOnAnotherLevel

Hi! My name is Amber Reynolds and I am the owner of a mobile sip and paint business called The Paint Factory, LLC! I officially launched my business on my 28th birthday June 25, 2020. I lost my job in March 2020, due to the pandemic. I was born and raised in Georgia and I've worked since I was 15 years old. I always loved having my own money and not having to ask anyone for help, especially my parents. While being out of work, I knew I always wanted to be my own boss and start my own business, but I didn’t know what to do. So I made a list of things I enjoy doing and painting was really calming for me. I have gone to almost 20 sip and paints and I told myself this is something I can do too and that’s how The Paint Factory was born! Am I Being Heard?
Becoming a birth and postpartum doula came out of a need to help women feeling alone, unheard, unprotected, and traumatized from their previous birthing experiences or those concerned about first time labor & delivery. Birthwork wasn’t something I originally planned for, but something that provided a way to help black women after my own negative medical experiences. It allows for changing not just one life, but an entire family. Birthwork is where I feel the most empowered and useful to my community as I help women have more positive, fulfilling, and healthier birthing experiences. Focusing on the black community is important, these women continuously are mistreated and go unheard due to medical racism. While, one person—especially another black woman—can not undo systems created centuries ago, one person can advocate for changing as many lives as possible. I received my training and certification through Birthing Beautiful Communities in Cleveland, OH. I am also CPR/First Aid certified. When I am not assisting clients, I am on social media educating my following in any way I can! I don't have my website up yet and my personal social media pages are where I post all of my doula content. ---------------------------------------------- WHERE YOU CAN FIND ME: Website: Instagram: Twitter: Facebook: Email: If you enjoyed this episode don’t forget to subscribe, rate and leave a review! #GirlsOnAnotherLevel

Walk Our Destiny

Walk Our Destiny
Angelic DeWitt Simmons: preacher, teacher, servant-leader, counselor, author and mother. Underneath the veil of her humble beauty and gentle smile, is a caterpillar-like story of transformation and transition. She has withstood tumultuous times and dedicated her life to cultivating others as they evolve through their trials and advance through their troubles. In each step of her walk with The Lord, she is encouraging others to reach their God-given potential in their personal, professional, and spiritual lives. Raised in one of the roughest parts of the Washington, DC metropolitan area, Angelic was nurtured in a single-parent Christian home with biblical values and principles. At the tender age of 12, Angelic gave her heart to The Lord. She nurtured her passion for God and cultivated her yielded lifestyle which has led to an anointing to preach and teach the word of God with authority, revelation, and deliverance. At the age of 28, she married renowned evangelist, Pastor Nathan L. Simmons. After being married for close to 8 years and serving her husband as ministerial aid and supporter, wife and mother, Angelic Simmons learned the bittersweet side of ministry- when her husband died. The loss of her husband impacted not only her, but her daughters- Victoria and Alexis- as well as the members of their church. Uncertain about the future, she was propelled from servant to Leader. After hearing the “clarion call” of God and accepting the mantle of her late husband, Superintendent Nathan L. Simmons, Sr. Pastor Simmons transitioned from mourning to ministry, serving as pastor of Citadel of Hope Evangelistic C.O.G.I.C. for over 2 years. In May 2009, determined to reach her God-given aptitude, Sr. Pastor Simmons launched, The New Citadel of Hope Christian Church, now known as Total Victory Worship Center a cutting edge multi-cultural, multi-faceted, family oriented ministry that is reaching with LOVE, teaching to LIVE a Victorious life and building to LAST. Her journey of elevation during troubled times is a testament of Isaiah 61:3~ “To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.” Armed with her degrees in Teaching, Religion and Biblical Studies, Sr. Pastor Simmons is known for her challenging preaching and thought-provoking teaching. Her messages motivate, encourage, and produce effective change. She believes “Life is full of battles and struggles. God has positioned each of us to win. Along the way you may get injured. Don’t focus on the wound- rather look for the scar. The scar says ‘I am healed.’” Transformed from widow to weapon of power, her anointing deeply penetrates the mind, heart, and soul. Her teaching, preaching, and sharing of the good news of Jesus Christ has liberated many. She is the author of one of the most motivating and captivating books to be birthed into the Earth realm, From Ashes to Destiny.
