PRAYERS FOR YOUR TRAUMA HEALING JOURNEY -PART 1 One prayer I often pray is: “Father - make the crooked places straight in my heart” I get this prayer from the metaphor often found in Scripture of “preparing the way of the Lord” In the Old Covenant before Jesus came, Prophets would proclaim His coming and they would declare that One was coming who would make things right with humanity. Who would “level the playing field” against sin, corruption and evil. One who would heal and restore and repair. One who would light the way both in the world and in our hearts. I love this metaphor because it is so profoundly true in the context of trauma. Sin & Trauma creates so much confusion, dysregulation and disruption in our hearts and minds. As a result, we can see things from distorted lenses. The Gospel of Christ is the true light for trauma because when Jesus comes into our lives - He doesn’t just ask for surface-level relationship with us. What I'm Going Through and the Ones That Brought Me Here
So I woke up this morning brimming with gratitude for the integration and activation that's happening within me. And I am just thinking about all the amazing people that have been divinely put on my path that planted seeds in my spirit. And I had an overwhelming desire to share it all. Well this is easily the most vulnerable - and longest live stream I have ever done. This is the replay of the original stream on instagram. It's about what I’m going through and the people that brought me here… Wow I was not expecting this to go on as long as it did - but it did! And I was not expecting to be brought to tears - okay maybe I was lol! But not that much… I share what I’m moving through and integrating and what is coming through me. I also share some of the key people along the way that have made such a difference in my life. Not all the key people of course but the ones that came to mind. I talked about the deep feelings of self-disgust and self-loathing that kept me from seeing myself as I truly was for years - and how meaningful it is to me that I have had people divinely brought into my path to speak truth into my being. We all know that learning to be with discomfort is an essential part of healing and growing. In fact, being with discomfort is an essential part of LIFE! After all - didn’t the Buddhists say life is suffering? But for you high performers and high achieving entrepreneurs who are used to powering through discomfort - have you noticed that that method and approach doesn’t seem to work as well for the healing journey? Why is that? It’s because we don’t see results in our trauma healing when we approach the healing journey from our survival patterns! Of course - discomfort is part of healing. But healing requires us to re-evaluate our relationship with discomfort! To heal, we have to support our nervous systems to relate differently to discomfort. Not powering through and burning out. Interview With A Client - Louise Lewis
This week on the podcast I have another interview with an incredible client. Louise Lewis is a Trauma Informed Life Coach. She is an intelligent and wonderful person with a heart of gold! Prior to becoming a coach,she worked as a Tax Litigation Solicitor (Lawyer) in the Big 4 for over a decade. In October 2018, Louise changed the direction of her life and has done the work to find out what was at the root of some of the stressful patterns that were creating cycles of burnout.Louise has completed a diploma in transformation coaching practice, trained in positive intelligence, human design and she is also a student in the School of Embodied Healing Systems. She has coached dozens of clients for over 1000 hours and has been accredited by the International Coach Federation. In this conversation we talk about her journey of healing before meeting me, and how our work together has helped her at the level of the body. We also talk about my certification program, Embodied Healing Systems which Louise is also part of. She shares her experience in the program and how it is helping her in her own coaching practice.
