🎧183: How to Have an Influential Voice and Leave a Legacy with Tricia Brouk
Storytelling is one powerful tool. To highlight just how powerful it can be, I was thrilled to have the incredible Tricia Brouk back for another episode of the I Heart My Life show. (She was last with us in Episode 18 which you can find .) This time, she’s here to discuss how we all have the power to influence others with our story and, by doing so, leave a legacy behind. Tricia is an award-winning writer, producer, director, and esteemed speaking coach who I greatly admire for so many reasons. After listening to our conversation, I’m certain you’ll understand why. Follow along as Tricia explains her journey from dancing on stage in New York to helping speakers on stage at events like TEDx, and how the latter opened the door for her to step into her passion of helping others find their voice and share their story with others. While she never imagined she’d end up in the coaching space (she admits she didn’t really know online businesses were much of a thing at first), Tricia details how she took a bold (and determined) leap of faith to step into her true calling and create a “new space” where she has been able to support an international audience of incredible speakers. Tricia talks about everything from her new book that she literally wrote in one week (it comes out on April 27th) to what it truly means (and takes) to be an influential speaker who leaves a legacy in this world. Not only does Tricia share her experience writing her book in which she uses stories from her life to influence and inspire others, but she breaks down how you could approach writing your own book too (because you totally can). We also touch on the vulnerability involved in putting your story out there for the world to hear (or read), explaining why it is an imperative piece to the puzzle of influencing others. At the end of the day, our stories are what connect us. Whether they are coming from a place of vulnerability, trauma, or success, they are an influential tool we can use to teach others. So, this is the episode for anyone with a desire to share your message with the world. No matter through which medium you wish to share your story and spread your influence (a podcast, a book, a course, a stage, whatever) you’ll want to make sure to listen to this one because our conversation highlights how you (yes you) can increase your influence as you grow in your business. The bottom line is we all have a voice, and whether you’re talking on a stage or on the subway, it’s important to think about how we use it. This episode serves as a reminder that everyone, literally every single person, has a story to share. Tune in to our conversation to learn how you can start sharing your story today. Are you ready? Let’s dive in. In this episode… [03:29] Welcome, back Tricia! She shares her journey on stage from dancer to speaker (and now coach). [07:28] How her boldness and tenacity paved the way for her legacy. [09:23] How Trica went from unconscious competence to conscious confidence. [11:29] Everyone has a powerful message to share (and how to know when you’re ready to). [16:07] Your story is meant to be heard by someone. [18:34] Tricia shares her experience writing her book (and how you can do it too). [26:43] Moving through the roadblocks of vulnerability. [28:59] Hear about Tricia’s new book (and why you need to read it). [31:46] The power of voice (even in everyday situations). [34:12] How to get your hands on Tricia’s book (and why you should preorder now). [35:15] How to approach sharing your story. Quotes: “When I stepped fully into who I was meant to be in the world and moved from being an unconscious competent to a conscious confident, I knew I was showing up in a way that is of service. And that my gifts are meant to have a much bigger reach.” -Tricia Brouk “There are 7.8 billion people on this planet and as human beings, now more than ever, we understand how directly connected we are and that we are ultimately one. And when you share your powerful message and your personal story, you will reach the one person on this planet that you are meant to reach. And guess what? You can change and even save their life.” -Tricia Brouk “It's so important now, more than ever, for people to understand that we need more leaders and we need more people stepping out and moving past the fear and speaking up and just being those guides for others who are maybe still too afraid to speak.” -Emily Williams “We're all capable of more than we believe we're capable of.” -Tricia Brouk Links & Resources: Check out Tricia’s new book Visit Tricia’s Subscribe to the Podcast: I Heart My Life Show I Heart My Life Show Connect with Emily: I Heart My Life I Heart My Life I Heart My Life Email: Episode Sponsor:

🎧182: The Dynamic Laws of Prosperity - Part 4
If multiplying your current income by 10x sounds desirable to you, you’re in the right place. I’m back with part four of my on-going series in which I share the knowledge and insights from the pages of Catherine Ponder’s incredibly inspiring (and life-changing) book, The Dynamic Laws of Prosperity. The chapters I explore in this episode are especially juicy and offer life-changing advice for how you can create massive shifts in terms of money and wealth in your life and business. Join me as I dive into the knowledge Ponder offers in chapters 10 through 12 and reveal why financial independence can be yours and just how to make it happen. I really want you to understand that this is possible for you. That’s why I share actionable steps you can take to literally 10x the amount of money you’re regularly bringing in (and it’s easier than you may think). In fact, I share 10 things you can do every day to welcome financial abundance into your life. I might as well have called this episode “the power of 10…” With this episode, I want you to understand the power of positive and prosperous thought. I reveal what Ponder believes to be the key to financial independence (hint: It’s something we feel very strongly over at IHML). For those of you who’ve ever felt guilty for putting your desires first, I explain why it’s essential to focus your energy and emotion on those big desires (and why you need to make prosperous thinking a priority every day). Not only does this episode go into Ponder’s technique for bringing more wealth into your thoughts (and bank account), but I remind you of the effects of the Law of Attraction. Remember, what you think, say, and do impacts your path to prosperity. That’s why I outline 10 steps you can take each day to be on your way to achieving the financial independence you desire. From removing uncertainty and doubts from your mind to building detailed mental pictures of where you want to be, these steps showcase how you can take control and start laying the foundation for your financial dreams to become a reality. The chapters I review in this episode are just more proof of how incredibly powerful and life-changing your mind can be. I even explain how you can change an experience after it has already happened (but you’ll have to listen to hear how). And it’s not just about you, either. Listen to hear the role love, goodwill, relationships, and prayer play in achieving your dreams. Now, whether you are religious or not, Ponder’s views on the power of prayer in prosperity are worth the listen. In fact, prayer can mean a variety of things. So, I give you four types of prayer you can practice to help you get in touch with (and achieve) your rich desires and prosperity. As much as I love this series, there is so much knowledge and potential to be experienced in this book that I can’t possibly cover it all. So, if you don’t have this book yet, you definitely want to get it. And don’t forget to go back and listen to the first three episodes of this series (if you haven’t already) and be sure to tune in for the next one! P.S. Keep your ears open for the promo to save 15% on my signature I Heart Money course, the course designed to help you shift your money mindset so you can be on your way to creating as much wealth as you desire. In this episode… [03:06] Chapter 10: Financial independence can be yours (and how to get it). [05:41] The role (and strength) of emotions when they’re concentrated on your big desires. [08:22] Why you need to conserve your time and energy (and make prosperous thinking a priority). [13:42] Techniques to help you step into financial independence (and increase your wealth 10x). [18:27] Learn the 10 steps that help you achieve financial independence. [24:44] Chapter 11: The Prosperity Law of Love and Goodwill. [28:58] Chapter 12: The Prosperity Law of Prayer (and the power of meditation). [31:06] How to practice setting yourself up for prosperity today. Quotes: “The desire to be self-supporting and financially independent is a divine desire that has been implanted in the intellectual and emotional nature of man to help him progress, achieve and build a worthwhile life for himself.” -Catherine Ponder “Your great good is as much yours before it becomes visible as it is afterward, but it's up to you to bring it into visibility” -Catherine Ponder “Remind yourself often that if others have attained financial independence, so can you. What one has done, many can do. What can be done to a small degree can, with persistence, frequency, and earnestness, be done to an unlimited degree. It is up to you.” -Catherine Ponder “We need to be paying attention to the mind and what we're feeding it. One of the ways to do that is by getting really quiet and actually paying attention and focusing on what it is that you want through meditation and silence. We're always so busy, and we don't actually pay attention to the thoughts running through our mind.” -Emily Williams Links & Resources: Subscribe to the Podcast: I Heart My Life Show I Heart My Life Show Connect with Emily: I Heart My Life I Heart My Life I Heart My Life Email: Episode Sponsor:

🎧181: How to Decide on a Niche in Your New Coaching Business: Real Coaching Session with Amy Bett
The world of online coaching is booming right now, but I’m finding a lot of new coaches making one of two mistakes. Either they’re not niching their offer and therefore not targeting a specific audience or they’re niching too much to the point where they are actually limiting future growth. Even worse? Some aspiring coaches get so hung up on the buzzword itself that they never move into the actual business creation. Let’s avoid that, shall we? There’s no doubt that figuring out your niche is a great way to get clear on your offers, target your ideal audience, and make it more obvious how you can serve them. The downside? It's a buzzword that can send people in a panic or leave them scratching their heads wondering how specific is too specific or, on the other hand, at which point does broad dilute a sense of expertise? If you can relate to this challenge, keep reading (or better yet, go ahead and hit play on this episode). I recently recorded a live coaching session with one of our I Heart Coaching members, Amy Bett. Amy is a new coach who is already hitting $5k months in just 5 months with our program. As a woman with big ambitions and the desire to help other female business owners in their businesses, she is now looking at how to get to the next level. During our session, she brought up some great points that are relatable to new coaches in any realm of the industry. Specifically, Amy was looking for advice regarding if she should get more specific with her niche and if so, how to do so while also bringing in more revenue. Follow along as I coach Amy through honing in on her niche by clearly identifying what she is selling and who she is selling it to. We dive into the pain points and desires of her current (and ideal) clients as well as her goals for them. From there, we chat about how to create the right program that addresses their needs and her desires. The truth is, the more specific you can get with your offers and your clients, the more you can establish your expertise. This is imperative to hitting those revenue goals you've been dreaming of. For Amy, I walk her through how she can be on her way to surpassing her current $5k months (and reach $50k months in no time). We also discuss other common pain points for new coaches, from determining your price point with confidence to increasing your revenue with ease. And you know how much I love money mindset, so you can be sure that we touch upon a few tips for keeping your money mindset on the right track as your business grows too. So, if you’re just starting out in the coaching world and looking for guidance in terms of identifying your niche, determining your price point, and increasing your revenue, you don’t want to miss this one. In this episode… [03:07] Welcome, Amy! Hear how I Heart Coaching has helped Amy create her coaching business. [06:41] Why you need to establish goals for your clients. [08:36] Determining your ideal client and ideal program can help determine your niche. [11:30] Your niche can naturally evolve (and that’s okay). [13:10] Upleveling your offers to continue to meet your client’s needs. [16:14] The importance of having a unique methodology. [19:01] Steps to ensure you are nurturing your money mindset. [21:30] How to approach raising your rates and 10x your revenue in one month. [27:23] Laying the groundwork for achieving $50k months. Quotes: “So one of the things that I see sets coaches like you apart is having some sort of unique methodology, even if it's like, you know, a three-part a three-step process or something. So I would think, and you don't have to develop it today, but think about the current clients and kind of what is the process you're taking them through.” -Emily Williams “We want to get clear on who you're speaking to and what it is that you're selling.” -Emily Williams “I feel as though the underlying fear could have been me actually charging people for the services to help them. So maybe it wasn't getting the clients is the hard part. It's getting the paying clients, which is the hard part. But I haven't found that to be the case, especially now because I'm so clear and focused.” -Amy Bett “Let's start focusing on the belief of ‘clients come to me effortlessly,’ ‘I'm charging whatever amount it is that you want to say, and clients will pay that,‘ ‘I get paid premium for my coaching packages.’ Whatever the mantras are that will help them mind you that those $50k months are available for you.” -Emily Williams Links & Resources: Subscribe to the Podcast: I Heart My Life Show I Heart My Life Show Connect with Emily: I Heart My Life I Heart My Life I Heart My Life Email: Episode Sponsor:

🎧180: The Dynamic Laws of Prosperity Pt. 3
Get ready to dive into the next three chapters of Catherine Ponder’s incredibly powerful book, The Dynamic Laws of Prosperity. This is part three of my on-going series in which I share the knowledge and insights from the pages of Ponder’s book that can literally change your life and have you stepping into your greatest, most prosperous desires. This episode serves as a reminder that whatever you send out is what you are going to get back in this world. We’re all guilty of a little jealousy here and there right? Follow along as I dive into what that jealousy really means (and how it can actually reveal what is possible for you). In fact, the chapters I analyze in this episode are all about how your thoughts and attitudes surrounding wealth and prosperity of you and others can make or break your ability to attain it. That’s why I repeat so many powerful quotes and mantras that Ponder wrote that can help get money flowing into your life. I love reiterating Ponder’s theory of how prosperity is not a race. Listen as I explain why haste toward your prosperous goals actually promotes fear and can actually plant the seeds for failure. Ponder believes that failure is simply an “installment toward victory” and I couldn’t agree more. So, instead of rushing to your goals, it’s important to find peace and gratitude in your current situation so you can then move forward (and toward prosperity). I believe there is so much power in taking action. So, I reveal why you need to start adopting a prosperous attitude in your life pronto. The truth is, anything else leads to self-sabotaging your goals and big dreams by getting in the way of taking action toward them. People love to say your vibe attracts your tribe. Well, it turns out it attracts (or repels) money and prosperity too. Now, one of the many things I am so aligned with Ponder on is how everything you do and say daily creates energetic patterns that can propel you toward (or block you from) that prosperity you desire. Money and wealth are there for the taking if and only if you are willing to do what it takes in terms of mindset, words, and actions to attract it. Truth be told, “being poor” isn’t a reality, but a frame of mind (that you can get out of with the steps I outline in this very episode). For anyone out there who is feeling in a bit of a rut when it comes to their work and money mindset, I walk you through a three-point check to help you understand how you might actually be blocking prosperity from coming into your life. Additionally, listen for the tips and techniques that Ponder believes can have you trusting and stepping into what great prosperity is possible for you. There’s so much power packed into these three chapters, I could have talked about them for hours. Trust me when I say you are definitely going to want to grab a pen and paper for this one. Honestly, my mind is still buzzing from all the thought-provoking takeaways. Remember, this episode is part of something much bigger. Be sure to tune into the next Dynamic Laws of Prosperity episode (and go back and listen to the first two if you haven’t already) to get the full value of this series. P.S. Want more support transforming your money mindset? Check out my signature I Heart Money course, the course designed to help you create as much wealth as you desire. Head over to our courses page on our website to access this incredible course and all of its exclusive content and resources. Use the code “PODCAST” to save. In this episode… [03:21] Chapter 7: The Prosperity Law of Increase (and having faith in others’ prosperity). [07:00] The power of taking action. [09:19] The power of giving others the thought of increase (and how it can help you). [12:32] Overcoming discouragement and disappointment. [14:41] Prosperity is not a race (Hear how rushing can lead to fear and failure). [16:51] Chapter 8: Prosperous attitude (and why you need to adopt this in your life). [21:42] Making money your servant (and what your jealousy really means) [25:29] The power of your words. [27:52] Money is there for the taking (of you choose). [30:17] Chapter 9: Exploring how work is a mighty channel for prosperity. [34:11] Moving through creative ruts or dissatisfaction with your work. [36:22] How to step into your divine calling and bring forth your desires. [39:19] The saturation technique and the 5-step success formula (and how these show yourself what is possible). Quotes: “When you're looking to improve people's lives, they're going to unconsciously want to be around you if you are all about increase; increasing their health, increasing their wealth, increasing their happiness. And if you live a life in that way as well, they might not know what's drawing them to you, but it has to do with the law of increase.” -Emily Williams “Hitch your mental image of prosperity to the rich star of success and keep it there.” -Catherine Ponder “Thinking in the same way that everyone else thinks is easy and it's also useless. It also could be called lazy because we are trained to think in a certain way, but if you're looking to transform your life in your bank account, that's where you have to make an effort to really think in a different way. -Emily Williams “Failure is nothing but success trying to be born in a bigger way. 🎧179: How to Transform Your Life and Mindset (in One Minute) with Jay LaGuardia
Are you ready for that personal transformation that will help you step into your dreams? That will help you as you navigate the early stages of building or growing a business doing what you love? The wait is over, Lovely. I am so excited to share with you the insight and wisdom of the amazing Dr. Jay LaGuardia, health and wellness extraordinaire! Honestly, this might just be one of my favorite episodes yet. You don’t want to miss it. Jay doesn’t hold anything back in this interview. He reveals how his traumas from his childhood reveal themselves in unpleasant ways in his adult life, nearly ruining his relationship with his wife and children and his business. He not only shares the moment he knew he needed to make a change but reveals the rather simple steps that he put in place to make that change. The best part? It doesn’t have to be complicated. Jay has an incredible way of showing how making these shifts in your life can be rather easy for you to manage (after 30 years of doing it himself, he would know). He breaks down his advice in easy to manage pieces so you too can begin transforming your mindset, freeing yourself from the shackles of whatever thoughts and emotions are holding you back, and instead stepping into the vision of what you want and who you want to be. The steps he shares to help you unlock a total mindset (and life) transformation are ones that anyone (including you) can begin implementing in their own life right away. Listen as he shares his first experiences with meditation (and how it clarified the steps he needed to take to live a better life) and discusses how regaining control over his emotions bettered his personal and professional life. Once he shifted his mindset, not only did his life at home improve, but his (already successful) business experienced a whole new level of growth. By telling his own story, Jay reveals five elements to strong leadership (and the mindset shifts it takes to implement them) that will help any business owner grow their team, foster trust, and improve company culture. But this episode is about more than being a leader in your business. It’s about being a leader in your own life. Perhaps my favorite part of this whole interview is when Jay shares the four steps behind one-minute mindset shifts. This is a quick, yet highly effective exercise that can help you align your mindset with your vision in one minute. You read that right. Four steps. One minute. Total change. You can literally start doing this exercise as soon as you finish this episode and be on your way to taking back your power in your life so you can start living the life you’ve always wanted. Oh, and he doesn’t stop there. He also shares his five keys to living a happy and successful life. This is the episode for anyone who is tired of being held back by their past, their emotions, or their mindset. So, if you are ready to step into the version of you that will allow your biggest dreams to become your reality, get ready to dive in, Lovely. In this episode… [02:08] Welcome, Dr. Jay! Follow along as he explains how his wellness journey began. [07:06] Jay explains how his emotions were negatively impacting his life. [09:00] How meditation and visualization opened the door for change in Jay’s life. [17:10] Jay’s 5 top tips for leadership that can change your business. (He talks responsibility, vulnerability, and trust). [19:37] Building your team? Follow these tips to ensure alignment. [22:47] Jay describes what it takes to commit to a personal transformation. [25:21] The three things Jay does every day to continue to commit to the transformation. [28:22] Jay talks about goal-setting (and the mistake a lot of people make when setting theirs). [30:50] There are three types of people in the world… [32:28] Learn how to do one-minute mindset shifts! [37:18] Hear about Jay’s inspirational business! [43:06] Hear Jay’s advice for living a life that’s better than your dreams (5 keys to happiness and success). Quotes: “The world around us reflects us. If we don't like the world around us, we have to change [ourselves] before the world around us can change. And the honest thing is we're not really changing the external world. What we're doing is changing our perception of the external world and therefore the world shows up differently.” -Jay LaGuardia “Success is not about just meditating at the top of a mountain. You actually have to take the action.” -Emily Williams “When we shift our mindset from adversity to opportunity to solve problems, it completely changes the way we do business [and] the way we look at things.” -Jay LaGuardia “Take care of your physical, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing, because you are an example to everyone around you. 🎧178: The Dynamic Laws of Prosperity - Part 2
Welcome to part two of this new series in which I dive into the life-changing knowledge inside of Catherine Ponder’s book, The Dynamic Laws of Prosperity. This episode is all about making space in your mind and life for the prosperity you’re desiring. Join me as I dive into the next three chapters of the book (and three new Laws of Prosperity). You know I’m all about the tangible takeaways, Lovely. So, get ready for me to share a super-simple process you can follow every day to help ignite the mindset transformation needed to step into prosperity in your own life and business. Even better? It only takes 15 minutes of your time dedicated to your desires each day. Totally doable (and I even share examples of incredible results this process can bring to life). Additionally, I explain why getting clarity (and specific) around your desires is an essential first step to getting on the road to prosperity and how you can set yourself up for success with your desires (Hint: write them down). I discuss why planning met with consistent and intentional action and thought are imperative to prosperous living (and why giving your desires permission to change is a good thing). The thing is, we have the power to impact our own lives. Life doesn’t have to happen to you. That’s why I review Ponder’s theory behind the power of imagining what it is you desire in your mind (yes, literally picturing it) and how your imagination and will work together to bring whatever that desire is into your life. It’s all about planting the seeds for expectation in your mind first so they can grow and show up in a very real way. So, whatever your desires are, whether we’re talking about money or weight loss, the idea is the same here. It’s all about staying committed to the image you’ve created in your mind of what you truly desire so it can manifest in your reality (I’ve done this in my one life and can say it works). Why? Your mind produces what you think and visualize (I explain more in the episode). Lastly, I reveal the final aspect of the three-part exercise in which you use your words to help bring your desires and prosperity to life. Words are more powerful than we give them credit, (and I have plenty of Poder’s examples to help illustrate just how powerful). The bottom line is that what you think and what you say matter just as much as what you desire. This episode is aimed at helping you understand how you can get in the right mindset and take the right actions to be on your way to prosperity ASAP. Remember, this is only the second episode of this incredible on-going series. Be sure to tune into the next episode (and go back and listen to the first if you haven’t already) to get the full value and learn how you can start going after your dreams and welcoming prosperity today. P.S. Be sure to listen for the promo to save 15% on my signature . This course will have you on your way to impacting the world and stepping into your purpose (while creating room for the wealth you desire). Regardless of where you are in your business journey, this course has something to offer. Head over to our courses page on our website to get your access to this incredible course and all of its exclusive content and resources. In this episode… [03:13] Chapter 4: The Creative Law of Prosperity [03:50] Getting clear on your desires (and why you need to write them down). [07:54] What happens when we suppress our desires (and how to plan for them instead). [11:06] Doing this 15 minutes a day can lead you to prosperity. [13:31] Chapter 5: The Imaging Law of Prosperity. [15:38] Why you need to have patience with your desires (rather than give up). [23:44] Chapter 6: the Prosperity Law of Command (the power of your words). [27:16] The power of affirmations. [31:51] Identifying your defaults (so you can overcome them). Quotes: “Whether it's business building or mindset, we always start with desire because it's so important that you are clear on what it is that you actually want.” -Emily Williams “The mind produces definite results only when it has been given definite ideas through which to work.”-Catherine Ponders “What I learned in the very beginning of building I Heart My Life was that money loves purpose. So, I got super granular about what my desires actually were and what the purpose was for the money that I was saying I wanted.” -Emily Williams “If we believe that we have power to impact our own lives, then that means we have power to impact it positively.” -Emily Williams Links & Resources: Podcast Episode 176: The Dynamic Laws of Prosperity: Part 1 Subscribe to the Podcast: I Heart My Life Show I Heart My Life Show Connect with Emily: I Heart My Life I Heart My Life I Heart My Life Email: Episode Sponsor:

🎧177: How to Know If You’re Ready to Run Facebook Ads with Jennifer Spivak
You know that feeling when you meet someone whose values you just totally align with? That’s how I felt when I met Jennifer Spivak. We both believe that when women go after their dreams and achieve financial success, the world can change. That’s what it’s all about, right? Finding that freedom, that passion, that purpose that can change not only your own life but the lives of others. Jennifer has a truly inspiring story behind her business (and she shares it in more detail in this episode!). After escaping an abusive relationship herself (with the help of a fund she kept hidden from her abuser), she spent some time involved in advocacy work surrounding domestic violence. That’s when she realized that financial abuse created a roadblock for so many women trying to escape these relationships. Unlike her, they didn’t have access to a secret fund to help them escape their situation. From that moment on, it became her mission to put more money into the hands of more women. And that’s exactly what she’s doing with her Facebook advertising agency. She has so much to offer in terms of insight into life, business, and chasing your dreams. Follow along as we dive into the story behind her women-centered business and her tips for aspiring (and current) business owners just like you. Not only do we discuss her top tips for running Facebook ads, but we talk about essential aspects of entrepreneurship too, like why building a strong foundation is essential to any ad campaign and why setting boundaries is essential to your mental health. We talk about the importance of understanding what’s within your control (and letting go of what isn’t) when it comes to client success and why taking a holistic approach to business is best for long-term success. For those of you just starting out or feeling burdened by the beginning stages of your journey? Jennifer knows that building a business from the ground up can definitely be overwhelming at times (that’s why she strongly believes in simplifying). So, she also explains how she uses her desires to drive her business and why she runs her business on the idea of working smarter, not harder. The bottom line? Her story is inspirational. She is inspirational. What she has been able to do with her business is just incredible. There’s so much packed into our conversation regarding not just Facebook Ads but running a powerful, purpose-driven (and successful) business in general. Be sure to tune into my interview with her today! In this episode… [01:10] Welcome Jennifer! Hear her share the story behind her women-centered business. [05:20] Why Facebook Ads? (And how she trained herself to be an expert)! [07:17] Hear how she went from “the boys club” to creating a women-led agency. [09:17] Listen as Jennifer describes the biggest lessons she learned when starting her agency. [10:50] Jennifer talks about the importance of setting boundaries. [15:34] What needs to be in place before you jump into the world of Facebook Ads. [19:44] Jennifer discusses the mindset that allows her to work smarter, not harder. [23:28] Hear Jennifer’s advice to anyone just starting out (and how she got her very first clients). [26:22] How her business has grown (and where she plans to take it in 2021). [29:43] Hear Jennifer’s tip for living a life that’s better than your dreams. Quotes: “Something that I really focus on is this contextual shift between results delivery and service delivery. And the fact of the matter is because there are 5 million factors at play in terms of whether or not my clients get results. I can't ever fully own results delivery. It's literally impossible. So in trying to do that, I am setting myself up for failure.” -Jennifer Spivak “I think, for some reason, people have built up Facebook ads like this magical thing that is going to fix their business and bring in all new clients, but it is just a channel. So all of the marketing, one-on-one all of those sort of non-sexy foundational things must be perfectly dialed in, in order for Facebook to actually grow your business.” -Jennifer Spivak “A lot of times people do start their business from the bottom and work on so many different facets themselves. There may be, you know, a one-woman show for a while. And so sometimes figuring out what actually works, validating your product, looking at where your customers are coming from-- it can fall by the wayside because you're doing so many things.” -Emily Williams “I look for the easy way to do things. That's kind of the guiding light, so to speak, of how I run my business, like what would feel really good? What would be the easiest way to have this happen? So for example, you know, is it write 35 emails? Or is it spend $3,500 on ads? I'm going to spend the money on the ads.” -Jennifer Spivak Links & Resources: Connect with Jennifer: Check out Jennifer’s Jennifer Jennifer Subscribe to the Podcast: I Heart My Life Show I Heart My Life Show Connect with Emily: I Heart My Life I Heart My Life I Heart My Life Email:

🎧176: The Dynamic Laws of Prosperity - Part 1
If you want it, you can have it (it’s true). You might just need to do a little mindset work before you can have it, Lovely. The good news is this episode can help you get around the roadblocks standing between you and glorious prosperity. This is the start of a new series in which I dive into all of the brilliant inspiration and insight from Catherine Ponder’s The Dynamic Laws of Prosperity. After hearing about the book from the amazing Dr. Jay LaGuardia (catch my interview with him next week), I immediately went out and bought it (and started implementing her teachings in my own life). It’s seriously filled with so much power and knowledge I had to break it down into four different episodes to share with you. I’m so excited to be diving into this book with you because she touches upon so many things that I know hit close to home. So, follow along as I peel back the layers of Ponder’s beliefs surrounding the guilt people often feel when they realize their desire for wealth and prosperity (and why that shouldn’t be the case). In fact, I explore Ponder’s belief that poverty works against us, limiting our ability to step into our calling of how we can make a difference in the world. (My mind was blown). I discuss why prosperity is needed to thrive in life, including Ponder’s belief that the power to live prosperously stems from within. In other words, it all comes back to one of my all-time favorite topics, mindset. I love how Ponder uses the Law of Attraction and the Vacuum Law to help explain how prosperity works and how it can come into (or be kept out of) our lives. That leads me to discuss how you have to be willing to give (money, time, wherever it is) before you can begin to receive. In this episode I touch upon the important roles guilt, fear, letting go, and forgiveness play in prosperity and building the life (and business) you’ve been dreaming of. Again, I’ve witnessed the power of these shifts in my own life. I want you to understand that this actually works. That’s why I include several examples of how these laws and principles have made a difference in my life and business (and how they can do the same for you). I lead you through the actions you can take to start shifting your money mindset to make room for prosperity with simple steps. I even share one of my favorite mantras from the book so you can apply it to your own life. Remember, this is only the beginning. This was just part one of this powerful series. Be sure to tune into the entire series to get the full value and learn how you can start going after your dreams and welcoming prosperity guilt-free. P.S. Be sure to listen for the promo to save 15% on my signature . With this course, you can be on your way to creating room for the wealth you desire today. Whether you’re a budding entrepreneur, business owner, climbing the corporate ladder, this is for you. Head over to our courses page on our website to get your access to this incredible course and all of its exclusive content and resources. In this episode… [01:38] Sneak peek into this new series. [04:20] The story behind the book. [06:03] Chapter 1: The Shocking Truth About Prosperity (and why it’s not wrong to desire it). [10:44] The link between thought and supply (The power lies within you). [13:34] Chapter 2: The Basic Law of Prosperity (The Law of Attraction). [18:06] Why you need to do the mindset work first. (“I am the center of the universe”). [23:30] Chapter 3: The Vacuum Law of Prosperity (and how to apply it in your life). [26:12] The power of forgiveness. [28:57] The way to deal with feelings of lack. Quotes: “When we are prosperous and when we live in abundance, anything is possible and we're able to live life to the fullest. “ -Emily Williams “It's actually our duty to be wealthy. And what happens when we're wealthy is that we don't have to worry about money. And so it frees our mind up to focus on how we can impact the world, how we can utilize our talents, how we can make a difference.” -Emily Williams “Prosperous thinking opens the way to prosperous results.” -Catherine Ponder “Whatever you are craving, that is what is in store for you. That's when it's available for you. And the sooner that we own it, the sooner we stop judging it, the sooner that dam is going to be released and you're going to see more abundance.” -Emily Williams Links & Resources: Subscribe to the Podcast: I Heart My Life Show I Heart My Life Show Connect with Emily: I Heart My Life I Heart My Life I Heart My Life Email: Episode Sponsor:

🎧175: The Top 3 Legal Basics that Every Small Business Owner Needs with Andrea Sager
We get into the business for the passion, right? To make money doing something we love. I totally understand the desire to jump right in. However, the fact of the matter is that if you have a business, there are some pretty important legal actions you need to take to protect your business (and yourself). The good news? It doesn’t have to be as intimidating as we make it out to be. It’s so easy to get wrapped up in the strategies and marketing for your business, but the legal foundation is seriously so important. I don’t just want you to take my word for it because truthfully, I’m no expert! But luckily I know someone who is… Join me on this episode jam-packed with free (and super useful) legal advice from my friend, Andrea Sager. Andrea is a lawyer who specializes in helping small businesses navigate the world world of law as they build and grow their company. Her story is truly inspirational. Follow along as she shares her entrepreneurial journey (it started by selling clothes on Poshmark), explaining how being fired from what she thought was her “dream job” led her to realize her real dream of serving small businesses. I admire Andrea in more ways than one. She managed to maintain 6-figure months in her business in the midst of a pandemic all while dealing with divorce and the mom guilt that comes with being a successful businesswoman. Andrea truly has a knack for breaking the complicated world of the law down into easily digestible bits for small business owners. So, for those of you who have been avoiding the legal aspects of building your business (or didn’t know they existed in the first place), there’s no need to worry. She’s upfront and honest about what you can do yourself and when you should get expert advice (she even offers one of her super useful freebies)! Listen as Andrea dives into legal advice for small businesses, explaining how, with the right mindset (and help), business law doesn’t have to be so scary after all. Her biggest piece of advice? Being proactive. She explains the importance of establishing your entity (and why you should register as an LLC ASAP), using contracts for protection, and securing your intellectual property. I’m telling you, this information has so much useful information that can set you up for (legal) success so you can start (or grow) your business without a worry. Trust me, you’ll want to take notes! In this episode… [01:50] Why you need to start giving yourself permission (with “Jane”). [03:19] Balancing expert advice and your own intuition. [04:00] The questions you can ask to ensure alignment (and build your business). [06:23] How I navigated a recent pivot in my own business. [08:36] There’s always another path to the result you want. [11:01] Knowing the difference between relief and fear. [14:08] It’s okay to go in a different direction (as long as it feels right). [15:01] It gets to feel good and be successful (the ultimate form of self-love). Quotes: “The number one thing that I like to tell people is the legal stuff doesn't have to be scary. And the sooner you take care of it, the less scary it is.” -Andrea Sager “The legal stuff actually has a lot to do with mindset. And it does provide a lot of blocks in people's businesses, because if you don't take care of it in the back of your mind, you're like, ‘Oh, I really need to do this, but I don't even want to think about legal. I don't want to even touch it.’ So it creates a block.” -Andrea Sager “Don't be afraid to use a contract [because] it can protect you and the other party in more ways than one. And it makes you look more professional. If I'm going to be working with somebody today, they better be sending me a contract. If they don't send me a contract, then I'm going to question their professionalism.” -Andrea Sager “It's not scary and it's not as expensive as people think it is. It only gets expensive when you wait for those issues. And that's really where the scariest stuff happens. The expensive stuff happens. So when you're proactive and you tackle it head-on, it can save you many headaches can save you hundreds of thousands of dollars. It can save you a lot in the long run.” -Andrea Sager Links & Resources: for I Heart Coaching today. 🎧174: How to Give Yourself Permission

🎧174: How to Give Yourself Permission
I’m going to let you in on a little secret. You don’t have to do things the way others have done them. Now, of course, there is a lot to learn from experts in your field. There’s no need to totally reinvent the wheel where you don’t have to, but I’d argue it’s equally as important to know that there’s more than one set way to get the results you desire. The idea of giving yourself permission has been coming up a lot with our IHML clients, and after having a major realization in my own life and business at the start of this year (like literally on New Year’s Day), I knew I had to record this episode. Listen as I dive into the importance of giving yourself permission to pivot in your business (and your life) if it means following your heart. I discuss the difference between fear-based resistance and resistance caused by misalignment. Now, to help you take action, I reveal the questions that you can ask yourself any time you feel like you should be doing something. (Hint: if it’s not in alignment with your desires, you probably shouldn’t). Remember, it’s your dream. It’s your business. So, why can’t you give yourself permission to build it on your own terms? To make changes? To do things differently than what has been done? (Hint: you can). Follow along as I explain how you can create your own version of the path that plays to your strengths and gets you results. The truth is, there is more than one way to get to the results you desire. In fact, it’s the small tweaks, the personal touches, we make along the way that really defines our brands and makes them unique to us. So, give yourself permission to deviate from the set path. In fact, I encourage you to do so. And this doesn’t just apply to your business. Whether you’re on a mission to lose weight, be more productive, eat healthier -- literally, any goals you have for yourself -- I explain why it’s important to be able to understand when to listen to the experts and when to set off on your own version of the path others have paved before you. Don’t do the workout if you hate it. Don’t eat the food if it makes you gag. Find another way. If you’re ready to move full force in the direction of your desires for your life and business, this episode is going to help you do that. Remember, this is the year for you to live a life that’s better than those dreams, Lovely. Quotes: “We want to follow the people who have come before us, but that doesn't mean that you [shouldn’t] sprinkle a little bit of yourself into the recipe as you're making this incredible product or building this brand. In fact, it's actually really important that you do.” -Emily Williams “When you're learning from somebody, give yourself the permission to tweak things a little bit or to edit it if it doesn't feel in alignment. And of course, there's going to be times where you feel resistance because you're doing something new, but that's why you need to start to recognize the difference between resistance and not moving forward-- because maybe you're scared or maybe because you've never done it before-- and resistance when something truly isn't in alignment and it's not the way that you're meant to we'll be doing it.” -Emily Williams “I really believe that there's a way to have success and follow a plan and have step-by-step processes, but also infuse your heart into what you're doing. And ultimately when your heart is in something, you're going to give it your all and it's going to be so much more successful.” -Emily Williams Links & Resources: for I Heart Coaching today. It's going to cost a fortune.’ So on and so forth. What I want you to do is take this and phases and think about what this year holds for your business and what your goals are. 🎧172: 6-Figures in 6 Months Series: Part 4
Drum roll, please… The fourth, and final, episode of the 6-Figures in 6 Months series is finally here! Now, I know people love to talk about the structures and strategies, right? They think those things hold the keys to the kingdom of your dreams. We both know mindset plays an immense role in your success as well because the thing is, you need to build your dream like you would build a house. It starts with a strong foundation. So, this episode takes it way back to the beginning. Back to the foundation of my business. Back to my belief that I was meant for something big. So if you are a dreamer like me, this episode is for you. When I say my life changed in 6 months, it feels like a total understatement. People want to know what the secret is, right? And while I could answer with a million different things, one of the biggest things that I always come back to is being a dreamer. That’s why I’m so excited to wrap this series by diving into the 7 essential aspects of turning your dream into a reality, so if, like me, you want to start a 6-figure business you can. Think about this: What do all people who achieve greatness have in common? They dream big. Sure, some people might see them as a big delusional at the time, but that doesn’t stop them. Think about the Richard Bransons and Steve Jobses, heck even the Oprahs, of the world. They were dreamers who stuck with it because they believed it could happen (and it did). We all have to live our lives like our dreams are possible (because they are). If you play it small you’ll never make it big, Lovely. Listen as I walk you through the importance of everything from having the audacity to dream big to why you need to make your dreams non-negotiable. I explain how continuously thinking outside of the box plays an essential role in your ability to level-up again and again and how the people you surround yourself with can make all the difference. I also discuss how entrepreneurship is more than a career path, it’s a lifestyle (and yes, sometimes that means long grueling hours and hard work when you start out). My success didn’t happen overnight. The thing is, I’m still dedicated and working hard. Staying in the right mindset needed to commit to your dreams is a continuous journey, Lovely. But guess what? Like me, you can be committed to the ride. You can be committed to your dreams, your growth, and your success. The result? You can live a life that’s better than your dreams (trust me). By sharing my experience and this advice with you, I want you to be able to hit the ground running and not chase your dreams, but catch them. Live them. Surpass them. I know I always say this– that it is possible for you– but it’s because I truly believe it, Lovely. So go ahead, after you listen to this episode, open the book and start writing your success story today. Waiting isn’t going to serve anyone. P.S. If you loved this series, imagine what you could get inside one of our programs (like the I Heart Coaching program)! We have so much to offer to help you so you can stop waiting and start stepping into your big desires in a BIG way. with one of our clarity coaches today to see how we can help you start living out your dreams ASAP. In this episode… [03:14] I didn’t think I was going to make it... [04:43] It’s a work in progress (and that’s okay). [07:29] You have to lay the foundations first (then build). [10:32] You’re exactly where you’re supposed to be (here’s why). [14:37] Keeping the dream alive (until it becomes the reality). [17:26] Why your dreams need to be non-negotiable. [18:42] I expect the best (and why you should too). [23:37] Start thinking outside of the box (and continuing to say yes to your dream). [27:52] Who you surround yourself with really matters. [29:53] Entrepreneurship is a way of life. [34:30] 7 conditions needed to make your dreams a reality (recap). [35:28] Hear the details about the I Heart Coaching program (and how it can help you in a BIG way). Quotes: “And so this is what is so essential when it comes to your dreams; There are times in our lives where it's not a hundred percent clear how it's going to happen-- It's not even a hundred percent clear what it is we want to happen-- but we have to keep it alive. And we have to keep the faith. And we have to keep taking steps towards those dreams.” -Emily Williams “When you dream big and you go for it and you really put yourself out there in a huge way-- and you believe that anything is possible and good things are always on their way to you-- the universe, God, whatever it is you believe in is going to deliver much, much more than that. And so as an entrepreneur, you need to be willing to always up-level yourself and just go for it and say, yes.” -Emily Williams “We all need support. We're not meant to do this alone. I don't know where we all got this idea as women, that we need to do everything ourselves, but it's so not true. And so when I surrounded myself with this group of 200 entrepreneurs around the world, it changed my life.” -Emily Williams Links & Resources: for I Heart Coaching today. 🎧171: 6-Figures in 6 Months Series: Part 3
I’m back for part 3 of the 4 part series all about my journey earning 6-figures in 6-months (and how you can too). Now, before diving into today’s episode, be sure to go back and listen to parts 1 and 2 if you haven’t already. These episodes are essential in helping you lay the groundwork needed to jump into the strategies I’ll be outlining in this episode. Are you ready? If you’re the person who’s been patiently waiting for the strategies, the wait is over! This episode is all about the very business decisions and strategies that I put in place when I was starting out. For starters, I reveal how investing in myself and my business changed everything for me. Truthfully, most people underestimate this part. We assume that we must have it all figured out by the time we start the business, right? But that couldn't be further from wrong, Lovely. I wouldn’t have been able to successfully implement these strategies if it wasn’t for the investments I made in my business. I used to think I’d be able to do this whole thing all by myself (hint: I couldn’t). I know money is where a lot of people freeze up, but that’s why I explain how getting help from experts actually saves you money and gives you BIG returns in the long-run (trust me). For example, sure, I could have guessed my way through Facebook Ads (and wasted time and money along the way), but I’m so grateful that I invested in Facebook Ad experts (Don’t worry, I share what I’ve learned in this very episode). Decisions like this changed my ability to target my ideal clients and to scale beyond belief (and can do the same for you). As for those strategies? Get ready to take some notes as I outline the 10 strategies I invested my time and money into to help me go from nothing (well, debt, to be exact) to 6-figures in my business in 6 months. I explain how you can use the same structures to start (or scale) your business. Listen as I explain the importance of everything from targeting your ideal clients to simply showing up unafraid and unapologetically as you put your services out into the world. I dive into the importance of market research and how developing strong, emotional connections with your audience can lead to sales. (Hint: shamelessly sharing your story is a must). Now, if strategies are something you struggle with (or you’re simply looking for that next level of support), I also give you the full run-down of my I Heart Coaching program in this episode (I know you’re curious!). I reveal what you can expect each month during the 6-month program and even offer an exclusive VIP opportunity just for you. This program is about as comprehensive as it gets, laying the foundation to scaling your success (and income) with mindset work, tried and true business strategies, and techniques for successful coaches! Trust me, you don't want to sit this one out. (Click to learn more). P.S. It’s not over yet! Be sure to tune in for this series’ final segment, part 4! As a whole, this series offers you nearly 4 hours of insight and actionable advice to help you step into your big dreams, just like I did. (I share details from my own story, including my struggles, to remind you that this is possible, Lovely). P.P.S. Are you craving the support outlined in this episode to help you step into your dreams but have no idea where to start? with one of our clarity coaches today to see how we can help you start living out your dreams ASAP. In this episode… [02:20] Hear a recap of the first half of the 4-part series! (Be sure to catch part 1 and part 2 if you haven’t already). [05:08] This is your opportunity to grow stronger. [07:09] Hear one of the key aspects of my success (Hint: most people underestimate it). [12:25] The importance of getting clear on your ideal client (including what services to offer) and how to market to them. [14:44] What I’ve learned about Facebook ads. [16:19] The power of story (how telling your story helps make connections with your clients). [19:20] The benefit of confidently pitching your offerings (overcoming fear of being “sales-y”). 🎧170: 6-Figures in 6 Months Series: Part 2
A lot of aspiring business owners focus all of their attention on researching and implementing the right strategies that will propel them into the success they desire. The thing is, it’s not just about strategy. In fact, strategy can only go so far without laying down the foundation for the mindset needed to unlock that next level. The right mindset is essential to creating success on a large, yet sustainable, scale. After all, without making the mindset shifts I dive into in this episode, the business I have today literally wouldn’t be in existence. So, welcome to part 2 of the 6-Figures in 6 Months series. This episode is all about the mindset shifts that I made (and you can too) to help me move through any barriers standing between me and my big dreams of a 6-figure business (and beyond). The fact is that your thoughts create your reality. Mindset plays an imperative role in your success and I explain how it all begins by getting clear on your desires. I also discuss how you can track your thoughts to better understand how they are keeping you from achieving your desires. Once you understand which of your thoughts are holding you back, you can begin to do the work and make the shifts that will help you unlock that next level that you are craving. That reality you want. So, I literally walk you through how you can flip that switch, including the mindset shifts you can start making today to move past feelings of jealousy and overwhelm. I also dive into money mindset, discussing where it comes from and how to track yours to keep it from blocking your success (because it totally can). There are a lot of common money stories we believe to be true that aren’t serving us and our dreams. That’s why I give you tangible ways to start unpacking your current beliefs around money and how to shift them toward welcoming abundance. Remember, your desires are meant for you. They are possible. You can have the business you dream of. You can hit that 6-figure milestone (and beyond). I know it’s easy to get caught up in fears and doubts, and that’s exactly why this work is so important. Truthfully, mindset work is a lifetime commitment if you wish to continue to grow in your life and business. The most important part is starting to do the work. This episode is filled with ways you can start making meaningful shifts in your mindset today. P.S. If you missed the first episode in this 4-part series, go back and listen to episode 169, 6-Figures in 6 months: Part 1. You’ll be able to learn all about what I did to help me take action in the direction of my dreams of starting my own 6-figure business, including outlining the very steps you can take in your own life and business. Oh, and don’t forget to tune in for the next segment where we’ll be covering business strategy (yes, I know you want that too!). Remember, with the right mindset and actions, your dreams are possible, lovely. P.P.S. And so often we're taught to really limit ourselves and to be realistic and all of that. But frankly, that sort of thinking has never served me. And I don't know anyone that it has actually served, right? It doesn't really help us do anything. It just keeps us in that place of lack and fear and keeps us stuck” -Emily Williams “You know, as entrepreneurs, it's not always smooth sailing, especially in the beginning. And so you have to be strong in your mindset and you have to believe that you are meant for this work and that you are meant to bring in the money that you desire. And so that's why this work is so important.” -Emily Williams

🎧169: 6-Figures in 6 Months Series: Part 1
I was literally on my way to find an apartment in Chicago (where I was soon to be enrolled in grad school) when I got that feeling in the pit of my stomach that something wasn’t right… Do you know the feeling? When you know you are not living the life you desire. But guess what? That moment changed the course of my life and, ultimately, led me here. So this episode is actually the first in a four-part series that is so incredibly powerful in helping you lay the foundation for chasing your dreams. For saying yes to your desires. So whether you have the dream of starting your own business or scaling one you already have, literally whatever it is that you desire, this episode (and series) is for you. Listen to part one as I share a bit about my story and how I went from a quarter-life crisis to a 6-figure business owner. How I went from earning $442 in my first month as a coach to hitting 6-figures in only 6 months (yes, really). Now, remember, if it was possible for me-- small-town girl swimming in debt-- it is literally possible for you too. Now, I will be the first to admit that having the support of insightful mentors and access to some amazing programs made a huge difference in my journey and success. I’m so grateful and that’s why I want to pay it forward by sharing this recording with you today. In this episode, I’m diving into the four big things that I did to actually get started on the path towards my dream business (and 6-figures). I talk about why you need to start saying yes to your dreams and no to fear. I explain why investing in your business is investing in yourself and your dreams (and is a total must-do). I’ll discuss why I recommend getting started even if you don’t have all the answers or systems in place. Lastly, I touch upon why you need to focus on working smart when building your business. What happened when I said yes to my dreams? What happened when I moved past fears and invested in myself and my business? I went from making $442 last July to six figures that January. Now, it’s time to start thinking about what is possible for you. After you’ve listened to this episode, be sure to tune back in for the three remaining episodes in this four-part series! P.S. There’s still time to save your seat for my up-coming LIVE webinar all about building that 6-figure coaching business! For years they've been telling themselves, ‘It's not realistic,’ or ‘It's not possible for me,’ or ‘She can do it, but I can't.’ Well, you know what? If someone's out there doing it, it's possible for you too.” -Emily Williams “You don't have to have everything figured out before you start -- just get started and just get moving towards your dreams.” -Emily Williams “When you have that openness. 🎧168: How to Stop Hiding and Go for Your Dreams

🎧168: How to Stop Hiding and Go for Your Dreams
Let’s face it, change isn’t just hard-- it can be downright scary. In fact, that’s why we sometimes avoid it altogether. We are so quick to fear what we have yet to experience. We are so quick to pull from past experiences or assume the worst. I mean, when was the last time you let fear talk you out of making a change, taking a risk, or saying yes to an opportunity because you didn’t know what would come of it? The crazy thing is we are so quick to hide from any change including the things that we know can help us get the results we desire in life and business. Why? It all stems from that fear. The fear of the unknown. The fear of failure. The fear of judgment. The fear of success (trust me, it’s a thing). What if I told you transformation is waiting on the other side of that fear? (Because it is). That’s why it’s important to understand what to do when these fears come up for you so you can stop hiding from the possibilities that exist for you. So you can experience the results you are after. So you can experience the abundance that the world has in store for you. So, I invite you to follow along as I reveal where the fear of change stems from and both the mindset shifts you can make and actions you can take to overcome it. I discuss the ways I’ve witnessed so many of my clients hiding from change (and how showing up to get support can be a huge help). I even talk about the ways I’ve had to work through my own fears and stop hiding in my own life and career. What I’ve learned from working through these fears is that it’s not that you can’t do the thing. It’s that it’s hard to imagine the incredible growth and benefits that could come from doing the thing simply because you’ve never experienced it before. I know it’s scary to put yourself and your business out there. What if you fail? I encourage you to flip the script and start asking yourself, what if you don’t? What if you land three new clients? What if your sales increase? What if your dreams become a reality? The bottom line is that no one benefits from you hiding. No one wins when you play it small. You deserve the transformation you desire. Your clients deserve the value you have to offer. So if you’re tired of feeling that guilt or shame that comes from knowing you should be making a change but continue to be overwhelmed by the fear of all that could go wrong, I invite you to take action. And you can start today by hitting play on this episode so you can learn how you can stop hiding and start saying yes to your dreams. In this episode… [04:12] Why our mind stops us from change. [06:21] Why you need to stop hiding (and get support). [07:24] Getting to the root of WHY you are hiding (hint: fear). [09:04] Shifting your mind to focus on the positive results. [11:29] Hear why you need to stop hiding from opportunities (and what to do instead). [13:01] Why you need to continuously evaluate your actions (or lack thereof) [13:59] The importance of taking action. [15:04] The past does not indicate what is possible for you. [17:02] Stop letting assumptions get in the way of your desires. So we have to remember that we are capable, we are strong. We no longer want to operate out of fear, right? Otherwise, we are destined to stay stuck forever.” -Emily Williams

🎧167: How to Use Human Design to Create More Success with Katie Irvine
Are you looking to create more success, joy, energy, and momentum in your life and business? Maybe you’re looking for more clarity around what you should be doing in life and how to open that door for success. You, my friend, are not alone. I’ve seen so many people get caught up in going down a path they feel obligated to go down because of some life experience they’ve had or what they saw someone else do. In reality, we should be paying more attention to what feels right and aligned than what we think we are supposed to be doing. We only live one life, so we deserve to do the thing that lights us up and makes us feel connected to our purpose. That’s why I’m so excited to have Katie Irvine on the IHML Show. Katie is an amazingly insightful woman and Human Design expert (she used to be one of our VAs!) who has so much to offer in terms of helping people utilize their Human Design to better their lives (and businesses). Katie’s passion for Human Design comes from a place of personal experience. She witnessed first hand how alignment with her energy and design can transform your life. After learning about Human Design for the first time (at an IHML retreat) she was obsessed and knew she wanted to help others use Human Design to find more peace and happiness in their own lives (we recently invited her to do this with our Mastermind students). Fast forward a few years and that’s exactly what she is doing in her own business today (and she absolutely loves it). Listen as we dive into all the things from Katie’s own experiences with Human Design (and ultimately starting her business) to how you too can benefit in your life and business by better understanding your own design. For those of you new to the whole Human Design thing, don’t worry. Katie explains exactly what it is (including a breakdown of the five main design types) and how it can help you not only better understand yourself, but how you best interact with everything happening around you as well. I’m telling you, once you understand your design type, you can better tap into your energy and literally change your life-- just like Katie did. So, if you are ready to stop doing what doesn’t feel right and start learning how to better align with your energy and the world around you, this episode is for you. So, why wait? If you don’t know it already, I recommend you find out about your Human Design today (Katie recommends using ) because it will help you pave the path toward success and happiness in every aspect of your life. P.S. If you like what you hear in this episode (I know you will), be sure to check out Katie’s special promo code for IHML Show listeners. 🎧166: Our Top 10 Lessons from 2020: Part 2 with James Williams
...And we’re back! In this episode, James and I review the rest of our top lessons from 2020. While this past year had its fair share of ups and downs, we cannot deny the endless opportunities to learn and the immense growth and personal development that took place. We’ve spent a lot of time discussing how changes and challenges help make us stronger and more resilient. They open important doors in the realm of personal and professional development. It’s what you do in the face of change and challenge that really determines the trajectory of the outcome. While we’re excited to be back and share our thoughts and lessons from this year, we encourage you to think about the lessons you’ve learned. To consider how you’ve grown. Whether some of your biggest lessons are the same as ours or not, we hope that in sharing these, you can head into the new year with actionable steps that will prepare you to step into your dreams in 2021. So, as you listen, consider what you can take away from our lessons and how they can inspire you to take action in your own life. Because that’s what it’s all about, right? Taking action? If James and I went through this whole year, especially the challenges, and chose not to do anything differently, chose not to make any changes, chose not to face the realizations or have honest conversations with ourselves and others, our business wouldn’t be thriving in the way it is today. We wouldn’t be fulfilled in the ways we are today. So, listen as we not only share more lessons from 2020 but how we took actions (or plan to) and made changes for the better. We encourage you to do the same because life is all about learning and growing. 2020 was a great reminder that, while we can’t control what life will throw at us, we can control how we respond to it. This two-part series is more than just the lessons we learned from 2020, it’s also a celebration. We celebrate each other’s growth. We’re proud of the growth of the business and the IHML Community. We want to celebrate yours too. We believe that no matter what 2020 looked like for you, you can reach your goals faster. You can have more joy in your life, improve your health, make more money-- whatever it is you desire. It starts by taking action. So tag us on Instagram @iheartmylife or email us at [email protected] and tell us how you are going to take action in the new year. If you don’t know where to start, we’ve got your back. And one of the things I think people can do to really check-in is just ask yourself, am I in alignment?” -Emily Williams “It's never about being this perfect human being. And I think that we will always fall off the horse and make mistakes, but it's about the bounce back.” -James Williams “As the years come to us in the future, we don't know what's going to be thrown at us. As we look forward to the year ahead, I want to support you as you set yourself up for success. So, in addition to listening to this episode, I invite you to download our free (and incredible) . At IHML, we recognize the value in learning from our experience, including the good, the bad, and the ugly. No matter the year, our mission is to help you step into your dream and live your best life. Now, knowing that 2020 was filled with unexpected challenges and unprecedented change, we wanted to share some of the most important realizations we had and lessons we learned this year in hopes of inspiring you to confidently move into the new year. This is a special episode of a two-part installment where James and I share our top 10 lessons from 2020. In this episode, listen as James and I talk through the first half of our list of lessons from 2020. These lessons have helped us find success (personally and professionally) despite the chaos and change this year brought. The best part? These lessons can be applied to next year and beyond for continued growth and prosperity. We talk about everything from how the pandemic showed us the benefit of being able to pivot (and led to some amazing virtual events), the importance of getting clear around your purpose (and then staying true to it), and the perks of keeping it simple. We talk about why you need to show up as yourself, getting what you pay for, and why recovery is just as important (if not more) than putting in the effort. Seriously, there’s a lot of good stuff in there. You don’t want to miss it. I love to have you tuning into the show, but I want to remind you of the importance of taking action. I hope you can learn from what we shared today and I hope this episode inspires you to reflect back on the lessons you learned from your life in 2020. More importantly, I would love to see you implement some of these teachings in your own life and business. In fact, I’d love for you to email us at info.Iheartmylife.com and tell us how you are going to take action in the new year. We love hearing about the changes our community is making in their lives. 🎧164: How to Close One Year and Start Another
A new year is an opportunity for a fresh start, right? It’s an incredible way to put the past behind us and move forward with a clean slate. However, before moving forward, I believe it’s so important to reflect on our challenges and celebrate our growth over the past 365 days to help us kick off the new year feeling resilient, powerful, and proud. I’d be willing to bet that 2020 did not unfold the way you had planned (am I right?). Now, I’m sure we’re all hoping the new year brings opportunities to travel, be with loved ones, get back to some sense of normalcy-- but we shouldn’t deny what 2020 has graced us with. While 2020 certainly introduced us to new challenges, it also brought new opportunities for growth and invitations for success. We have to acknowledge these lessons and find closure in this year before we can courageously jump into the next. Now, I want you to know that I want the best for you in 2021 (and beyond), but I know that it is not as easy as wishing dreams into existence. So, I recorded this episode with the hope of inspiring you to set yourself up to achieve your dreams in the new year. I want you, my friend, to jump into 2021 fueled by your achievements (and lessons learned from challenges) this past year. I want you to find clarity around your intentions and desires for what’s ahead. I want you to prepare to take action in the direction of your dreams. I want you to do the thing you dream of. Join me as I lead you through the important things to think about as you close out this year and prepare for the next. I invite you to listen as I walk through the three-step process that will help set yourself up for success. I wanted to talk about the importance of reflection (including questions you can ask yourself today to get started) as a way of finding closure. I share ways you can find clarity around and move into what it is you want to create for 2021-- yes, I’m talking about listening to your desires and setting those intentions, my friend (in both business and life in general). 🎧163: How to Handle the "I Don't Have the Money” Excuse on Sales Calls: A Real Coaching Session with Suzie Flynn
Think of a time when you said no to something because of money. Now, think about a time when you said yes to something, despite the money. What was the difference? Let’s face it, people use money as an excuse all the time, but the thing is, money is rarely at the root of the hesitation to say yes. If a strong and clear desire is there, we find a way. We find or borrow the money we need. We do what we have to do to make it happen. So, yes, this can be understandably confusing when it comes to sales calls. I mean, wouldn’t booking a call indicate desire in the first place? I know, it can be frustrating working with clients who can’t confidently commit to your offer. That’s why I wanted to invite you to listen to this recording of a recent coaching call I had with one of my IHML Mastermind students, Suzie Flynn. Suzie is a coach to virtual assistants who want to start their own business and she came to me looking for advice and support when it comes to dealing with the “I don’t have the money” excuse from her clients. Like Suzie, you deserve to work with clients who are ready to commit to you and all you have to offer. That’s why I am so excited to share this episode that will help you sift through the excuses that are standing in the way of hearing that confident “yes” you are looking for (and also help you recognize when the client isn’t quite ready). So, join us as I walk her through the steps needed to help clients move through what it is that’s really holding them back: fear and uncertainty. I explain just why clarifying a client’s desire is an imperative first step on any sales call, how to have honest conversations with them about money, and what needs to shift within you in order to show up more bold and confident on those calls. We talk about everything from process to marketing (and how celebrating client success publicly helps plant the seed for yes in others). While I may be coaching Suzie on this particular call, this episode is filled with tangible takeaways that you can apply to sales calls with your own clients. You will walk away from this episode with tools that can help support them in knowing that they're making the right decision (and make it with confidence). From specific questions you can ask to processes you can implement, you can learn so much simply by pressing play. If you enjoy the coaching you heard in this episode, remember that you too could qualify for a chance to win a one-to-one session with me in our incredible I Heart My Life Membership. The doors are opening soon, so make sure to save your spot on the ! In this episode… [02:28] Welcome, Suzie! Hear her goals for the session. [03:15] Suzie’s experience with client excuses (including how she handles it). [05:21] Helping clients getting clear on their desires. [08:18] Asking them, what would getting to a yes look like? [09:58] The benefit of explaining the psychology behind the decision. [11:45] How long should you stay on the call? (And what to have clients do before the call) [14:02] Listen as we work through what’s holding Suzie back when the money objection arises. [17:49] The importance of showing up bold and confident (not perfect) [20:23] Detaching yourself from the result of the call. [23:02] Identifying your ideal client (including being ready to receive your service). [24:33] Using marketing as social proof. 🎧162: What Worked in 2020: Installment Two with Valerie Del Grosso
As the year comes to a close, I hope you spend some time reflecting and celebrating how far you have come in 2020-- I know it’s been a wild ride. If there’s one thing that this year has taught me, it’s that mindset is so important when it comes to basically every aspect of life. Even in the midst of a global pandemic, people have been out there doing big things. People are saying yes to their dreams. They’re taking risks and making leaps in the direction of their desires. They’re letting go of what no longer serves them and making more time and space for what lights them up. Truthfully, I’ve been blown away by the transformations I’ve seen in the IHML Mastermind this year. I know this year has had its unforeseen challenges, but it’s been so inspiring to work alongside these amazing women who have completely changed their lives and businesses in 2020. I’m truly in awe of these women and all they have accomplished. That’s why I’m delighted to share with you the second installment of this series reviewing what worked for some of our lovely Mastermind students. Today, I invited Val Del Grosso to come on the show and not only share her 2020 transformation, but reveal the exact mindset shifts that helped make it possible. I invite you to not only listen to Val’s incredible story, but to consider how you too can make similar mindset shifts for the benefit of your life and business in the new year. Val is a lawyer who, like many business owners out there, expanded her business online in 2020. What makes her stand out is that she nearly doubled her business (and brought in 20k months) by spending only 10 to 12 hours on her online business each month. Even better? She got these incredible results without having to double her efforts (or run herself into the ground). So listen as Val reveals the shifts she made in her mindset and how taking the leap to join the Mastermind helped bring clarity around how to get the results she knew she wanted. We talk about everything from setting up the right offers to how showing up authentically with your clients. Val even gives us a glimpse of how these shifts in her business have led not only to financial success but more alignment and happiness in her life. So, I invite you to listen along and begin thinking about how you can implement similar shifts in your life and business in the new year and beyond. And if you are feeling inspired by Valerie’s amazing transformation in 2020 (I mean, who wouldn’t be!?) and want to know if our IHML Mastermind can help support you too, head over to our to see how we can help you in the new year. In this episode… [02:58] Welcome, Val! Hear about the work she does as a lawyer. [04:15] Hear about some of the shifts she made in her online business this year. [05:44] What were her goals for her business this year? (and how she found clarity) [06:50] Hear how she achieved her goals with just 12 hours a month! [08:36] What were the game changers for her? [10:12] Why you can stop guessing what your clients want. [10:57] You don’t have to compromise your dream (or happiness) for financial success. [15:22] Listen as Valarie reveals one of her big realizations this year. [16:15] Hear how leaning into her constraints helped guide her success. [17:48] “You don’t need thousands of clients to make a really great income.” [19:00] Hear Val’s advice to people looking to transform their life going into 2021. And so the Mastermind was a place where I could come to talk to people about what exactly was possible through the example that other people were setting in their own businesses. So that was kind of right at the start of the year-- I had something, but I wasn't exactly sure what it was or what it could be.” -Valerie Del Grosso “How often are we guessing when we could just ask people what it is that they want from us? And people are telling us that on a regular basis, if we're willing to listen as well. There's always clues in terms of their questions.” -Emily Williams “It's not about the dollars in the bank. It's really about the life that you're creating and allowing yourself to have freedom and to have choice and everyone's version of success looks different.” -Emily Williams “It's just this dream scenario now. And I thought I would have to compromise so much of that for the financial results, but actually focusing on the relationship and the way I want to feel in doing this work has brought so much abundance.” -Valerie Del Grosso

🎧161: Why Slowing Down to Speed Up Equals More Success with Dr. Greg Wells
Let’s be honest here, when’s the last time you stepped away from work? (Like, really stepped away). If you find yourself easily caught up in the hustle and bustle of running your own business, doing all the things, and just life in general, you are definitely not alone. In fact, so many of us (especially those of us who are achievement-driven workaholics) have been programmed to equate hard work with success. Over the past year, I’ve learned a lot about the many other factors that are necessary not only for success but for the lasting success and continued growth we’re striving for. Don’t get me wrong, hard work is an essential component for anyone looking to build and scale the business of their dreams. But what I’ve learned, with the help of amazing people like Dr. Greg Wells, is that things like a good night's sleep, taking care of my health, slowing down (so I can actually speed up) are essential to opening the doors for the transformation I’m after. I want you to achieve the transformation you are seeking, too. So, I’m excited to bring the incredible Dr. Greg on the show to share why resting, refocusing, and recharging are just as important to your success as hard work (I know, it took me a second to wrap my head around that too). He brings an abundance of knowledge and insightful personal experience to this episode that I hope will inspire you as much as it did me. If you’re feeling at all skeptical, I invite you to listen as Dr. Greg dives into the science behind how the brain works and how changing your state of mind enables you to unlock elevated levels of your potential. He explains the benefits of surrounding yourself with nature (even if it’s on your screensaver!), the importance of taking time away from work (vacation anyone?), and the benefits of unplugging from technology. He even shares his 1-2-3 rule that can help you slow down and step away from work (and reveal the benefits of delegation and automation in life and business). I’m telling you, there’s so much information in this episode that can seriously change your life. While we touch upon how rearranging our priorities and slowing down has opened the doors for better health, more happiness, and increased success in our own lives, I want to to pay close attention to how you can work to achieve those results for yourself too (Hint: It starts by committing to making a 1% change). It might involve letting go of external validation and judgment. It might involve a small shift in mindset. Whatever it is, remember that there is no time like the present. I encourage you to listen to this episode and pick one thing to take action on starting today. You’ll be surprised how much one small change will compound over time and lead to BIG results. In this episode… [03:57] Welcome to the show, Greg! [06:38] Learn more about Dr. Greg Wells and what lead him here. [09:01] Understanding the “why” behind slowing down and recharging. (Hear the science!) [12:32] Dr. Greg Wells shares a (cool!) example from his own life. [15:21] Learn how different physical states impact the way the mind works. [17:27] The benefits of nature on our bodies and minds. [19:48] Small things you can do to positively impact your mind and body. [21:08] Hear the 1-2-3 rule for taking time off (and away from technology). [24:24] The benefits of taking time off (and how it can help your business grow). [27:51] The benefits in our personal lives. [28:29] What we can learn from the pandemic. [32:25] The importance of recharging. [33:16] Dr. Greg’s advice on how to start making the 1% change in your life. [35:57] Learn how you will achieve more by doing less. [38:36] Hear Dr. Greg Wells’ advice for creating a life better than your dreams. [40:30] Why you need to let go of external judgment and validation. [43:38] Learn how to connect with Dr. Greg! And in fact, are begging for the opportunity and the growth that comes along with taking on some of those opportunities.” -Dr. Greg Wells “Gone are the days where people want to be working those crazy hours and they are starting to understand what the effects are on their health. And that there won't be a business if they keep operating in this way and there won't be a movement and they won't have the impact and the legacy.” -Emily Williams “It doesn't matter where you start, you just have to start and we want to be doing micro-changes consistently. The idea of being 1% better every single day compounds over time. And then you won't even recognize yourself in a year if you're able to do that.” -Dr. Greg Wells “So when we do stop doing things, we simplify our lives. We open up time and space that gives us the opportunity to either drop in new, interesting things or new interesting people that elevate us.” -Dr. Greg Wells

🎧160: Lessons From The Crown: Why Self Validation Is So Important

🎧160: Lessons From The Crown: Why Self Validation Is So Important
How many times do you go to bed feeling bad about all of the things you didn’t get done that day? I’m right there with you. And we’re not alone. A lot of driven women thrive off of those feelings of accomplishing all the things, right? We love to check off the items on the to-do list. We try to do it all. Now, when we inevitably run out of time (or dare to take a break!), we feel we’re not worthy of validation because we didn’t do enough. We’ve taught ourselves that achievement equals success and only that success is worthy of validation and pride. Guess what? It’s time we change that thought process. I was recently inspired by one of my favorite shows, The Crown (Season 4, Episode 8 to be exact), and started thinking about how much validation impacts our confidence and, therefore, our success. Truthfully, I’ve been doing a lot of work around self-validation and self-love lately and I know I’m not alone in needing this shift in mindset. We need to stop being so hard on ourselves and instead celebrate the greatness we bring to the table. That’s why I wanted to use this episode to talk about self-validation and why it’s imperative for our well-being in life and business. Simply put, we need to be kinder to, and more appreciative of, ourselves. As my husband often reminds me, self-validation should be the thing that fills you up, and everything else should just be a bonus. Your sense of worth and confidence shouldn’t depend on the words of someone else. You are worthy. You are amazing. You do great things. I could go on and on and say these things, right? But you need to hear them from yourself. Let me remind you that you don’t have to wait for some big achievement to recognize your worth and practice self-appreciation, either. In fact, I encourage you to start practicing self-validation and self-appreciation with every little thing you can think of. Showing appreciation for yourself has to be part of your daily routine in order for you to feel validated and to feel that self-worth that we are all craving. So, join me on this episode to hear the whys and hows behind starting the practice of self-validation in your life. Not only do I talk about why self-validation is so important to your success (and general well-being), but I also give you some ways you can start practicing more self-love in your life today. I invite you to listen to this episode and join me in practicing more self-love and appreciation because you, my friend, deserve it. In this episode… [03:38] Hear the inspiration behind the episode. [05:22] How do you feel love and validation? [07:11] The importance of self-validation. [09:06] The slippery-slope of achievement-based validation. [12:47] Making self-validation and appreciation a regular practice. [14:12] How can you practice self-validation on a daily basis? [15:41] Success and self-love. And so validate yourself, take care of yourself. The compliments and other people saying nice things about you, that should just be the bonus. It should not be something that you require to have happiness and to feel confident about yourself.” -Emily Williams “And if there's anything I've learned over the past few years, success is really dependent on your view of yourself. You have to sell to yourself before you can sell to anyone else. You have to believe that you can do it. You have to appreciate yourself and show yourself self-love.” -Emily Williams

🎧159: How to Know If You're Out Of Alignment with Lindsay Roselle
You know those seasons of your business (or life) when things just don’t feel right? You’re not wrong. Being in alignment in your life, both personally and professionally, is so incredibly important. The truth is, when you're personally out of alignment, your business will reflect that. That’s why I’m so excited to have Lindsay Roselle joining me on this episode to talk about all things alignment. Lindsay’s journey from corporate success to entrepreneurial endeavors is one we can all learn from. We begin by talking about everything from her decision to leave the security of the corporate world to the struggles she faced early on in her entrepreneurial journey. By sharing her story, she reminds us that while the road to alignment isn’t always smooth sailing, the end result is totally worth it. Because here’s the thing, alignment might be more imperative now than ever before. We live in a fast-paced world with a lot of high expectations set by what we see online and on social media. It’s so easy to get caught up with comparing yourself to the success of others and getting lost in the hustle mindset. I hope that my discussion with Lindsay can help remind you to pay attention to your now because getting too caught up in the future can lead to misalignment before you even get there. One of the great things about Lindsay is that she practices what she preaches. She literally started her business, Women & Inc, because the community she wanted to be a part of didn’t yet exist. She gets candid about the gumption (and humility to ask for help) it took to get her business started, and reveals the role alignment has played (and continues to play) as both she and her business evolve. And what started with 83 women in a bar (with only one table reserved!), now hosts events with nearly 2,000 attendees… so she must be on to something. Listen as Lindsay graciously shares her framework for getting (and staying) in alignment that she uses with her clients and how this framework can be used as a way to stay honest about your happiness and your desires. She also shares how she knows when she’s out of alignment. This was actually one of the most brilliant mile markers we’ve heard in a long time and something most people overlook, but it’s a tell-tale sign that something’s off. (You’ll have to listen to learn what it is!) And finally, she reminds us that success doesn't have to come at the cost of stress and unhappiness. At IHML, we want you to love your life in every sense of the word. So, if you have a hunch that something is not exactly aligned, or maybe you're just not feeling happy with your life or business, press play on this episode and learn all the things to help you get back to living your best life. In this episode… [02:38] Welcome Lindsay! Learn more about the story behind her success. [04:48] Hear Lindsay’s experience leaving the security of the corporate world. [06:29] How she knew she was ready to take the leap into entrepreneurship. [08:28] Finding fulfillment can be a bumpy road-- and that’s okay. [10:10] The beginning of Women& Inc. [17:15] The power of the community brain. [19:15] What surprised Lindsay the most about owning her own business? [22:48] Hear what Masterminds have taught Lindsay about alignment. [23:48] Navigating desire and alignment at the beginning of your new career. [26:30] “We’re all always in the work” (of alignment). [28:41] Key signs of being out of alignment. [32:38] Learn what Lindsay does when she’s feeling out of alignment. [33:58] Acknowledging and learning from misalignment. And as soon as you personally get out of alignment, nothing else is going to work.” -Lindsay Roselle “We're all always in the work. We're always in the work of figuring out what is aligned, what is true for us and, and what it's okay. If stuff changes it's okay. If life evolves, you just have to have those mechanisms in place and the support in place to keep coming back to yourself and, and trust that as soon as something starts to feel not in there, not in alignment that you have the power to stop it.” -Lindsay Roselle “I think where we get in trouble is where we're trying to sell too many things, or we're trying to keep up with the influencer on Instagram and run a challenge and do all these things on top of each other. And yeah, you might have a great financial month, but if it's at the cost of your alignment, if it's at the cost of your ability to take a day off or to sit in stillness and like being with yourself, those extra couple hundred thousand dollars are not worth it.” -Lindsay Roselle

🎧 158: How Not to Let Guilt Run or Ruin Your Life
When’s the last time someone openly talked to you about guilt? And not just about feeling guilt, but about how it can be really damaging and stand in the way of your dreams? Most of us are not taught this as children. In fact, we’re conditioned to accept guilt by being taught that we’re always supposed to put others first-- over our wants, dreams, and deepest desires. Now, what if I told you that didn’t have to be the case? That you’re not actually a bad person for putting yourself first? That saying goodbye to guilt is actually welcoming self-care with open arms? Trust me, this shift in mindset is a game-changer for you (and your business). That’s why I’m using this episode to break down why it's imperative that you get a handle on when guilt is running your life (hint: because it can ruin your success). I explain how to identify triggers and feelings of guilt, discuss what to do when guilt comes up (because it will), and dive into ways to shift and move through those feelings so they don’t burden you and hold you back. Truthfully, while friends and family can make us feel guilty for choosing something we want to do over what they want us to do, we make ourselves feel guilty all the time too. We feel wrong for raising our prices, taking time off from work, and taking time and space for ourselves. We are so quick to plant the seeds of guilt without even realizing it, but it’s imperative to your personal growth to understand why you need to stop letting guilt run (and ruin) your life-- like yesterday. So, join me as I dive into trading guilt for self-love. By the end of this episode, you’ll have a better understanding of why moving through guilt is an incredible opportunity to learn about ourselves (and our desires) and how saying no to those things you really don’t want to do (and letting go of judgment when others do the same) can actually build better relationships. The bottom line is you deserve to be happy. You deserve to go after your dreams. You deserve the success that will follow. But you need to stop letting guilt in the way. So, my friends, dive into this episode to start learning how. In this episode… [02:49] The root of guilt when building a business. [04:40] Why you need to stop saying yes when you want to say no. [07:20] How I dealt with guilt from my family (and James!) as I was building my business. [08:58] Why you need to put yourself first. [10:55] Being strong in your decisions (especially with how you spend your time). [12:46] How to navigate guilt with your partner. [13:43] Getting clear about your desires. [15:01] Why practicing self-love sometimes involves having hard conversations. [18:01] Using guilt as manipulation. [19:24] How you can learn from your guilt and live a life on your terms. So don't we want to enjoy it and really live it to the fullest and live it in the way that is our version of the fullest, not somebody else's?” -Emily Williams “Oftentimes we build things up in our mind and we're so nervous to speak our truth. 🎧157: How Focusing on Yourself Improves Your Relationships

🎧157: How Focusing on Yourself Improves Your Relationships
When’s the last time you focused on what makes you happy? Do you worry that doing more for yourself is going to negatively impact the important relationships in your life? You aren’t the only one, my friend. So many of us get trapped in this idea that putting others first is the magical ingredient to successful relationships. That’s simply not true. In fact, the opposite is true. This episode is all about why and how the success of your relationships with others depends on your ability to put yourself first I know, it sounds counterintuitive. But it really makes a lot of sense when you dig deeper. So yes, I’m here to tell you that it is okay to be selfish. The truth is, the individual is just as important as the relationship. In romance, we get so caught up in this idea of finding the person who “completes” us that we lose sight of what makes us happiest and healthiest. We spend so much time worrying about how others are going to judge our decisions and trying to do what we think will create the least amount of conflict. However, if you think about it, successful relationships are about communication, not judgement. That’s why James and I recorded this episode. We wanted to talk about how focusing on and learning about ourselves keeps our relationship strong. We’ve been able to grow together as individuals and a couple and we hope the journey we’ve been on in our relationship can help you reflect upon your own. Oh,and don’t get caught up by the word “relationship” here. The advice we dive into in this episode is seriously for anyone. Our advice can be applied to relationships with friends, spouses, teammates (even spouses who are teammates), you name it. Taking care of yourself is the best thing you can do for any relationship. That’s why we use this episode to discuss just why it’s so imperative to be able to define what makes you happy and why you need to stop making yourself wrong for whatever that may be. We touch upon the importance of being honest and speaking your truth in relationships. We also look into how our relationships are actually a reflection of our relationship with ourselves (including the judgements and fears we have!). Because if you're not your everything, how on earth can you expect to be making the choices that are going to make you happy? If you can't be your everything, and you're putting that on someone else, you're taking your own power away to resolve the inevitable challenges that come along with life.” -James Willaims “I think we all have these rules in our minds about what relationships are supposed to look like, how we're supposed to behave. And then of course, there's gender roles. And it's just in our perspective, the most important thing has been to be honest, and to honor ourselves and to essentially put ourselves first.” -Emily Williams “All great teams are made up of individuals who are authentic and owning their mastery to the best of their ability. And then the skill is to take those individuals and match them in a way that creates a result.“ -James Williams

🎧156: Three Things to Consider Before Joining a Mastermind

🎧156: Three Things to Consider Before Joining a Mastermind
We’ve all heard the phrase “two minds are better than one,” and it’s so true. This is the beauty of joining a Mastermind. I mean, seriously, there’s so much power there. (I’ll even share some of my own experiences with Masterminds in this episode). From support and inspiration to advice and accountability, the benefits can help propel you in the direction of some of your biggest goals. You have opportunities to learn, grow, and really just level up your business. And I want that for you. But I get it and know that it can be a little intimidating to choose a Mastermind when there are so many options out there (I’ve been there!). Masterminds come in all shapes and sizes, so it can be a little overwhelming to figure out which one is right for you. Trust me, I can assure you that taking the time to get clarity and figure this out is so important before making the investment with your time and money. Some Masterminds more structured, step-by-step learning experiences, others are more focused around networking, and others that are more just support-style groups. Regardless of the type of Mastermind you ultimately choose, you want to be sure it is the right fit for you. So, in this episode, I give you three things to think about before committing to any program, group, or coaching experience you are considering to help you learn, grow, and level up! First, I talk about why it’s so important to be able to really look at the leader of the Mastermind with admiration. You also need to really know what you want to get out of the group and that’s why I explain why knowing the coach isn’t quite enough. You want to really understand more about the other participants (How many are there? What types of people are they?). Last (but certainly not least) you have to know if the program has the ability to help you get the results you desire. Keeping that last one in mind, I also touch upon a little myth that Masterminds are a magic pill for success. Unfortunately, there are plenty of people who join Masterminds with this expectation. And, yes, I can tell you from experience as both a member and leader of Masterminds, they truly can transform you. BUT you have to be ready and willing to show up. And honestly, if you’re not willing or ready to do that, do yourself a favor and save your money. But, if you are ready to level up your business and step into the next chapter of your success story, do your research and take action. I hope this episode will help you do so with clarity. Want to see if the is the right fit for you? with us today. In this episode… [02:04] What is a Mastermind? [03:18] Different types of Masterminds. [04:18] Do you aspire to be where the leader/coach is? [08:09] Who are the participants? [09:34] Learning from other participants. [11:43] Will this help me get results? [12:30] Am I willing to show up and go all in? [15:22] What does it look like to hold yourself accountable? And so being a part of a group that does get what you want to do is really important and it's essential to your development.” -Emily Wiliams “The program that you're considering can be the best program in the world. But unless you are willing to show up and actually do the work and you won't get results.” -Emily Williams

🎧155: What Worked in 2020: Installment One with Rose Lounsbury
2020 has been quite the year, but I think it’s important to note that there has been some good amid all of this chaos. Yes, this year has been brought upon unprecedented changes and challenges in so many ways. On the other hand, it’s been full of opportunities to get realigned with our purpose and intuition. To shift our mindset to be more grateful for the little things that bring us joy. To open the door for new opportunities in our lives and businesses. I am so excited to share this conversation with one of my incredible IHML Mastermind students, Rose Lounsbury, because her transformation over the last year is just so inspiring. Rose is living proof that even in the craziest of years (hello, 2020!) you have the power to change your life. You can still scale your business (or completely change it, like Rose did). You can create more time and space for what makes you happy. You can learn to take better care of yourself mental and physically. While Rose is a simplicity coach specializing in helping people living happier lives with less stuff, she entered 2020 ready for more. More fulfillment. More happiness. More success in her business. She leveraged this year to learn and grow as she finally stopped saying yes to what no longer served her and started saying yes to her intuition. We talk about everything from transitioning into an online business, engaging more with her audience (and family!), practicing more gratitude, making better decisions for her health, and doing more of what makes her happy. So, tune in to this episode to learn just what Rose did this year to lead to both personal and professional success (she literally shares a list!). The best part? Rose is completely transparent here. Listen as she gets real about the challenge of learning to trust yourself. Hear her thoughts on everything from how simplifying the expectations you have for yourself can totally change your day to why asking for help is not a weakness. I’m telling you, by listening to this conversation, you will walk away with more than an inspiring story. You’ll also have a list of key takeaways you can apply to your own transformation starting today. Are you feeling inspired by Rose’s success story yet? Same. Every time I hear her story, I’m blown away. Truthfully, I’m honored to be a part of it through our Mastermind. The IHML Mastermind helped transform Rose’s life by giving her the tools and support she needed to step into her power and continue living her best life. If you’re curious to see if we can do that for you too, head over to our website to see how could help transform your life too. In this episode… [04:11] Welcome Rose! That's going to go beyond this and I'm not going back. Like COVID provides me that really great excuse to stop doing the business this way. But it's, it's also when I'm going to build the better thing and then I'm going forward in that way.” -Rose Lounsbury ”And so it was just this moment where I was like, when you let go of the thing that you need to let go of, the next thing is right there. And it just like gave me that faith that yes, it's okay to let go because the universe is going to provide me with that next thing.” -Rose Lounsbury “You think, well, I don't need any other additional help, but actually it's amazing. Like when you humble yourself enough to realize like, like we can all receive help and it's a beautiful thing that it makes a big difference in our lives. “ -Rose Lounsbury “Learning to trust myself, it sounds easy, but man, is that the most challenging thing that you can ever attempt to do.” -Rose Lounsbury

🎧154: How to Use Gratitude to Transform Your Life
‘Tis the season to be grateful, right? But, honestly, gratitude deserves a special place in your heart and mind every. single. day. It’s all about a shift in your mindset. I mean, how many times have you gotten out of bed with dread on your heart and on your mind? It’s time to start retraining your brain to focus on the positive (it really does work) and I’m totally here for it. I continue to be blown away by the power of adopting a more grateful mindset. Gratitude has changed my life in so many ways (including leading me to create I Heart My Life) and it can do the same for you. I know-- we’re all busy. But all it takes is a mere few minutes of each day to create meaningful shifts in your life (and business). Truthfully, it took hitting a low point in my life (hello, quarter-life crisis) for me to reconnect with the idea of gratitude and really look into making it part of my day-to-day life. I was at a point where I was ready and willing to try anything to feel good again. To have clarity. To find my purpose. And so began my journey of intentionally practicing gratitude each and every day. And here’s what I quickly realized: Gratitude follows the Law of Attraction. The more we acknowledge the positive influences in our life, the more goodness and positivity we will attract. No joke, I landed my dream job and my dream guy after shifting into a more grateful mindset. But being grateful means you have to settle, right? Wrong. I found that my gratitude helped propel me in the direction of my desires. Here’s how it works: Once you start paying attention to the good things you have in front of you, the more awareness you’ll have for the possibilities before you. And this isn’t just some overly idealistic thought, either. Listen as I share the research supporting the positive impact practicing gratitude has on our minds (including changing and retraining our brains) and bodies, as well as those around us. Friends, gratitude has the power to change the world and now is the perfect time to create your own gratitude practice. Like I said, it only takes a few minutes a day... Ready to learn how? Press play! In this Episode: [02:12] My roots with gratitude. [04:28] Learn the power of the little things. [05:34] Drive and gratitude can co-exist. [06:02] We get what we focus on. [08:57] A sneak peek into my daily gratitude practice. [09:40] Show me the studies: Research behind the benefits of gratitude. [12:40] Exercises to help you practice gratitude. [16:02] Gratitude can change the world (literally). [18:13] Practicing gratitude will literally transform your life. But what I found was that it was so imperative for me to be grateful so that I could go to the next level and my drive would actually be met with results.” -Emily Williams “We get what we focus on. And so when you're focused on all the things that aren't going, right, or all the things that you want, that you don't currently have, that's what your eyes are going to see.” -Emily Williams “If we think about the energy that we're giving off, it's like a magnet.
