The GANGSTERCAST DJ mix series comes from the I'M A HOUSE GANGSTER movement. A HOUSE GANGSTER has the undying commitment and passion for House music, they know that this music is not a trend, it's a culture. The mixes all come from the DJs that follow this culture and love and respect the sound - some are established names on the worldwide scene, some are the future stars of tomorrow, and they all represent the raw, underground essence of real House music. Each mix in the GANGSTERCAST series allows the DJ to present their own take on House music and what it means to them. Episode 96 of the Gangstercast series is brought to us by London based producer Riki Inocente. Riki is a pure self-taught producer, re mixer and DJ, his music has been moving dance floors all over the world for the last decade. He is forever experimenting new ideas drawing on the wealth of knowledge he has and life experience within the house movement, his releases include re mixes from DJ Sneak, underground label boss Hector Moralez and Grammy nominee, and house legend DJ Todd Terry. Soon after Riki was introduced to DJ Sneak, ‘We Iz Underground’ was released on Sneak’s flagship label Magnetic with remixes from Hector Moralez and from the label boss himself. The record was produced by Riki Inocente and Darren Roach under the alias of 'Bluntz & Roachez’. Later that year they were asked to do a remix of one of Sneak’s original cuts 'Bodytalkin', a project he released on DJ Sneak Classic's label. In 2013, Riki dropped his first Gangstercast and now he’s back to deliver another. Hector, born in Ibiza and Carlos, born in Majorca met after working as sound and light technicians for Pacha Ibiza in 2008. Soon afterwards, both realized that each had a mutual love and talent for music and decided to begin an after party in Ibiza. From the very first set played together in 2008, a great musical collaboration was discovered by successfully merging together each one's style. Since then, Hector and Carlos have joined forces to form 2Vilas. They began producing and within a very short period of time have already released tracks with record labels: Isgud Records, Bondage Music, Straight Music, Anhura Records and WetCellarRecords. Mikey is a DJ, producer and vocalist from Los Angeles, California, who has been a staple on the West Coast underground house scene since 2006. He is best known for throwing the infamous HAWT underground parties. In 2014 Mikey found himself focused mainly on original productions and vocal projects, with releases on Classic Music Company, Dirtybird, Snatch!, Great lakes Audio, Cajual Records and Salted Music. When we sat down with Mikey, we asked how the mix represented him as an artist, Mikey replied with “I like to keep things lively and fun with a blend of deep, jack, soul and tech.” Mikey went on to explain, what house music meant to him “House music is my life. It truly saved me so many times and shaped me into the person I am today. I knew a long time ago this was for me, regardless of my place in it. When you know, you know. It’s more than just the music it’s the way of life.” We then asked Mikey what the House Gangster movement meant to him, he responded with, “It’s a game changer. I love how it stays true to that proper, raw underground sound that a lot of people maybe haven’t been exposed too, that’s so important. It’s been crazy awesome seeing it grow so much over the years, and I think it’s just the beginning.”

Episode 91 of the Gangstercast series is brought to us by Ralo & Strada aka Raul Peña and Felix Estrella, who are two incredible producers originating from the world of Hip Hop and now making House - one living in Miami and the other in Atlanta. Being an audio engineer for big Hip-Hop names in the early 90’s Ralo eventually got tired and felt like it was time to flip the script and speed up the tempo creating fresh house grooves. His productions have been played by Jesse Perez during BPM 2014 and the release of his EP on Sishi Rosch & Diego Moreno's imprint Digital Delight in 2016. Strada was born in the south of Lima Peru, he then made his way to the U.S. as a young boy. Constantly in the studio, working diligently and searching each day for new sounds, he fell in love with the raw, filthy, nasty, funky and groovy beats of house music. It was in 2014 when they crossed paths, fellow producers who shared the same passion. They teamed up for an EP on Miami’s own Mr. Nice Guy Records in late 2015 and recently released on IAHG in 2016, and there's plenty more to come for this dream team! Tapesh has been around the block and then some. Growing up in clubs owned by his father and having interest in all types of musical genres has made the multicultural German a true fanatic when it comes to play and produce music. He’s been making music since his teens and never stopped tweaking, improving and looking for new types of genres to produce. The same goes for his dj-ing. Having released on labels such as Mobilee, Hot Creations, Defected and Suara one can easily tell the variety of musical styles Tapesh has interest in producing. Besides being a studio monster, Tapesh loves touring around the world playing his trademark sound or spend time on Ibiza and play at his ‘Ants’ residency at Ushuaia. Wanting to always reach the next level music wise, it’s no surprise Tapesh is starting his own label. The imprint is going to be called Akulee and the first release will be by Tapesh himself. The three track EP is called ‘Panus-Fasciatus’ and will be out in May 2016. Akulee is focussing on the high-quality areas of house and techno. DJ Bee brings episode 85 of the Gangstercast series, if there is one word that can identify Bee its house, a sound that he has always been loyal too. This sound had defined him as a person and as a DJ with the roots of house always presented in his sets. He has become known as a radio DJ and producer who wants to preserve what he sees pure in dance music. DJ Bee and radio is an inseparable union that has played a vital role in his career showcasing his unique sound on Spanish radio with the program “House Time” and “Bee Live”. One of his strengths in which a few DJs have in Spain is the capability to be consistent in his support for a personal and classic sound. DJ Bee has played all around Spain and had a long period as a resident at Love Show that allowed him to earn the love and respect of the crowds wherever he plays. As a producer he had been building on a sound that he loves, generating the same passion and taste in music to be transmitted in all productions. Labels like Urbana, Conya, Kings Of Groove, Soulstar among others have released his music. These productions have allowed him to be recognised on the International circuit to earn him respect globally and not only as a DJ in Spain. Born and raised in New York City, his passion for music was developed at an early age during the golden age of Hip Hop in the late 80s. By age 13 he had his first pair of turntables and began practicing cuttin n scratchin and mixing. By age 15, he discovered House Music listening to a mixtape graffiti legend “Niceo” was playing in his boombox. Todd Terry’s “Can U Party” was on blast and he was hooked ever since and began to explore House Music more. By age 38, he purchased Ableton 8 and an Akai MPK 25 and started making house tunes. Legendary DJ and producer Norty Cotto signed his first track dubbed “Come On Over” to Naughty Boy Music and from that point on he’s released tracks on labels like Doin Work Records, Juiced Music, Greenhouse Music, Next Dimension Music and many more. DJ Genesis’s passion for music is as high today as it was when he was a young man hustling mixtapes in high school. When we sat down with DJ Genesis we asked how he choose the tracks for this mix and he said, “It was tough because there was so much good house music I had to sort through. But I selected tracks that best compliment each other during the course of the mix.” He went on to explain, "I also threw on 3 IAHG cutz that fit perfect into the mix as well as a classic DJ Sneak & DJ Dan collab (Super Juice) and a exclusive track from Loop Jacker (The Underground Piano) droppin soon on Krome Boulevard Music and from J-Fader (BlackBack [Sample That]).”

Episode 83 of the Gangstercast series is orchestrated by Rob Paine from Worship Recordings. Rob’s roots run deep. From the moment he heard music as a youth, he knew where his mind, body, and soul would take him. That passion has provided the foundation for a diverse and eclectic musical immersion ever since! He has been on a rapid rise from bedroom mix tapes to underground events to DJing internationally. He, along with his Circle Production crew, created and curated some of the most epic parties in Philadelphia. In parallel, he began to flex his music theory education and production expertise by creating a broad range of songs across a myriad of genres such as house, techno, reggae, broken beat, dub, and down-tempo. Rob formed WORSHIP RECORDINGS in 1998 along with Dan Thompson and Zack Eberz. This brand clearly reflected his vision to pay respect to the roots of music while inspiring him self and others to innovate for the future. In fact, in 1999 he was awarded the “Most Innovative Producer” by the Philadelphia City Paper. Soon after, he and Zack began using the SOLOMONIC SOUND name for their productions and as a vehicle for releasing their dub-influenced house and techno tracks on Worship.
