Interview with Rising R&B Artist KEN
Awarded the 2018 Black Label ‘Woman Artist of the Year Award’, R&B singer KEN continues to set the bar in what is proving to be one of her most healing records yet “N E Thing”. Applying a more mindful definition to the traditional meaning of “unconditional love”, “N E Thing” does not explore a love without boundaries but rather, love without conditions. Introducing an uplifting tone fit for the changing of seasons, KEN kicks off a new sound in comparison to her former tendency toward downbeat, lo-fi tracks. Focused on exuding high vibration music, the transition to a happier, lighter R&B sound suits the environment she’s excelling in as she hopes to heal listeners from across the globe with ambient melodies fit for the radio waves.

Interview with The Jared Stout Band
Kicking the year off on a high note, Virginia’s alt country powerhouse - The Jared Stout Band - is ready to introduce an emotive storyline about the working man’s desire for love out of his league. Paired with a high powered music video directed and produced by Jamie Neighbors of Boss Motion Pictures, they follow a night in the life of a blue collar worker who meets the girl of his dreams at a bar. The only problem? She might be way out of his league. His inner monologue pleads for the price of her love as he questions whether or not he is enough for her. A song about love, lust and leaving, the music video portrays a woman from a higher class as she ventures into a small town bar; out of place with her surroundings, she finds her attention fixed on the band that is playing, while the band's lead singer finds his full attention fixed on her. “There’s price tags on your lovin, Like your heart is made of gold / Or is it something quick your wantin, Just a night to hold” ~ “Cost” Latching eyes from across the room, the singer builds up the courage to ask the girl to dance and the two find a connection stronger than anyone could have expected. Now wondering, “What’s the cost of your kiss?”, the unsuspecting couple dances in the bar as everything fades away. Caught up in the moment, they kiss and everything fades to black. Transparent about the fact that they come from two different classes, we witness curiosity, courage and the pursuit of a genuine connection despite any societal limitations. Set to play Virginia’s nationally-renowned Floyd Fest in 2023, The Jared Stout Band is well-positioned for the festival circuit. Delivering a dynamically unforgettable LIVE performance, their show has been coined as something that you definitely don’t want to miss. Having previously opened for notable artists like Blues Traveler, Phil Vassar, 38 Special, Cassadee Pope and Eric Paslay, their talents are praised by some of the biggest artists in Country music. Their work has received high praises from notable outlets like Celebmix, Broadway World and Hometown Country Music. Now back with a song to be applied to a vast array of life experience, their new track has a little something for everyone who is ready to turn their luck around.

Exclusive Interview With Bright Brown
Brooklyn-based singer, Chapman Stick player, and multi-instrumentalist Alex Nahas aka Bright Brown confronts our collective existentialism in his hypnotizing new hit “Aimless”. Delivering reflective vocals and an addictive instrumental loop, “Aimless” questions our continued desire to set lofty goals despite knowing that there’s only so much that we can control. The pandemic proved that life is capable of throwing us unpredictable turns in events, making it that much harder to plan and devise. So instead of planning ahead, “Aimless” is about living in the moment and the beauty of being present during uncertainty as we continue to take life one fickle day at a time. Ironically, the first time Nahas performed “Aimless” was a few days before everything shut down for COVID. At the time, the song was simply an improvisation, but as time went on, the lyrics took on a whole new meaning. Aimless features Nahas singing and playing the rarely heard Chapman Stick, Eddie Avakian on drums, Jamie Muhoberac on keyboards, and Ava Nahas on percussion. As his music has evolved over time, so have his other creative endeavors. Recently, his latest EP offered fans a beautifully illustrated lyric book, where he reflected in a post-2020 world through his dark but hopeful lens. Nahas delivers musical influence from artists like Peter Gabriel, Talk Talk, David Bowie and Elvis Costello - all being one of a kind musicians who shoehorned unorthodox approaches into digestible pop music. Thoughtful and reflective, with a knack for rendering outside-world concerns in the landscape of the personal, Bright Brown continues to venture into new frontiers with each successive song.

Hailing from Philadelphia's burgeoning punk scene, Riverside Odds is back with a hard-hitting track that any visitor to rock n roll will relate to. "Blessings from the Devil" shares a glimpse of some of the darker, more vice-driven elements of the rock n roll lifestyle through a unique lens of personal accountability. Instrumentally energetic, the album explodes with stunning guitar riffs and lead vocals by original band member RW Hellborn, lead guitar by Matty Cobra, impactful bass by Eddie Spaghetti from Supersuckers and the intensity of Jorge Disguster from The Hangmen's captivating drum lines (LIVE band includes G. Patrick Poli on bass & Ginger Knight on drums). I got the chance to speak with RW Hellborn about the single and heres what he had to say.

Interview with CARRIE BAXTER
I got the chance to speak with Singer/Songwritter Carrie Baxter. Carrie who now lives in London provided amazing details on how her newest single "YOU" was created. Speaking on the track, Carrie explains; "If I could do an alternate version of every track I would, specifically just me and a pianist (my favourite instrument) There’s something about the romance of this song and it needing a piano on this version. The space I have to sing and the words being allowed to breath is the stuff I live for. The live video, accompanying the release, is a stunning one-take visual illumination of the raw talent of Carrie. Recorded totally live, with absolutely zero tweaks to the audio or visual, it is fair to say the video is an honest reflection of this burgeoning artist’s unique vocals, immense potential and a humble offering of what a Carrie Baxter live show would offer. Speaking on the video, Carrie states; “I love singing live, ultimately it’s what I do it for. I usually try to stick to minimal takes in the studio at all times but this time, luckily or unluckily I was going through a pretty tough time when we recorded this so I trusted myself enough to deliver raw emotion in one take.”
