What My Kids Have Taught Me

What My Kids Have Taught Me
My Wife Kelly and I struggled for 2 years trying to having kids and we went through the IVF process to try to get pregnant. When we found out we were pregnant with triplets we didn’t know how to react. We started sharing our news “that we were expecting triplets” we didn’t get the reaction from people that we thought we would. A lot of the comments we got were negative back handed if you will. We have always thought of our triplets as blessings. Because they truly are. The older they have gotten the more I have learned from them! These are some of the key topics I go in depth about in my podcast: If you have a great business idea, keep it to yourself first. People may not react as you did to your idea, and remember it’s not their job too be as excited as you about it. Don’t let fear hold you back, it’s okay to make a mistake. It’s okay when something doesn’t go as planned. No play goes 100% the way you want it to. The more you put yourself in an uncomfortable situation the more likely you are to grow forward and become more confident with your ability. You have already survived the worst of days in your life so far, and you are still here. Follow Joe on Social: Insta: YouTube: Facebook:

The Most Overlooked Fundamentals

The Most Overlooked Fundamentals
On this episode of the Just Keep Reaching Show I talk about the most often overlooked fundamentals. I have been noticing lately a lot of people think they know the fundamentals, but in reality they really don’t. The fundamentals to me is something people need to get down to be able to achieve their true potential. This means everything from positive mindset and solutions, to tracking, to making an impact on people. Serving people should be your focus, but how do you keep track of all of them? I hit on the topic of key performance indicators, where you can learn who you have communicated with, who you’ve already made an impact on, and who you still have left to reach out to. There is 5 billion people in the world, it is impossible to remember every conversation with every person you reach out to. You learn things each and every day. Training is something you should do every day, but train on the basics and the fundamentals. That is how you can consistently grow every day and learn as much as you possibly can. These are some of the key fundamentals that I go in depth about in this episode: Start tracking! Don’t wing it, because you won’t know if you are progressing or not. Look at failures in a positive solution mindset. A loss is an opportunity, not a failure. Making an impact on people should be your end goal. You will never have to worry about your income if you focus on the bigger picture on helping others. Training is necessary for you not to neglect some of the fundamental steps of life. Fitness & Social Media Journey with Special Guest Jill Christine, PEScience Athlete
Today I had the privilege of talking with Jill Christine, an athlete for PEScience about her fitness journey and being a social media influencer. Jill is born, raised and currently resides in Minne”snow”ta. She has had a tremendous weight loss/fitness journey herself. She was overweight growing up and struggled with her body image Jill’s senior year of high school she was at her heaviest weight of 180 lbs (before her journey began.) The following January after graduating high school is when her fitness journey started. She cut out alcohol, switched from eating unhealthy to healthy foods, and starting exercising consistently with lifting weights and cardio. About 6 months into her journey she lost 50 lbs. “When you start this journey you have to make it a lifestyle, you can’t just do it to lose the weight and then go back to your old habits.” Jill started to struggle with re-gaining some of the weight she lost but then maintained a “skinny” physique for a couple years. Which led to an unhealthy obsession with exercise. “Even though I was “thin” I was mentally not healthy.” She needed to shift her mindset then to a “self-love” journey rather than a weight loss journey. In the past few years she gained 10 lbs of muscle and that's when she social media presence picked up. Listen in to here more about Jill Christine’s journey. Highlighted questions: Have you always been in great shape? What would you say to someone that says they’re stuck or struggling on their journey? Could people be struggling with their journey because their environment? Why do you think people look-up and engage with you on social media? Do you become a social media influencer overnight? Do you ever feel like giving up? What is some encouragement you can give to people just starting their fitness journey? What is your advice for people trying to grow their social media influence? Serial Entrepreneur Anne Mahlum, Founder of Back on My Feet & Soildcore
I had an amazing opportunity to sit down with Anne Mahlum. Anne is an incredible serial entrepreneur that likes to go fast! She started her first non-profit business that is called ‘Back On My Feet’ eleven years ago. After about six and a half years with Back On My Feet, Anne just kept reaching and started her next business venture that is growing at an accelerated rate, Solidcore. Solidcore has a changed from the workout stereotype to slow, controlled resistance training workout. Anne is most definitely a person who has a drive to make an impact on the community. At the very beginning of her journey she knew the change started with one person, herself. She also recognized that the change you want to make in the world needs to be your passion. It is important to be driven by your passion not just money. Being a huge believer of tracking, Anne felt strongly about tracking KPI’s and I couldn’t agree more! KPI is a Key Performance Indicator, tracking these is important because you need to know what you are being measured against then you can see how far you have come and what direction you are going. Question Highlights: What’s a piece of advice you would give someone to move them outside of their comfort zone towards their passion? What does being “bold” mean to you? How has giving more lead to more success for you? What would you tell someone who wants to give up? Do you think that everyone can be an entrepreneur? What is your opinion on having business partners or employees? Why do you think that you have such high retention in your company? How important is a KPI in a business?
