Too Opinionated Interview: Gordon Lownds
Canadian Super Star entrepreneur, Sleep Country Canada Co-Founder Gordon Lownds entered the literary world with a bang. with his new memoir, “Cracking Up” - from rising star to junkie despair in 1,000 days available now wherever books are sold. At forty-eight Lownds was at the peak of his career, starting up what would become the billion-dollar enterprise, Sleep Country Canada. Lownds began Sleep Country’s journey with his friend and business partner Stephen Gunn and Christine McGee. Life was good, better than good, what could go wrong. Everything. An ill-fated experimental use of crack cocaine in the seedy depths of Vancouver’s Downtown Lower East Side quickly morphed into a raging, hardcore, shooting-up junkie experience. How far does Lownds fall? All the way and it isn’t pretty. Slinking through murky alleys in the infamous downtown lower east side of Vancouver, forced to endure the raunchy underworld, featuring drug dealers, hookers, bikers, blackmail, and death threats, OD’s and drug busts, looking for his next fix– all while coping with a psychotic girlfriend. So, yes this is a cautionary tale. Addiction can happen to anyone, anytime, anywhere, anyhow. “There are no guarantees that we will ever come back from our bottoms alive.” His adventures in rehab took Lownds on another type of revealing carnival ride. Navigating an afterlife in the confounding recovery community produced its own unique challenges, exacerbated by suddenly becoming a multi-millionaire.… Lownds keeps his demons at bay and life’s journey continues. “Cracking Up” is a shake your head, hold your breath roller coaster ride. A full-blown, down-and-dirty, soul-destructing, and death-defying series of events that occurred in just 1,000 days, followed by a penitential pilgrimage that took years. A journey infused with tragedy, tempered by humor. “Cracking Up” is a ride you don’t want to miss. Want to watch: YouTube Meisterkhan Pod (Please Subscribe)

Too Opinionated Interview: Mark Harris
Today on Too Opinionated, we sit back down with author Mark Harris to get an update about his book, House of the Holy. A true story that will shock you. This is an unprecedented story of one man’s survival in his struggle against the power of the Federal Government, State Government, the extreme right, the religious right, the mob, and the cult of Freemasonry. It is extremely well documented and focuses on unholy alliances and the strangle hold religion and money have on politics and law enforcement. It exposes a legacy of hate and corruption in the religious right and Freemasonry. The colorful cast of often cartoonish characters is compelling and will shock and entertain the reader. It includes a federal convict engaged in a life of crime while local state and federal authorities run around in circles cleaning up after him, George W. Bush’s former attorney, the son of a mobster who was a known associate of Santo Trafficante Jr., the son of the racist doctor who chose the first astronauts, former Governor Rick Scott, the US Acting Assistant Attorney General and future Acting Attorney General, and parade of religious leaders willing to commit crimes to protect a monster, and many others. Too Opinionated Interview: Nick Bryant
The FBI has just declared there is no Epstein client list. For millions of Americans across political lines, this strains credibility—and raises serious questions, not the least is about the FBI's own discussions of the Epstein 'list'. Nick Bryant, a former reporter, knows this story very well, having worked with the original team who first broke the story. He has written books about the mindset and underground network that fuels such activities, such as in college sports and other industries, as documented in The Franklin Scandal. He helped found Epstein Justice, to bring resources to the victims of the Epstein empire. Is the FBI's recent declaration a betrayal of public trust as well as known facts? Nick Bryant thinks so. Nick Bryant's writing has recurrently focused on the plight of disadvantaged children in the United States. He's been published in numerous national journals, including the Journal of Professional Ethics, Journal of Applied Developmental Psychology, Journal of Social Distress and Homelessness, Journal of Health Care for the Poor and Underserved, and Journal of School Health. He co-authored America’s Children: Triumph or Tragedy, addressing the medical and developmental problems of lower socioeconomic children in America. Bryant is the author of The Franklin Scandal: A Story of Powerbrokers, Child Abuse, & Betrayal. He has also contributed a chapter on child trafficking to Global Perspectives on Dissociative Disorders: Individual and Societal Oppression, a book addressing various facets of dissociative disorders. He is the co-author of Confessions of a DC Madam: The Politics of Sex, Lies, and Blackmail. His mainstream and investigative work has appeared in USA Today Magazine, Playboy, Salon, The Twin Cities Reader, Vanity Fair, New York, GEAR, Gawker, the Scheer Post, and other publications too ignominious to mention. Too Opinionated Interview: Paul Berkowitz
Paul Berkowitz is the nation’s leading authority on the history and evolution of law enforcement in the National Park Service (NPS). He has served as an expert witness in federal court, and as a guest instructor at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center. He is the author of several books about NPS law enforcement, and continues to write and serve as an instructor and guest speaker at police academies, colleges and universities, and seminars across the country. A recent report by CBS News cites that as federal policies and staffing levels rapidly change in the name of government efficiency, park and historical sites across the United States are in jeopardy of losing out on important federal protections. The National Park System Advisory Board was quietly dissolved in May. Across the entire National Park Service, 13 percent of employees were pushed out since January, a loss of up to 3,000 workers. With nearly $1 billion in budget cuts to the National Park Service proposed for next year, national parks advocates estimate 350 additional historical, cultural or natural sites nationwide are at risk of closing. Add to this dilemma, the fact that park staff was already reduced and overworked before the Trump Administration cuts began. Paul uncovered a fascinating history of crime and crime-fighting in our national parks and forests that goes back over a century. His research and writing have served to debunk many of the popular myths about the “ranger image,” shedding light on the critical law enforcement role that rangers have long played in our national parks and other public lands. Much of this research was first chronicled in his seminal book, U.S. Rangers – the Law of the Land (CAT Publishing, 1991 – 1995). Paul’s career was also distinguished by his , reporting, writing, and even testifying before a Congressional subcommittee about government corruption, up to and including illegal bugging activities and cover-up of high-level management misconduct. Some of those events and activities are chronicled in his award-winning book, The Case of the Indian Trader: Billy Malone and the National Park Service Investigation at Hubbell Trading Post (University of New Mexico Press, 2011).* Paul’s third book, Legacy of the Yosemite Mafia – the Ranger Image and Noble Cause Corruption in the National Park Service (Trine Day LLC, 2017) draws upon much of his previous research, writing, and personal experience to expose and demonstrate how the failure of the NPS to acknowledge or appreciate its actual history – both good and bad – has undercut credibility, alienating impacted individuals and communities and ultimately impeding the agency in the fulfillment of its statutory mission. Decoding How We Think This isn’t just a book about branding—it’s a guide to the hidden operating system behind human behaviour. The Divided Brain introduces a simple yet powerful metaphor rooted in neuroscience: our minds are driven by two distinct but interlocking systems—the fast, emotional Old Brain and the slower, rational New Brain. Every decision your customers make, every instinct your team follows, and every reaction you encounter in a negotiation or pitch stems from the constant tension between these two mental gears. Once you learn to spot which brain is in control, the fog lifts. What once seemed irrational becomes understandable. Sudden client reversals, hesitations in sales calls, or why one brand sticks while another flops—it all starts to make sense. Want to watch: YouTube Meisterkhan Pod (Please Subscribe)
