15 When Guys Go Ghost Pt. 2
“Throw that ish on a chart on the wall… and connect the dots!” Find out what Travis is talking about in the second half of When Guys Go Ghost… Key Takeaways: How can you tell when someone is dominant or passive? Men can tell how Men “want it” but men want to be in the position to “earn” it. Never allow someone who makes you feel insecure or humiliated back into your life, no matter how positive you try to make the relationship out to be. Those who are willing to go ghost on someone, something inside of them is destroyed to where they lack the capacity to feel empathy for others, have any decency or feel the guilt of hurting someone else. It takes nothing to communicate your needs with others “You walk around effectively heartbroken but, you are afraid to admit at. It is a special open-ended kind of pain like a disease with no name.” There’s never a good explanation for a person to go ghost Play to win! Closure doesn’t require another person Timeline of the show: :22 Recap of the last episode 1:15 Men’s instincts 3:37 Can you ever forgive and restore a relationship with someone who’s gone ghost on you? 5:45 Hope drops some gems 8:02 Effective communication 12:00 Quote from Tim Kreider’s essay “The Anti-Kreider Club” in the book, We Learn Nothing. 16:15 Travis get Biblical but, drops a gem. 17:11 Do you believe the guy was into the writer? 17:50 Kissing 22:50 How to reach Travis 23:15 Was there anything the writer could have done differently to have the outcome be different? 26:00 Lesson Learned 27:34 Travis ministers to us. LOL 28:07 Travis’ final thoughts 29:03 Where there any red flags that she may have missed? 30:00 We get distracted… OF COURSE! 33:25 Hope’s final thoughts 35:49 Travis’ SECOND final thought! 36:30 Hope wanted the last word. 14. AMP: When Guys Go Ghost
We’ve all experienced having someone go ghost on us or we’ve been the who’s done the ghosting. Take a listen to how Travis shares a male’s perspective on the idea and reason most guys go ghost. Key Take aways: When someone shows you who they are, believe them. According to Travis, men can be labeled as an intellectual whore or a cuddle b*tch There is no woman that a man will be friends with and won’t potentially have sex with Sometimes he’s just not that into you, romantically. Understand that and move on. Regardless of age, people will continue to play the game of self interest You cannot force chemistry If a man is not where he wants to be financially or career-wise, he will not fully invest himself into a relationship. There’s never a good explanation for a person to go ghost If a guy is into you, he will show it and you will have no doubts Don’t assume a guy will possess the qualities you have or desire Timeline of the show: :20 Introduction of Travis 1:40 Hope shares listener’s submission 5:30 Travis shares his thoughts on the listener’s story 7:35 Travis shares an interesting theory of intellectual whore and cuddle b*tches 10:31 Hope gets Travis back on track 13:10 Travis discusses his story regarding “going ghost” 16:50 Hope shares her story about ghosting 20:03 Technology creates entitlement and anxiety 20:45 Travis and Hope discuss possible reasons guys will go ghost 30:22 Hope attempts to get Travis back on track AGAIN. LOL 32:15 Should the writer have gone on that second date 32:55 Travis drops some gems 33:45 Travis and Hope discuss soul mates 35:30 AGAIN Hope tries to get Travis back on topic. 11. A Male's Perspective: Once A Side Chick pt 2
[bctt tweet="Just be done with the situation completely. " username="hope_in_her"] Key Take aways: Shouldn’t the woman be made aware of what her significant other has done and have the choice of deciding how to take the relationship with all the information available? Jay believes that once the “other woman” learns of the main partner, she should only confront the man then walk away from the situation. Do you agree? Cornell- 2 things will happen when the main girl find out: She will leave, they will work it out. What’s wrong with keeping the girl code? Men, being accountable for your actions is the best route. If you continue to lie, you will make it worst. The consensus of the group was that based on the information provided, this guy was a jerk. Even though women like the letter writer deserves answers, understand that it doesn’t mean women will get the answers. They have to learn to move forward without the explanation, apology, acknowledgment, etc. Do YOUR RESEARCH [bctt tweet="Dating is unpredictable" username="hope_in_her"] Timeline of the show: :25 Last episode recap :52 Is it ever ok for the “side chick” to reach out to the main girl? 1:38 Hope shares her personal story 8:37 Cornell’s idea of a side chick 9:43 The guys have a revelation about “once a side chick.” 10:22 Cornell just let us have it… my poor ears! 12:39 Do you believe the guy really wanted to be with the girl back home 13:52 Break 14:40 How should men hold themselves accountable in side chick situations? 16:54 Do the other woman, who was unknowingly the side chick, deserve an answer 19:18 The guys provide ways for women in this situation to move forward 22:57 Jay’s bottom line 26:00 Hope’s closing message 27:15 Jay always has to have the final word… lol [bctt tweet="If you are not married, stop with the labels and go into new relationships that there could be a possibility that there is someone else." username="hope_in_her"] Have questions, stories, or want to make a comment? 10. A Male's Perspective: Once a Side Chick Part 1
If you haven’t read the listener’s story, click In the first episode of A Males Perspective: Once a Side Chick, the guys provide us with a little bit of insight on the topic. [bctt tweet="Managing multiple women gets old" username="hope_in_her"] Key Takeaways: For Jay’s sake, keep your story short and concise In the case of once a side chick, do you think that sometimes men just get caught up in the euphoria of meeting a new woman, that they can never seem to find the best time to share that they are already in a relationship? Do you believe in a situation like this, the writer simply didn’t do her homework? Do women sometimes put themselves in a “side chick” situation when her idea of dating is different from the guy’s? Communication is important, however, when a man is an upfront with you, accept that and resist the urge to turn it into something more Stop “going with the flow” Ask QUESTIONS! [bctt tweet="There is still a great deal of grown men with teenage-like mentalities." username="hope_in_her"] Timeline of the show: :45 Hope reads a letter submitted by a MLM listener about side chicks 5:50 Meet the guys 6:14 The guys share their thoughts about side chicks 9:11 Do men glorify the idea of side chicks? 16:22 Denzel with the bottom line- Jay, rebuts with his bottom line 17:20 Why do some men choose to put women in “side chick” arrangements unknowingly? 24:00 Do men ever choose the other woman over their initial partners? 31:07 The guys share their “side chick” experiences and what kept them from choosing her to be in a long-term relationship [bctt tweet="There is no side chick if there isn’t a main chick. [bctt tweet="Culturally, no accomplishment of a woman is as celebrated as the moment she decides to attach herself in marriage." username="hope_in_her"] In the 2nd installment of the Celebration of Love Series, LaChanda and I talk about the importance of loving yourself. If you are without a Valentine- don’t fret! You are not alone. Don’t allow yourself to give in to pressure and stress of the holiday. Create a positive outlook and enjoy yourself during this time! Take a listen as LaChanda and I explore some important factors. Connect with LaChanda all month long on IG as she continues her stories about self-love. [bctt tweet="Embrace the power that you have as a woman. –LaChanda" username="hope_in_her"] Key Take Aways: Learn to embrace your singlehood- do not rush this very important growth stage. Don’t allow the concept of “the 1” to make you stay in a toxic relationship We accept disrespect and more because of societal pressures and expectations. We’ve all been there. Be the best example of a healthy single person for your child Why do we always feel as though we will never find a mate? A healthy relationship requires you to be a whole person. A broken or person with unresolved issues cannot contribute to a successful relationship. Understand that a relationship requires sacrifice and honestly assess whether you are willing to make those sacrifices. It’s ok if you are not. Stop shaming single women- some single women are not miserable. Ep. 7: 6 Things We Should Leave In 2016
It’s a new year so it’s time to leave the things that didn’t work in the past! "You can’t address problems until you acknowledge they exist " Key Take a ways: Face the music and learn what’s on your credit report. Do not rely on others to enjoy your life There are lessons to be learned when you change your perspective Stop Looking for validation Motivation is not enough to reach your goals Men should feel so uncomfortable about projecting negative sentiments about women that they question doing it. But, they don’t… That should be a problem for you. Negative people are draining People are intimated by the power and voice of a woman of color. Don’t change who you are because it makes others uncomfortable. Does dating outside of your race add a level of confidence? When can holding ourselves to such high standards become unhealthy? [bctt tweet="Confident people don’t hate on others " username="hope_in_her"] Key Take a ways: Why do we find it so easy to make other women feel bad when they feel good about themselves? Combating Confidence Killers pt 1
If you are overweight or have struggled with your weight like I have then, imagine how rude it would be if a smaller woman was to approach you as you ate and said, "mayyybee... you shouldn't eat that!" How pissed would you be? Well, for people like Nicole, making unsolicited statements such as, "you need to eat (more)!" evokes the same emotion. It's hurtful. "Real women have curves?" We hear that all too often. But, did you know when you make statements like this, you're implying that somehow women without curves are not actually REAL women? These women are sisters, mothers, daughters, and etc. They have the same struggles as their curvier counterparts. As difficult as it may be to find a decent pair of size 16 pants, so is it to find a 00. Please stop insinuating that smaller women "have it easier" or aren't real women because as Nicole stated, "you just may trigger the exact problem they are trying to overcome... an eating disorder." Eating disorder? But, that's a "white girl" issue? To be honest, it's more common in the black community than we think. We, however just tend to suffer in silence about it, like we do with so many other issues we face. It also may look a little bit different. Listen as Nicole and I debunk the myth about eating disorders in the black community as well as other issues that plague a woman of color's confidence. [bctt tweet="We have enough barriers from outside sources. Why do we continue to tear each other down?" username="hope_in_her"] Key Take Aways: Why do we find it so easy to make other women feel bad when they feel good about themselves?
