She’s worked in the sound department on Star Trek, Star Wars, Star Tours at Disneyland and WDW. Amanda’s sound department credits include Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Star Trek Beyond & Into Darkness, Grey’s Anatomy and a ton of other projects. On top of that, she was just #Emmynominated! We caught up with Amanda Beggs at the Cinema Audio Society Awards (CAS Awards) just last year. Amanda discusses the autonomy and creative aspects that come together to keep this Trekkie pushing the envelope (no sound-pun intended) and on top of her game. Dan & Swampy redefined animation for Gen Z via Phineas and Ferb & Milo Murphy’s positivity & ingenuity! With Candace Against the Universe & Disney+ on the way, we’ll talk crossover secrets, timelines, and animation industry changes! Every fan of Phineas and Ferb, Milo Murphy’s Law, Pete the Cat, and animation in general will see something special in this one! We’ll even get into some talk about earlier projects Dan and Swampy worked on, such as The Simpsons and Family Guy! There’s a bit of backstory to why this interview was so important! We can’t even being to tell you how infinitely MeGa-Special this interview is to us! This is the 10 Year Anniversary of our very first interview with Dan Povenmire and Swampy Marsh. Back in February, 2009, 8 year-old Piper Reese, on her 2nd day in LA, made her first trip to the Walt Disney Animations studios to do an interview at Phineas and Ferb’s headquarters in the Frank G. Wells building on the Disney Studios lot. After a smile from Courtney Thorne Smith on the way into the building, Piper was greeted by every single member of the Phineas and Ferb team. She was treated like a visiting princess (everyone there knew her name when she arrived). Dan and Swampy took the time to answer every question, show her all around their studio, and introduce her to every person she walked by. Dan explained the animation process and showed her his earliest sketches for Phineas and Ferb. Swampy showed his his shark-chomped Phineas & Ferb surfboard. They even gave her a tour around the Disney Studios Lot and through the special underground passageway where Walt had animators carry their hand-drawn cells to keep them safe from the elements. In our 12+ year history, it’s still at the top of our list of special days. Every time we’ve seen Dan or Swampy, they’ve taken the time to do an interview or ask how she’s doing. In an Industry that can be rough (to say the least), Dan and Swampy have been two shining examples of great people who love what they do and have constantly reminded us of the good side of the entertainment Industry. At an early age, Piper got a great sense for how the animation side of the Industry can often be a very special and different end of the business. We’ve seen that repeat through the years with others in the animation field, whether we’ve been at Disney Animation, Nickelodeon, or Dreamworks. There’s something different that isn’t always as easy to recognize in the live-action side. So, flash forward to 10 years later. It’s been years since we’ve had a chance to interview Dan and Swampy together (the last one was probably on the red carpet at the Phineas and Ferb Across the 2nd Dimension premiere). With ten years having passed since the first one and the success that Phineas and Ferb went on to, we really wanted to do a new interview and give a little extra focus on Dan and Swampy themselves in addition to getting into details about Phineas and Ferb and Milo Murphy’s Law and Surfer Jack Productions, Swampy’s own production company that is producing an animated version of the Pete the Cat book series on Amazon. For this one, we did an intro on the spot at the studio instead of a separate recording. It’s a STRANGER THINGS interview with Grigori, the Russian bad guy behind an evil plot & played by Andrey Ivchneko! Plus Piper’s Stranger Things Halloween Horror Nights maze walkthrough and reaction! UNIVERSAL STUDIOS: Piper caught up with Andrey at Universal Studios Hollywood’s Halloween Horror Nights for Halloween, 2019! Of course, we had to add in some of the creepy footage from the Stranger Things maze to go along with the interview…and Piper’s reaction to it! Buckle up and watch out for Demogorgons because Grigori’s been working for the Soviet Union building a machine that can open a portal to the upside down! ANDREY IVCHENKO: Andrey’s real-life is even more interesting than Grigori’s! He was born in Kharkov, a city in center of Ukraine. That’s not an easy place to be come an actor! After two years in the Soviet military, Andrey went to college and earned a masters degree in kinesiology, which is basically the scientific study of human movement. (That likely comes in quite useful for the hours Andrey puts in at the gym!) From there, Andrey moved to Europe and then on to Canada, where he gained his citizenship and started acting. Andrey’s now based in LA. He’s been in Falling Skies, Nikita, The Way of the West, Counterpart, xXx: Return of Xander Cage and, of course, Stranger Things. We’re talking CW’s Arrowverse MeGa-Crossover Crisis on Infinite Earths, Tom Welling & Erica Durance from Smallville & our unseen Ashley Scott interview! Yup! Huntress Helena Kyle from Birds of Prey! This is a major HuMoNGoID geeked-out DC Comics episode and we’re getting into everything we know about the guests in Crisis on Infinite Earths to date! We’ll start off with Brandon Routh! Piper was five years old when we took her to see Brandon in Superman Returns at a movie theater in Miami! We would have never thought that after all these years as Ray Palmer / ATOM from DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, Brandon would “return” to his roots as Superman in an Arrowverse crossover! Seriously!? That’s really going all-out! Next, Smallville! OK - Adam here. This one is my all-time favorite show. There were a few of quirks episodes over the ten year run, but overall, the writing, cinematography, and acting were just awesome (especially those discussions between Lex and Lionel Luthor! (We still joke about when Michael Rosenbaum (Lex Luthor) was known as “Sexy Lexy” in the early Smallville days). The Berlanti team has said more than once that without Smallville, there wouldn’t have been an Arrowverse. They’ve payed homage here and there in the past, but now…they’re bringing Tom Welling and Erica Durance, Lois and Clark, back together! We’re going to revisit the Kent Farm and see what they’re up to 10 years later! I’m super-excited about this one. If you like Superman lore and haven’t seen Smallville, you’re seriously missing out! Definitely get a hold of it and start watching! We’re not finished yet! Next, we’re jumping over to an exclusive, unseen interview we did with Ashley Scott, aka The Huntress, Helena Kyle, about her role on Birds of Prey. (YES! She went by “Kyle” in the cult classic series instead of Helen Wayne.) Helena is the daughter of Batman and Batwoman…Bruce Wayne and Selena Kyle! She’s from the bronze storyline (for those comic geeks out there). The new Birds of Prey movie with Margot Robbie involves a different iteration of the Huntress, Helena Bertinelli. Birds of Prey was a cult classic that only got one season! We highly recommend picking up the DVD! It’s got a cartoon mini-serious featuring some of the villainous women of the DC universe! So, there’s a LOT of info in this episode and a super-special and rare interview with a younger Piper! US from Jordan Peele is one of the most amazing movies I’ve seen! We’re getting behind the scenes secrets with Evan Alex and Madison Curry (yup, Adelaide Wilson / Young Red and Jason Wilson / Pluto)! Us is one of those horror movies that transcends the genre because of its ability to create deep thought in the minds of the viewers as well as its elements of classic horror. The film keeps high tension throughout the entire run time as well as allowing for a variety of interpretation and thought-provocation. These two MeGa-AwEsOmE young actors had pivotal roles in the horror movie and they’ve got HUGE personalities on the red carpet. They also are some of the most talented young actors on the big screen. Madison’s love for horror will continue to show through her brilliant work, and Evan’s amazing acting and physicality in the film will help him shine as well! It was incredible to speak with these young actors and get their tips, opinions, and thoughts on the film. Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood is Piper’s favorite event of the year, but this time was ToTaLLy over the top because we have an interview with DAN AKYROYD! We asked about working on #Ghostbusters2020 and The Second City vs. Groundling and bridging comedy and fright! (Watch for the The Second City vs. Groundlings question. The sincerity and admiration Mr. Akyroyd has in his response so heartfelt.) We’ve even got a question about Christmas with the Kranks thrown in! Following the interview, we’ve got a walkthrough of the Ghostbusters Maze at Universal Studios Hollywood! That may have been our favorite one this year! Slimer was all over the place. It’s incredible to see how much detail goes into the mazes! We’d love to do a behind-the-scenes on how the mazes are planned and constructed, but that just might take away from the paranormal magic at the event! #HalloweenHorrorNights is definitely a must-see event where you get to walk the backlots where endless classic movies (and monster movies) were filmed! READY for BH90210!? THIS GenZ girl watched all of Beverly Hills 90210 & 90210 (big 90s TV fan)! I visited the Peach Pit and After Dark this week and I’m pulling out my Jessica Stroup interview for y’all! That’s right! I never got a chance to release my interview with Erin Silver herself back in 2011 (and I hadn’t seen the whole show yet). So, now in 2019, with BH90120 about to launch, I say YES! Jessica Stroup ABSOLUTELY should be on BH90210! She’s SILVER, after all! She’s related to David and Kelly (and of course Mel & Jackie) and Jessica’s character was actually on the original series! We spoke about Jessica’s favorite original cast members (which, of course, includes Jennie Garth), the Love Is Louder event she was hosting that night, and some info about how Erin Silver ties the two shows together!
