In Part 2, Jaye discusses the history of voting rights in the United States based on sex from the founding until the immediate aftermath of the 19th Amendment, which prohibited the government from restricting women from the ballot box. The woman suffrage movement in the United States, as the defining issue in first wave feminism, was that of both diversity and internal conflict.
