Arizona Black Rodeo is Riding into Town
This Labor Day Weekend, Scottsdale is trading palm trees for cowboy hats as the Arizona Invitational Black Rodeo rides into town on August 29th and 30th. This isn’t your ordinary rodeo—it’s two days packed with bull riding, barrel racing, roping events, mutton bustin’, and a whole lot of grit, grit, and more grit. But beyond the excitement in the arena, this event also shines a spotlight on the history and contributions of Black cowboys and cowgirls, making it a celebration that’s as educational as it is entertaining. Joining me today is Lanette Campbell, the driving force behind the event, to talk about what makes this rodeo such a unique experience for Scottsdale and the Southwest.

From January 20, 2025: Car enthusiasts are taking over the Valley this week with AZ Car Week and Barett-Jackson. But one local company is taking the car lovers' experience to the next level with AI. Isaac Bunick has loved cars since a young age. Buying, selling, tinkering and upgrading them all. After starting many successful tech companies, Issac, or The Wise Owl to many, moved to Scottsdale in 2022 needing a new adventure. As he was working on his cars in the garage, his daughter, Mia would come outside to “help” Being the girly that she is, she asked her dad to make the car pink. That’s when the light bulb went off for Issac, I wondered what the car would be like pink, or with a different body style. Maybe different shocks, lights etc. Born was MotorMia, an AI generator for car enthusiasts to show them what their dream car could look like.
