A moment of NURTURE is lined by SANCTUARY
A SLM conversation with Renee King-Sonnen (Her vegan transformation from cattle rancher to cattle sanctuary) Renee King-Sonnen is on a mission to restore harmony and balance between us, animals, and our planet. This mission started with Rowdy Girl, an abandoned calf on her husband’s Texan cattle ranch. Her husband asked her to help nurture and mother Rowdy Girl. And, this changed everything; it was the start of a new way of seeing animals, a new diet, and a new life mission. Renee went on to become a vegan, to co-found Rowdy Girl Sanctuary, and work with the Rancher Advocacy Program. Rowdy Girl Sanctuary (RGS) provides sanctuary to farm animals at risk of being slaughtered and promotes an ethical vegan lifestyle. RGS seeks to educate the public on plant based food options, FFA/4H, factory farming practices, and the devastating impact of animal agriculture on the environment. Learn more about RGS at @45:00 mark of this epsiode and at its website: The Ranchere Advocacy Program (RAP) "...advocaes for the farmer, families, their land, and the planet." They help farmers and ranchers transition out of animal agriculture to othr ways of using their land in ways that sustains themselves, their families, their land, and the environment. Learn more about RAP at @50:00 mark of this episode and at its website: In this episode, Renee shares her vegan journey and advocacy with us. We discuss: how Rowdy Girl opened her heart and transformed her world, how a story about beef stew stopped her from eating meat ever again, seeing animals as sentient beings with awareness, feelings and understanding & seeing the world through their eyes, anger & judgment and how these two often go hand and hand, how when we become committed to a cause or an ideal, we may first experience anger at others who do not share the same cause or ideal, how she went through the anger and judgment she felt when she first became an ethical vegan and getting to place of compassion for all - animals AND humans - meat eaters and vegans alike, choosing love over fear, creating organic and lasting change through love and compassion, how what we are doing to animals, we are doing to ourselves, her mission and work with Rowdy Girl Sanctuary and the Rancher Advocacy Program, and her Silver Lining Moment: a piece of advice that stopped her from seeing her husband as a murderer for eating meat to the amazing and loving husband that he is. Listen to this SLM story @1:09 mark and the lesson about perspective that followed. When I recorded the introduction for this episode, I named it "a moment of NURTURE is lined by TRANSFORMATION". As I started to type that title here, a sanctuary popped in instead of transformation. From her nurturing of Rowdy Girl, Renee went on to create a sanctuary for other animals. In the process, she is also creating a sanctuary for herself, for others, and for our shared planet. Listen to our conversation and discover how a moment of NURTURE is lined by SANCTUARY. Thank you for listening to Silver Lining Moments. A moment of SEARCHING FOR ANSWERS is lined by TRUSTING IN SELF
A SLM conversation with Jennifer Brown (finding joy again) If you experienced times where you just didn’t feel joy in your life? You’re not alone. In the past few years, our guest Jennifer Brown has experienced cancer, losing her job, and, like all of us, the pandemic. Somewhere along the way, she lost joy. She couldn’t feel it. And, she did not know how to have fun anymore. She found herself searching for answers to questions like – What am I doing with my life? Being middle aged, gave a little sense of urgency in her thinking - I need to figure this out now! So, when she lost her job, she saw it as an opportunity – as time to do something that she has been dreaming about for a long time – taking a RV road trip. In this SLM conversation with Jennifer, we discuss: The feeling like you lost joy in your life and wanting it back Her RV road trip – her physical journey across the US and her soulful journey to herself The moments of awe, connectedness, and discovery that she experienced How she learned to trust in herself again A SILVER LINING MOMENT in her life and, more! SLM Short-ish 9: A SILVER LINING MOMENT in PROCESS & FRIENDSHIP
09/04/2022
SLM Short-ish 9: A SILVER LINING MOMENT in PROCESS & FRIENDSHIP
A moment of PSORIASIS & FRUSTRATION is lined by PROCESS & FRIENDSHIP. Silver Lining Moments are every where, in each moment, even in a moment of psoriasis (chronic condition) & frustration! In this SLM short, I talk about how a psoriasis flare-up has me feeling frustrated and angry filled with resentment and fear! These feelings may start with the psoriasis, but once I feel them, they spread to other areas of my life. Once the frustration feelings take hold, they create a filter through which I see everything that casts a shadow over all aspects of my life. The more I focus on my frustration, the more frustrated I feel about more things. This, albiet in inverse, is the core of Silver Lining Moments. The more we focus on something, the more it expands, grows, intensifies. Silver Lining Moments ia about focusing on the good so that the good expands. So, let’s focus on the good. Let's be real. It’s hard to focus on the good, when I am feeling frustrated and stuck. Silver Lining Moments is NOT about pretending to the see the light shine when you feel you are standing under the clouds. That's make believe. Actually seeing the light shine in that whole mind, body, heart, and soul kind of way requires something else: Feel the feelings fully. Acknowledge them. Release them. To see the SILVER LININGS in this MOMENT of psoriasis and frustration, I fully felt and acknowledged my feelings about my psoriasis and explored about why I felt them and if there were other feelings lurking beneath them. For me, I discovered that underneath the frustration were fear and resentment. Basically, for part of this SLM Short, I vented. I let it all out. And, I give you time to vent, rant, and let your frustrations, anger, fears, etc. out. After doing this, I can see the SILVER LININGS in this moment. In fact, I saw two: First, this moment of psoriasis and frustrative gives me an opportunity to test my process and self-care tools; to walk the talk so to speak. Realizing this reminded me of the times when my process pulled me through other dark moments. My process/self-care tools: journaling (writing my SLMs), meditating, physical movement - exercise/dance, positive affirmations ,and support. Just thinking of these previous times replaced some of that frustration and fear with gratitude and trust. Just as my process worked in the past, it will work now. PROCESS is a SILVER LINING MOMENT. Second, this moment showed me how I am supported. In this past week, I had a few phone calls with different friends. Each one gave me space to vent. They did not judge me; and they did not minimize my feelings. Each one also reminded me of the light in myself, in my successes, and in the progress I have made. At a time when frustration, anger, fear, resentment blinded me , they shone light on me for me. Their FRIENDSHIP is a SILVER LINING MOMENT. WHAT'S YOUR SILVER LINING MOMENT? a moment of MOTHERHOOD is lined by DREAMS
A moment of MOTHERHOOD is lined by Dreams A SLM conversation with Bonnie Silvestri Bonnie taught women in law classes that discussed legal issues around motherhood and families including topics like pregnancy and families in the workplace. When she became pregnant herself, these were no longer abstract issues in case books. They were personal. She realized that the whole "work life balance thing” was not so easily managed. She began to look at family leave policies around the world – in particular, she looked at countries that provided paid family leave like England versus unpaid family leave in the United States. She questioned – was paid family leave as good as she imagined. She and her husband had an idea on how to answer this question. They moved to England for 6 months where they filmed their documentary Funnel of Dreams, which is described on its website as: "A Florida family goes on a quest to understand the impact of the United Kingdom’s policies for families, including paid parental leave, childcare services, and the children’s right to play. Journey with them to a small town in Wales as they navigate parenting their imaginative young daughter in a new culture." To learn more about Funnel of Dreams, In this SLM conversation with Bonnie, we discuss: Her journey into motherhood and how this inspired her to take a closer look at family leave policies around the world Funnel of Dreams – the idea behind it, the naming of it, what it taught them about family leave policies and their effect on mothers, fathers, children, and the community Paid family leave and unpaid family leave Why discussing family leave is important, even more so after the recent U.S. Supreme Court Dobbs decision and the changing abortion laws in many states Having an idea, following through with it, and seeing it realized From my conversation with Bonnie, I see how: a moment of MOTHERHOOD is lined by DREAMS. Thank you for listening to Silver Lining Moments. SLM Short 8: A SILVER LINING MOMENT in your inbox and messages
Silver Lining Moments are every where, in each moment, even in your inbox and messages. Last week, I received a few "just messages". The messages that have "just" somewhere in them, such as "I am writing just because I am thinking of you" or "I just wanted to let you know that you are important to me/that you are doing a good job/that I appreciate your friendship." Often, these messages are short in words but big in their positive impact. These just messages are a ray of sunshine in my inbox that brighten my day and shine a light through the years in my heart. When I asked for a sign that Silver Lining Moments is a worthwhile focus of good in the world, I saw this "sign"; it's in the form of a SILVER-LINED bath tub in a storefront showcase. Just like the light behind the cloud, a SILVER LINING MOMENT is always there - reminding us of the light in ourselves, in our conversations, in each other, and in each MOMENT. SLMs are everywhere, in each moment. This one is in the movie 13 Lives, which is about the real-life cave rescue of 12 boys and their soccer coach. They were trapped in the cave for 17 days. Some 10,000 people—including 2,000 soldiers, 200 divers and volunteers from around the world helped in their rescue. After watching this movie, I was in awe of how amazing people can be! Director Ron Howard said it best: “It’s a very contemporary theme that we need to remind ourselves of, and that is how powerful we can all be internationally or on a community level when we pull together.” And, that is why 13 LIVES is a SILVER LINING MOMENT. A moment of SHARING is lined by UNITY
A SLM conversaion with eLayne Kelley - artist, author, tribe builder A sharing of wisdom gained from life's journeys and a path to profound life changes made possible when we wake up to punishing thoughts After my conversation with eLayne Kelley, I thought she, her vision for life, and her mission in life are gifts for humanity. As I thought this, I imagined hearing her acknowledging this with a soft boldness and adding something like “well, yes; each of us, you, me, everyone listening to this SLM podcast, each and every person everywhere -- we all are a gift to humanity, in our own soulful way; and in our soulfulness is where together, we are humanity.” At the beginning of our conversation, eLayne Kelley casually refers to that time when she accidentally drove off a 20-foot cliff, as if it was an everyday experience, we all have. As she continued, it became clear that but for a series of serendipitous factors, she would have died that night. Luckily and thankfully, she didn’t. This was pivotal moment for her that shaped her life’s journey, vision, and mission. After that pivotal “driving off a 20-foot cliff” moment, eLayne began a spiritual and intellectual quest crisscrossing the United States in search of answers to some of life’s biggest questions: “Who am I” “What happens after death” “What is my life’s purpose” In our conversation, we discussed: Serendipitous moments and factors that save and shape our lives Her cross-country journey – a physical and spiritual journey – and the wisdom that followed Transpersonal Counseling Psychology, Jungian dream work, and ancient symbols Having a daily meditation practice The re-awakening of her soul The difference between art for process and art for product The many “hats” she has worn and wears: artist, art gallery owner, author, and a Disaster Mental Health Coordinator Her personal struggle over, and growth from, her son’s addiction journey How we are wired with a negative bias Awakening to our punishing thoughts and letting go Learning that thinking that good things could happen is just as easy as thinking that bad things could happen Choosing good thoughts Her answers to those big questions and how she got her answers Her mission and vision for life Roadmap to Ease - The Journey to Your Awakened Life, her first teaching memoir, (to be released Nov. 1, 2022), in which she shares her wisdom, tools and a roadmap for others to illuminate their soul's path to ease and awakening eLayne Kelly now resides on the Guld Coast of Florida where, as she describes, “the gulf breezes, big water, and endless sky fuel the youth of [her] wisdom years”. In our conversation, we didn’t talk directly about politics or societal issues or about division and conflict. However, after our conversation, I kept coming back to these thoughts: We are different. When we share our differences, there is a unifying thread – our shared soul of humanity. There are many times in this conversation, where I caught myself shaking my head with understanding and thinking “I didn’t have that experience, but I had times where I felt like this…. I get this; I get you.” Listen to this conversation with eLayne Kelle and experience: a moment of SHARING lined by UNITY Thank you to eLayne and to you, listeners. A SLM Short: When it feels like the world is falling apart
Today, I am launching a sub-series to Silver Lining Moments podcasts. Each week, I will be publishing a short Silver Lining Moment. However, with all that is going on in the world, I felt low in energy with a heaviness of heart. Where -- or how - is a Silver Lining in any of these tragedies - shootings, war, conflict, natural disasters? Each week seems to bring a new tragedy, upheaval, and uncertainty. In all honestly, I have moments where I feel like the fabric of society is unraveling and the world is falling apart. I haven't been seeing or feeling a Silver LIning Moment in any of it. So, instead of launching this series with a SLM short, I am launching it with an honest discussion about how to see the light when it feels we are surrounded in darkness. And, I affirm my trust that the light it is always there and my practice that helps me see it ---when I am not feeling it. At the end, I was able to find a Silver Lining Moment after all!

A moment of LOVE is lined by KINDNESS
A moment of LOVE is lined by KINDNESS In this episode, I am doing something a little different. I am sharing a loving kindness meditation that I did with friends from around the world to expand love and kindness throughout the world. For World Kindness Day in November of 2021, I invited 9 friends from the around world to join me in Zoom for a Loving Kindness Mediation. With this meditation, we are filling ourselves with love and kindness and extending love and kindness to the world. Join in this meditation and feel the love and kindness fill your heart and soul. When you are loved, how do you feel? When you love someone else, how do you feel? Sit with these feelings. When you are filled with love and kindness, imagine your love and kindness expanding to others. Now, imagine people all over the world sitting doing this meditation and sending love and kindness into the world. See your love and kindness meet with theirs. From this place, our collective humanity is pretty cool, isn't it?! You can also check out this guided meditation on YouTube at . Beautiful photos of nature accompany the YouTube version. A big heartfelt thank you to Donna Harmony Jones for providing the photographs for this meditation. She captures the beauty in nature that foster a loving and kind energy for this mediation. To see more of Donna's photographs, check out Donna's website here: I would love it if you let me know what you think and feel about this meditation. I have ideas for more meditations with Silver Lining Moments and would love to hear what you think. You can email me at: During today, may you be happy and healthy; may you be free from suffering, may you be free from negativity, drama and conflict. During today, may you be immersed in peace, prosperity, positive energy, love and kindness. During today, you you give and receive genuine acts of love and kindness. With this meditation, I realized how we expand love and light, one person at a time one meditation at a time one Silver Lining Moment at a time.

A moment of LOSS is lined by EMPOWERMENT
12/29/2021
A moment of LOSS is lined by EMPOWERMENT
A moment of LOSS is lined by EMPOWERMENT “How can she be so happy and positive after all she’s been through?” This is what Dr. Alisa Whyte’s mom asked the nurse when Alisa was lying in a hospital bed having lost life-threatening amounts of blood and facing the loss of her uterus. These are just some of the traumatic losses she experienced. LOSS: In her childhood, domestic violence by her father damaged tissues in her brain. While recovered now, for a year she experienced the loss of her memory, her ability to speak, and her ability to move freely by herself . LOSS: As an adult, she experienced infertility and miscarriages. She lost her unborn babies. Then, with losing her uterus this past year, she lost the possibility of ever giving birth to her own children. LOSS: She lost her marriage to divorce. At one point, she explained that “my soul was so tired” and how she felt frustrated with having done everything “they” said to do to be a happy and successful adult yet feeling stuck in loss. This conversation is not about being stuck in loss. Alisa did not stay stuck. THIS SLM CONVERSATION IS ABOUT LETTING GO, FINDING PEACE, LIVING YOUR PURPOSE Dr. Alisa Whyte shares her own experiences of trauma and loss and her healing through these losses. She has been in the trenches of grief and anger and she shares her path to peace and joy. With tools grounded in self-awareness and gratitude, she deals with the tremendous life challenges that we all face from time to time while still living with purpose and with peace. She now empowers others to do the same and to live with fulfillment, purpose, and joy.* Ambassador , Prof. Dr. Alisa Whyte is the dynamic, trailblazing Founder, President, and CEO of Fulfillment Empowerment Network, the Vice President of Save the Girl Child Advocacy, Africa. and the Accreditation Director for Europe, M.E.N.A and Asia at International Internship University (IIU). Alisa is a Transformational Leadership and Master Mindset Coach, an International Speaker and trainer, certified by the John Maxwell Team. Additionally, Alisa is an ambassador of peace for humanity and a global professor of humanities, leadership, and management at International Internship university. She has received many awards for the positive impact she is making around the world including: the global woman of choice award for peak performance in business and leadership, businesswoman of the year 2021, and A RED BLAZER OF EXCELLENCE AND ACHIEVEMENT Global Award. She is a #1 International Best-Selling author for her collaborative work with the book I AM - How to Release the Shame of Narcissistic Abuse & Transform Financial Poverty to Wealth Beyond Numbers. IN THIS CONVERSATION, WE DISCUSS: The losses she has endured Losing babies through miscarriages How one of the most common questions asked at any and every networking function or event strikes daggers of pain into the heart of a woman who has miscarried and never had children How the “just get over it” culture is not healing, keeps you stuck in pain, and robs you of the joys of life Her passion about compassionate servant leadership and helping individuals live authentically in their purpose Her personal mission to help individuals overcome self-limiting beliefs, discover their purpose, improve their relationships, and lead a life of fulfillment Asking ourselves “how do I want to make the world a better place?” Not letting the roles we play or the titles we have define who we are How each of us is a gift for the world Her work with Save the Girl-Child Advocacy and other special projects the personal development “work” she has done on her path of healing and fulfillment including P3 (Purpose Passion Peace) retreats, which is where we met Her Silver Lining Moment from the “angels” of P3 that turned her heart from hopeless to hopeful, which remains a part of her today. During our conversation, I felt connected. In her losses, I felt loss. In her healing, I felt healing. I deeply understood that, although going through a loss can feel extremely lonely, we are not alone. And, as she experienced her message of self-awareness, authenticity, gratitude, and resilience, I was empowered on my own path of purpose and fulfillment. From my conversation with Dr. Alisa Whyte, I discover how: A moment of LOSS is lined by EMPOWERMENT. Thank you to Alisa and to you, listeners. A moment of HATE is lined by HEALING

A moment of HATE is lined by HEALING
A moment of HATE is lined by HEALING A SLM conversation with Arlene Kline Silver Lining Moments: a space for conversations, feelings, and ideas that expand love and light “Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.” Martin Luther King, Jr. I have read this quote many times. I believe its truth. It’s one thing to read these words and agree with them; it’s another to live by these words. The first part is easy; the second part, not so much. How we do we live these words…especially when hate is being targeted at us? Even with my 100% certainty in the truth of these words, my first reaction is often to fight back. Perhaps that is what drew me to litigation and what kept me there for so many years, even when I felt it wasn’t quite the right path for me. My desire to take these words from aspirational affirmation to daily action has been part of my personal journey. When I see someone living these words, I seek them out and ask them how. This brings me to the guest of this SLM episode, Arlene Kline. Arlene and her family have personally been on the receiving end of antisemitic hate speech. Her response against this hatred is to educate others about it and to empower others to stand against it. Her efforts are not grounded in hate for the spreaders of antisemitism but in justice and equality underlined by a love for all humanity. She volunteers with the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), an anti-hate group that works to secure justice and fair treatment for all. In this episode, Arlene and I discuss: What it is like to be the recipient of hate speech The horrible feeling when your child is a recipient of hate speech Responding to hate with hate is driven by feelings of helplessness and fear Education and empowerment can transform helpless and fear into love in action Her work with, and the mission of, the ADL The importance of filling yourself up with self-love Each instance of hate is an opportunity to live these words of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Each time we live these words through our thoughts and our actions, our feelings will follow; healing happens. Each time, hate weakens and love strengthens. As you listen to this conversation, I hope that any hate directed at your or residing in your heart is healed with love. From my conversation with Arlene, I realize how: a moment of HATE is lined by HEALING. Thank you for listening to Silver Lining Moments. By Arlene sharing and by you listening, together we are: expanding love and light, one person at a time, one story at a time, one Silver Lining Moment at a time.

A moment of FEELING LOST is lined by NATURE
A moment of FEELING LOST is lined by NATURE A SLM conversation with Bart Scholtissen Silver Lining Moments: a space for conversations, feelings, and ideas that expand love and light In the episode, Bart Scholtissen shares his journey back to himself from a place focused on pleasing others. We discuss times in which we felt alone, disconnected from ourselves and others, and stuck but afraid of moving forward. I am guessing that many can resonate with these feelings this year. Bart has a Ph.D. in neuroscience. After dedicating years to his education in earning his Ph.D. (no small task) and then working in academia, he got to a point where was unhappy and lost in life. He asked for help. He worked with a coach. He went out in nature. He connected with nature, himself, and with others. And, now he coaches others outside in nature. Here are some discussion points in our conversation: Being your best self for others may not be the best for yourself Going from feeling “I am not good enough” to asking “maybe I am worthy enough?” is a positive, momentum-building, leap Being vulnerable enough to ask for help also means you are courageous enough to grow Although you need to do stuff by yourself, you are not alone The more we are in the present moment, the less stress we feel “How am I feeling now?” Human connection is vital. Connection to ourselves is vital. Connection to nature helps us connect with ourselves, which helps us connect with others. As you listen to this conversation, I hope that you get a true sense that you are not alone. We are together in this moment. From my conversation with Bart, I realize how: a moment of FEELING LOST is lined by NATURE. Thank you for listening to Silver Lining Moments. By Bart sharing and by you listening, together we are: expanding love and light, one person at a time, one story at a time, one Silver Lining Moment at a time.

A moment of ART is lined by HAVING A VOICE
A SLM conversation with Wijitra Tretrakul “Tra” Silver Lining Moments: a space for conversations, thoughts, and ideas that expand love and light Sometimes, we just need to be heard. By listening to someone, without judgment or distraction, you are telling them, very clearly and very powerfully, that they matter. And, sometimes, that is all that is needed for transformational change. Tra is a person who after you speak with you are filled with positive energy. She uses art therapy to help people connect with their self-love and self-worth. When someone connects with these, they find their voice and speak their truth in their words and through their actions. In this conversation, Tra and I discuss: When you listen to someone without judgment, you are telling them that they are important and that they matter. Letting someone know they matter is a gift of empowerment that can be a catalysis for transformation. The story of a woman in a Thai prison who went from feeling not worthy speaking up to leading a Bible study group. The wisdom inside each of us. Sometimes people just need a nudge to discover (or re-connect with) their self-love and self-worth. How one small act can start a domino effect of great change. In every moment, we are empowered by, and responsible for, our choices. My hope for you as you listen to this episode is that you are empowered by your own voice, that you feel heard, and that you know that you matter. By simply listening to this episode, you matter to me. Imagine how many other ways you matter, each and every day. Yes, you are amazing. Feel it. Believe it. Own it. As for me, from my conversation with Tra, I discover how a moment of ART is lined by HAVING A VOICE. Thank you for listening to Silver Lining Moments. By Tra sharing and by you listening, together we are: expanding love and light, one person at a time, one story at a time, one Silver Lining Moment at a time.

A moment of UPHEAVAL and UNREST is lined by CHANGE and GROWTH
A SLM Special Edition: Bonus Conversation with Henry Yampolsky Silver Lining Moments a space for conversations, thoughts, and ideas that expand love and light We are in a pivotal moment. The killings of Ahmaud Arbery, George Floyd and the many before them, the peaceful protests, the riots, the looting, the different positions bombarding us by our leaders, pundits, and the media, and all the reactions touted on social media have forced us to look at our world and ourselves. Yes, we are in a pivotal moment; we are in a moment of change. And, like most moments of change, conflict lurks around. How can we peacefully work through the conflict to create meaningful and systemic social change? How can we maintain our health – mental, emotional and physical - in the process? With these in mind, I called upon SLM guest, Henry Yampolsky, who works in peace building and conflict resolution for some insight. In this conversation, Henry shares 4 key components for creating meaningful, systemic and sustainable change: Inclusivity Inner Work Expansion Exploration My hope for you as you listen to this episode is that any overwhelm and hopelessness that you may have been feeling are replaced with grounding and hope. If we each do our respective inner work, we can expand our thoughts, explore possibilities, and create sustainable solutions that include everyone. In this moment of change, we can make a positive impact. As for me, from my conversation with Henry, I realize how: a moment of UPHEAVAL and UNREST is lined by CHANGE and GROWTH. Thank you for listening to Silver Lining Moments. By Henry sharing and by you listening, together we are: expanding love and light, one person at a time, one story at a time, one Silver Lining Moment at a time.

A moment of MOTORCYCLE RIDING is lined by PEACE BUILDING
Silver Lining Moments: a space for conversations, thoughts, and ideas that expand love and light Ukrainian refugee, lawyer, motorcycle adventurer, yogi, and peace builder are some labels that describe SLM guest Henry Yampolsky. Underneath (or is it within) each label is an authentic individual committed to inner healing and collective peace. I found our conversation insightful and practical. And, for a moment, even in the midst of all the uncertainty swirling around in our world, I felt grounded and calm. In this conversation, Henry and I discuss: Conflict: it is not a negative thing; it is a human thing Daily meditation: from a practice to an experience to a state of being Thinking about living life versus living life Covid-19 and how it reminded the entire world at once about the frailty of life Fear’s power over us - up to the point when we acknowledge it We are so busy searching for our purpose that we overlook that our purpose is to simply live Replacing “I know” with “I am open” How looking for a hobby led to a motorcycle journey along the highest pass in the Himalayas to a new life path of peace building My hope for you as you listen to this episode is that you feel peace within yourself and for your community, and the world. As we are all facing a changing and uncertain world, together may we build peace in our homes, our neighborhoods, our cities, our nations, our world. As for me, from my conversation with Henry, I realize how: a moment of MOTORCYCLE RIDING is lined by PEACE BUILDING. Thank you for listening to Silver Lining Moments. By Henry sharing and by you listening, together we are: expanding love and light, one person at a time, one story at a time, one Silver Lining Moment at a time.

A moment of HEALING is lined by ENERGY
A moment of HEALING is lined by ENERGY A SLM conversation with Hass Sadeghi Energy – something that we cannot see, touch, smell, or taste. But, boy, can we feel it! Walk into a room, you feel its energy. A loved one's scornful look tears you down. A child’s laughter uplifts your soul. No words are said but energy is exchanged. It is all around us and within us; it fuels our lives. How can we create and sustain the energy that we want in our lives? My guest this episode is Hass Sadeghi. He answers this question as we discuss energy. In this SLM episode, we discuss: How moving an inch at the energetic level moves a mile at the physical level How we can create and sculpt our consciousness The two-year period in which life seemed to be knocking Hass down: he was in 2 car accidents; his brother died; his parents were in a car accident; his relationship ended; he was physically ill – and how being knocked down created a PAUSE so he could RESET his life; Being sensitive to our sensitivities The expanding impact of our energy and how it starts from self-love and self-care Listen to my conversation with Hass and discover how: a moment of HEALING is lined by ENERGY. Thank you for listening to Silver Lining Moments. By Hass sharing and by you listening, together we are: expanding love and light, one person at a time, one story at a time, one Silver Lining Moment at a time.

A moment of CHANGE is lined by CLARITY
Silver Lining Moments: a space for conversations, thoughts, and ideas that expand love and light In 2010, Courtney had a good job with friendly colleagues and a stable income. Yet, her inner voice told her she needed a change. She listened. In embracing change, she quit her job, traveled, and volunteered. Courtney describes these moments as “course-corrections” for her life. She found clarity for her purpose and passion. In so doing, she has and continues to make positive changes in her personal life, her professional life, and in an entire industry. She is a leader of sustainability in the event planning industry. In this conversation, Courtney and I discuss: The course-correction moments in her life – traveling, volunteering, and listening to her inner self How one moment or experience has a ripple effect on our lives How finding and living your purpose and passion can develop over time, over experiences, and over moments Sustainability in the event planning industry Ways that businesses and entire industries can operate sustainability Community and helping one another Embracing change My hope for you as you listen to this episode is that you feel connected to yourself, to your community, and the world. And, as we are all facing a changing world together with COVID-19, may we all have clarity as to how we want our present and future lives – as individuals, as friends and families, as communities, as countries, as one world – to be. As for me, from my conversation with Courtney, I realize how: a moment of CHANGE is lined by CLARITY. Thank you for listening to Silver Lining Moments. By Courtney sharing and by you listening, together we are: expanding love and light, one person at a time, one story at a time, one Silver Lining Moment at a time.

A moment of DOING NOTHING is lined by FULLY BEING
A SLM conversation with Katie Ravindranath Silver Lining Moments: a space for conversations, thoughts, and ideas that expand love and light A traveler to many lands, Katie’s most meaningful journey has been one to her own personal growth. This episode starts and ends with Katie’s passion for creating more holistic education systems. For me, the conversation naturally coming around full circle shows how when we heal old traumas and give self-love to ourselves, we can overflow with love in our hearts and our thoughts toward others. To go full circle and get to this conclusion, a LOT was discussed in between. Katie shares: The moment when she realized that she wanted to “stop spewing chaos” in the world, How, as a child, she went from being bullied to one who bullied, Her journey as an adult back home to heal some childhood trauma, Her experiences volunteering at Mother Teresa’s Missionaries of Charity that led her to question her own kindness and forced her to a place of letting go, surrendering, and finding clarity Tools, practices, and counseling that helped her work through depression and anxiety, Being a wife and new Mom, living in rural India, and enjoying the simple joy in life. All this led Katie to place where she is at peace just being herself, where she enjoys the simple things in everyday life, and where she is okay “being nobody, going nowhere”. And, from this, I realize how: a moment of DOING NOTHING is lined by FULLY BEING Thank you for listening to Silver Lining Moments. By Katie sharing and by you listening, together we are: expanding love and light, one person at a time, one story at a time, one Silver Lining Moment at a time.
