Here are the 3 lazy girl–approved ways to stay consistent on Facebook in less than 5 minutes a day—plus a bonus hack that might just blow your mind. 1. Reshare a High-Performing Post to Stories One of the easiest things you can do each day? Head to your most popular recent post and hit “Share to Story.” That’s it. Facebook Stories are a great way to keep your name top of mind, and by resharing what’s already working, you don’t have to reinvent the wheel. This is your minimum viable effort strategy—and it counts. 2. Use Facebook’s Automatic Invite Feature Inside your professional dashboard, there’s an option to invite people who’ve interacted with your content to like your page. It’s a built-in growth feature that takes less than 10 seconds. Just tap it. Let Facebook do the rest. No more worrying about spamming people or over-inviting. If you took some time off this summer — whether it was intentional or just happened while life got busy — you’re not alone. Reentry can be tough, but this episode will help you hit the ground running without burning out. Here are five fresh, feel-good ways to ease back into your business after a break. 1. Time Block Your Week (And Your Next Break!) One of the easiest ways to feel in control of your business again is by deciding ahead of time when you’ll work. Not just the day — but the specific hours. Choose time blocks that are non-negotiable, distraction-free, and easy to stick to. Then do something fun: plan your next break! Whether it’s a weekend getaway or an afternoon off, putting something on the calendar to look forward to makes a huge difference in staying motivated. 2. Change Up Your Workspace Sometimes the best way to spark new energy is to move your desk, buy a cute new candle, or even just grab a new notebook. Freshening up your space helps you mentally reset and signals your brain that it’s time for a new season. Even small changes can breathe big energy into your workday. 3. Evaluate Your Plan Before You Dive In Instead of jumping into that big idea that came to you while sipping beachside margaritas, start small. Make a list of the familiar things that actually move the needle in your business and plug those into your time blocks first. Then, take that dreamy big idea and break it into baby steps you can start adding in without overwhelm. Focus on the platforms you’re most excited to work on, and use that excitement as fuel. 4. Stack Your Habits (Personal + Business) James Clear calls it habit stacking — and it’s brilliant. Attach a small personal goal to your work block. 5 Reasons Facebook Isn’t Sending Traffic to Your Blog (And How to Fix It)
f you’ve been showing up on Facebook but your blog traffic isn’t budging, you’re not alone. This week on the Creatives on Fire podcast, I’m sharing the top five reasons Facebook may not be sending your blog the love it deserves—and what you can do about it right now. Let’s stop posting and praying—and start showing up with purpose. 1. You’re Not Posting with a Plan You can't wing it anymore, friend. Gone are the days of tossing up a random post and hoping it sticks. Here’s what works: Theme your week: Stick to one core topic (your zinnia garden, sourdough recipes, Halloween decor—you name it). Post at peak times: Morning, midday, and evening are good starting points. Use a mix of content: Images, text, video, polls—variety keeps people (and the algorithm) engaged. Be consistent: 3 posts/day for pages under 50k followers; 5+ for bigger pages. 💡 Need help staying consistent? Facebook Fuel has you covered with plug-and-play templates every single week. 2. You’re Stuck in a Content Rut If you're only posting one type of content (especially just static images or links), you're likely being overlooked. Add variety and movement: Try face-to-camera videos (growth explodes with this!) Use a montage of blog images set to music Share behind-the-scenes clips or take followers with you (even if it’s just to your kitchen) Video content doesn't need to be fancy—it just needs to be real. And remember: what’s in it for them? 3. You’re Not Repurposing Your Blog Content Stop working so hard to create content... and then only using it once. Do this instead: Share your blog post in multiple ways the same week: video, image, text post, quote, story Reshare it again in 90 days (especially if it’s evergreen) Pull pieces from the post and stretch them across your feed and stories You’re probably sitting on gold you haven’t even dusted off yet. 4. You’re Linking the Wrong Way Facebook doesn’t love outbound links, and it definitely doesn't want you dropping them in your caption. Try this instead: Use the first comment for your link Or ask people to comment a keyword (like “link” or “blog”) so you can reply with the link manually or via automation On video? Say the keyword out loud and tell them where to go Small changes in how you share your blog links can lead to big jumps in visibility. 5. You’re Not Collecting Emails Consistently If you’re not asking for emails every single week, you’re leaving money and traffic on the table. How to fix it: Keep a featured post pinned with a freebie or email CTA Post a weekly opt-in reminder using a keyword (mine is “NEW”) Always link to a simple landing page or link-in-bio page with your email opt-in front and center Let your content work overtime by getting people on your list where you own the connection. Final Thoughts Here’s the deal. Facebook still works. It just takes more intention than it used to. Stop posting and praying—post with a plan Repurpose everything—make your content work harder Prioritize video, variety, and value Ask yourself weekly: what would make this more shareable? Because if your Facebook isn’t converting or growing your audience like it used to, these four smart tweaks just might be the facelift it needs. 4 Smart Fixes to Boost Engagement These aren’t complicated or tech-heavy changes. They’re simple, intentional updates you can make today to boost engagement, grow your audience, and build trust—without burning out. 1. Fix Your Facebook Page Name (Yes, Really) Did you know your Facebook page actually has two names? One is the public-facing title (think: “Melanie Ferguson DIY Home Decorating”), and the other is your @handle (mine’s @southerncrushathome). Here’s why this matters: Your title should be keyword-rich so that when someone types “DIY home decor” in the Facebook search bar, your page comes up. Your handle should ideally match across platforms (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube) to keep your brand cohesive and easier to find. This one small change could make a big impact—just remember, Facebook only lets you change your page name every 60 days, so choose wisely. 2. Update That Profile Picture It might feel easier to use a logo or an avatar (guilty!), but if you are the brand, then your face should be front and center. A clear, smiling photo of YOU builds: Trust Connection Confidence in your brand In today’s AI-heavy world, showing up as your real, beautiful self is one of the best things you can do to stand out and build credibility. 3. Use Your Cover Photo Like a Lead Magnet Did you know your Facebook cover image can include a clickable description? Most people don’t take advantage of this—but you should. Here’s how to optimize it: Add a link in the cover image description to your freebie, email list, or product Include a short message for first-time visitors Make it super clear how they can stay connected with you This hidden gem is a great way to capture warm traffic right from the top of your page. 4. Post More Than You Think You Should I get it—we don’t want to sound repetitive. But most of your audience isn’t seeing your content the first time around (or even the third time). It didn’t happen overnight. I had to stay consistent with posting, learn SEO, and be patient with the process. But now? My blog works for me, even when I’m not working on it. If you’ve been feeling discouraged about your blog traffic lately, you’re not alone. In this episode of Creatives on Fire, I’m pulling back the curtain on what’s really happening with blog traffic in 2025—and giving you five smart strategies to take back control. How to Get More Blog Traffic I was originally going to cover a different topic this week, but after hearing so many creators talk about low traffic, broken platforms, and general burnout, I had to hit pause and share what I’ve personally been working through—and how I’m turning it around. Let’s talk about what matters, what doesn’t, and what you can actually do to get your blog traffic moving again. First: Don’t Fall for the Comparison Game It’s easy to feel lost when all the voices around you are saying different things. Google is broken, Pinterest is dead, Facebook is hiding links—it’s enough to make any blogger feel like giving up. But the truth is, numbers don’t lie. So that’s where I went—to my Google Analytics. When I compared my year-to-date stats from 2024 to 2025, here’s what I found: Sessions were down 20% Pageviews were down a shocking 50% Ouch. That was a wake-up call. But it also gave me clarity. Sessions are mostly out of my control. Pageviews? That’s on me. Sessions vs. Pageviews: What’s the Difference? If you’re not familiar with these terms: Sessions = Visitors arriving at your site (they showed up to the dance) Pageviews = The number of pages they visited (how many people they danced with) So while platforms control a lot of traffic volume (sessions), you control what happens once people land on your site. That’s where the pageviews come in—and that’s where you can make a huge impact. How to Improve Your Blog’s Page Speed Before diving into pageview tactics, I looked at what I could do to improve page speed, which still plays a huge role in search and user experience. Here’s what I did: Audited my plugins to remove outdated or unnecessary tools Replaced and optimized my image compression plugin (I now use , which found 1,200 images that needed more compression) Even small improvements to your blog’s speed can help platforms like Google and Pinterest want to send more traffic your way. 5 Smart Strategies to Increase Blog Pageviews Once I optimized the tech side, I moved on to what I could do to increase pageviews—the number that is in our control. These five strategies are what I’m actively working on now. 1. Restructure Your Blog for Simpler Navigation When readers land on your homepage or a post, can they immediately tell what you’re about and where to go next? Clear navigation, especially with buttons that lead to categories (like “See All Crafts” or “Browse Recipes”), is key. 2. Connect Your Orphan Posts Go find the blog posts that aren’t linked to anything else—SEO tools like Ahrefs can help. Either delete them if they don’t align with your brand, or link them meaningfully into related content to keep readers clicking. 3. Add Prompts to Explore More Think: “See all fall posts” or “Get more lemon dessert ideas.” Use bold call-to-action buttons early in your post to send them to your category or roundup pages. The more paths they can follow, the more pageviews you’ll get. 4. Include a ‘Start Here’ Block Toward the top of your post, include a reusable block that says “New here? Start here.” Link it to a curated welcome page with your top categories, opt-ins, and reader favorites. Help new visitors instantly know how to explore. 5. Introduce a Weekly or Ongoing Series Give readers a reason to keep coming back. It could be: A 5-week project like “5 Weeks to a Porch Makeover” A two-part post (before & after) A weekly roundup of your own posts, styled for Pinterest or seasonal trends You could even turn your weekly content into a newsletter hook: “Get this week’s top DIYs straight to your inbox!” The Bottom Line: Don’t Panic—Make a Plan If traffic is down, take a deep breath. Stop listening to the noise and go check your own analytics. Is it sessions? Pageviews? Once you know, you can act. And that’s powerful. Because blogging isn’t dead—but it is evolving. The key to making this work is consistency. You don’t need endless hours or a huge audience to start building a profitable blog—you need a plan, a routine, and the discipline to stick to it. Step One: Make a Plan The first step is to map out what each hour of your blogging week will look like. Break the work into five main buckets and assign one task to each weekday. Monday: Draft Your Post Spend your hour outlining and drafting your blog post inside WordPress. This includes doing keyword research and writing your SEO title and headers. Use AI to speed things up if you need to. Tuesday: Create the Content Use this hour to bring your content to life. Take step-by-step photos, shoot a video, bake the recipe, or go live with a related tutorial. This is your creation day. Wednesday: Assemble and Schedule the Post Now that you’ve drafted and created, pull everything together. Upload your images, polish your post, and schedule it to publish next week—so you're always ahead. Thursday: Schedule the Promotions Use this hour to create your Pinterest pins, schedule your social media posts, and write the email that will promote your post. Everything should be prepped for the following week. Friday: Record and Schedule Video Content Optional—but powerful. Use this time to record and schedule your reels, short-form videos, or YouTube content related to your blog post. Step Two: Make It Predictable The real secret? Make your blogging time non-negotiable. Pick a time each day that works best for your life (early mornings are gold!) and show up like it’s an appointment you can’t miss. Tips for staying consistent: Block your hour on your calendar Use a “Blogging” tab group to reduce distractions Work ahead, not behind Create muscle memory—same routine, same time every day Step Three: Make It a Priority You already know blogging can generate consistent income—ads, affiliate commissions, product sales, and email growth all stem from regular publishing. So ask yourself: If I knew this would work, would I make it a priority? Once you’ve made the decision to treat your blog like a business, it becomes easier to commit to the five hour framework. Over time, your one hour a day builds lasting success, and that boring, consistent effort becomes your biggest advantage. What If You Want to Blog More Than Once a Week? If you’re posting multiple times a week, just double the time. Two blog posts = two hours a day. But here’s the beauty of batching—your efficiency will skyrocket. Pull a Quote and Share It as Text on Social Media Find a powerful line or tip from your blog post and share it as plain text on a colorful background. This works great on Facebook, Instagram, and even in stories. Add the blog link in the first comment or the caption to drive traffic. 2. Turn Blog Graphics into a Social Carousel or Reel Take 5–10 graphics or photos from the blog post and create a quick-scroll carousel or a short video reel. This is perfect for Instagram or Facebook and helps breathe new life into your visuals. Bonus tip: Use a tool like Post Planner (linked below in the episode) to put your graphics on autopilot. 3. Facebook is Deleting Live Videos – This is What You Need to Do
Facebook recently announced that it will no longer store live video content indefinitely. Any new live videos will only be available for replay, download, or sharing for 30 days before being automatically deleted. If you have years’ worth of live video content, you’ll need to take action to save it before it’s gone for good. Why Facebook Is Removing Live Videos So why is Facebook making this change? While they haven’t provided an official reason, it’s likely tied to server space, platform updates, and a shift toward short-form video content like Reels. This is a crucial reminder that we are all operating on borrowed real estate when we create content on social media. Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and other platforms own the content we post, and they can change policies at any time. That’s why having a strategy to back up and repurpose content is essential for long-term success. Your Options for Saving Facebook Live Videos Facebook is providing three main options once you receive a notification about your live video content: Download immediately – Save videos directly to your device. Archive for 90 days – Keep access to your videos temporarily before making a final decision. Postpone deletion for six months – Get extra time to manage and transfer your content. How to Download Your Facebook Live Videos If you want to manually save your videos, follow these steps: Go to Meta Business Suite at . Navigate to Content and filter by Live Videos only. Click the three dots next to a video and select Download (SD or HD). For larger libraries, you may need external storage solutions like: Google Drive (free up to a certain limit) Dropbox (paid option) Amazon Photos (free for a limited amount of storage) An external hard drive for offline backup Automating the Process with Repurpose.io If downloading videos one by one sounds overwhelming, a third-party automation tool like Repurpose.io can do it for you. This tool: ✅ Automatically transfers Facebook Live videos to a storage location like Google Drive ✅ Removes watermarks for easy repurposing ✅ Allows you to republish content on other platforms Check out Repurpose.io . One big question remains: Will this impact Facebook video ad revenue? Previously, older videos could continue to generate ad income for creators. Now, without replays beyond 30 days, some creators may see a dip in revenue.
