Steve In The Raw
a solid podcast
info_outline #39 - My 30th Birthday 03/21/2017
#39 - My 30th Birthday Recorded on the 30th anniversary of my birth. Adam is back. Brian is back. It's like old times. It just feels right! We're in the kitchen at my house in Rockaway. There's plenty covered here. Is the new Girl Scout cookie flavor any good? Was the movie "Get Out" a nod to American slavery? Is Steve a jabroni? Press play and find out!
info_outline #38 - Universal Studios Primer 06/30/2016
#38 - Universal Studios Primer Over Christmas break, Brian and I had taken a three day vacation to Orlando for two days of Universal Studios and a day at Epcot and MGM. On this episode we talk about the trip and dish out plenty of "Pro Tips" on navigating these massive parks. There should be plenty here for you to nod along to if you're thinking about a future trip or have enjoyed it in the past.
info_outline #37 - Alone In Alaska 04/04/2016
#37 - Alone In Alaska Steve makes a return to the microphone, hopeful that he can get back on this podcast pony once and for all. It's just him on this episode where he talks about his recent decision to quit smoking (15 months!) and a couple other myriad topics. He asks that you please forgive a few extra "buts" and "ums" as he gets his brain back into podcast shape. Thanks!
info_outline #36 - We Drink Good Beer - Brian Casse 07/07/2015
#36 - We Drink Good Beer - Brian Casse God, I love beer. Nowadays there's increasingly more and more choices of what to drink. On this show I brought in Brian Casse who I can basically sum up as a beer journalist. He runs a beer blog (idrinkgoodbeer.com) and is constantly roaming the country trying to find and document the best suds around. Brian brought a few pints of choice stuff for us to drink as we talk about the craft beer industry and how beer is awesome in general. Crack a cold one and join us.
info_outline #35 - Not Your Basic Podcast-Lindsey and Chelsea Leifken! 07/01/2015
#35 - Not Your Basic Podcast-Lindsey and Chelsea Leifken! Steve In The Raw...and TWINS! Like that old Coor's Light commercial. Remember? It doesn't matter. Lindsey and Chelsea are not twins, but they are sisters and they both have blonde hair. In this episode we talk about how to be more positive and better yourself! We throw some hot button issues in the mix, and we have a farewell tribute to Adam who is no longer working on the show. Come for the banter, stay for the Sara McLachlan sing-along.
info_outline #34 - Rocky Mountain, High Terror 06/22/2015
#34 - Rocky Mountain, High Terror Hey everybody. I went on a "vacation" to Denver last weekend to see old friends and I got a little more than I bargained for. Through drinking and camping (in the legit wilderness) I definitely put myself through the ringer and in this episode, I recap all of that. A couple near-death experiences out in the rocky mountains will make you appreciate life. All that said, I can't wait to get back out there again. Place is a trip.
info_outline #31 - Peace 2 The Rap Gods 05/11/2015
#31 - Peace 2 The Rap Gods Last weekend I was at my buddy Matt Defranco's apartment to watch the Mayweather fight. Before the main event we did this podcast where we strictly discuss rap/hip hop. It's a love letter of sorts. It's all about the start of how we got into the music. A lot of talk about 90's and early 2000's hip hop, ya know, when rap was actually solid. We even listen to an "auditory collage" of favorite moments of old rap songs at the start of the episode to get us (you) pumped on the convo. Go on this trip straight through memory lane!
info_outline #30 - Hollywood Shuffle with Kevin Nelson 05/04/2015
#30 - Hollywood Shuffle with Kevin Nelson Kevin is an old friend of ours. When he was barely the legal drinking age he decided to pursue a career in acting and film. His first step in that endeavor was to move from New Jersey to Los Angeles and enroll in a film school there. Now, five years later, he visits Jersey and talks about his Hollywood journey and the trials and tribulations therein.
info_outline #28 - Pat Phelan 04/13/2015
#28 - Pat Phelan Hey gang, Steve here. The first podcast I got into was probably WTF with Marc Maron. Not only was I entertained and inspired by his interviews, but I felt a natural compulsion to do what he was doing. I've been doing my own podcast for a little while now and this particular episode really calls to mind the framework of any given WTF episode. It's not copying Maron's style, just an homage that is a product of said inspiration. I enjoyed talking to Pat here about what it's like for a young man to be teaching a high school english class. We also hashed out the greatest obsession in human history. Oh, and Pat plays a couple of his songs live in studio, and seriously, the guy is really good. Check out this link here if you don't believe me
info_outline #27 - SEASON 2 BEGINS 03/31/2015
#27 - SEASON 2 BEGINS It's been a while but fear not, listeners, Steve In The Raw is back and better than ever. This episode kicks off Season 2 with Steve and the boys, no special guests. It's basically Steve going over all of his dilemmas in life, figuring out whether or not he is a sociopath, and generally hoping that he IS a good guy who just wants people to be happy. Laugh, pity him, either way just enjoy!!
info_outline #26 - The Brothers McDan 11/29/2014
#26 - The Brothers McDan Steve returns home from his sojourn in Alaska to celebrate Thanksgiving AND do a podcast with Adam and Brian, the two people who with him comprise...THE BROTHERS MCDAN!! This is the start of the return of Steve In The Raw. Come, shake the rust off, hear how everybody's been doing and rejoice with the Springsteen karaoke at the end!
info_outline #25 - At Least We're Not Housebroken 09/09/2014
#25 - At Least We're Not Housebroken As you may or may not have noticed, Steve hasn't podcasted in a while. He is rusty. He has no game plan about what he wants to talk about. Brother Brian and Producer/Friend Adam are in the room. You'll find typical sleazy Steve in the Raw-type rants here but the gang also gets heartfelt as a reaction to some things that have happened recently and also to some things that are happening in the near future.
info_outline #24 - The KKK Took My Plan-B Away 07/03/2014
#24 - The KKK Took My Plan-B Away Perhaps the most volatile episode of SITR so far. Stef is back on the podcast with a little help from a friend. Does she get by? Mmmmm, yes and NO. The feminism begins to boil over at times while Steve does his best to keep it at bay and really only exacerbate the situation, repeatedly. I LOVE EVERYONE
info_outline #21 - My Big Fat Jewish Wedding 04/17/2014
#21 - My Big Fat Jewish Wedding Adam's prom date, Lauren Zangara, will be marrying an orthodox Jewish man next month. How did she break into this heavily guarded club? We talk about that, proms, and a John Travolta impression rears its head once again! Enjoy
info_outline #19 - Stef hates "Girls", Steve loves "likes". 03/18/2014
#19 - Stef hates "Girls", Steve loves "likes". Steve heads over to Stef LeoGrandes apartment to do some podcasting. Stef serves up buffalo chicken dip, coke zero, and her great laugh. Topics include Facebook, HBO's "Girls", mummified dead people who pay their bills, and what have you. Scarlett the roommate and Camino the dog also chime in.
info_outline #15 - Steve, Steve, and Oscar 02/05/2014
#15 - Steve, Steve, and Oscar With the Oscars looming, moonlighting film critic Steve Avigliano comes on the podcast to help Steve corroborate his opinions on the movies of 2013 as well as some favorites from the past (Eyes Wide Shut!). Among some of the topics covered: Oscar Predictions, talkative movie-goers, Christopher Nolan, and some TV thrown in for good measure. Enjoy.
info_outline #14 - First Date with Annie Weiss 01/29/2014
#14 - First Date with Annie Weiss Steve met Annie after a comedy show one night. After chatting with her for a few minutes he sheepishly asked, "Hey, if you're not busy, would you wanna maybe be on my podcast sometime?". She obliged and here it is, a talk with the New Jersey based comedian about her life, how she goes about her work, and women in comedy.
info_outline #13 - Best of B-Sides 1 01/09/2014
#13 - Best of B-Sides 1 Happy new year! 2014...Let's make this one count! SITR is ringing in the new year with an inside look at our first attempts at podcasting back in the summer of 2013. The following clips were pulled from recordings on July 10th and July 19th.
info_outline #12 - Dysfunctional Christmas 12/18/2013
#12 - Dysfunctional Christmas Matt Kuchta sits in. Adam begs and pleads for Steve to stay on the topic of Christmas, all to VARIED results. Steve's brother calls in to give him feedback on the Sean Moore episode. Tempers flare and things get heated, but just like any family Christmas gathering, things come together and everything ends up ok. Stay gold and happy holidays!!
info_outline #11 - Good Sean Moore 12/12/2013
#11 - Good Sean Moore Even with subject matter that can get pretty rough at times, this conversation is a breeze as Sean Moore lays out his path from a childhood tragedy to today, where he has found success in an unlikely (?) place. It has a longer than usual running time for "Steve in the Raw", but by the end of it you'll probably walk away a bit inspired.
info_outline #10 - 2013: A Year in Review 12/04/2013
#10 - 2013: A Year in Review It's just Steve and Adam again! After a Thanksgiving recap, they talk about the year that was 2013. What movies did they enjoy? Any good albums come out? Did Steve experience a resurgence in his "love" for rap music? And just who was the Dingleberry of the Year? It's all right here, in this episode.
