The Dad-Cast
The title of “Dad” is one of the most demanding out there. It means people depending on you to perform and provide every day. No calling in sick or taking days off. However, that doesn’t mean that you have to sacrifice your own life in order to provide. It’s our goal to show that being true to yourself and going after your own goals will not only make you more fulfilled in life but also become a better father, husband, and person for those around you.

We made it through the holidays in one piece. Took a couple weeks off to enjoy time with the family, and also to focus on a major decision i was faced with. I will touch more on that in a future episode. But i hope everyone had a great christmas, and new year. We welcomed two mini horses into the Naylor Household, and they have quickly become part of the family. Ryder has really taken to them and is a big help with taking care of them. Besides that todays episode is a quick catch up and i go over some big events that took pace over the holidays. Its hard to accept, but 2021 is almost over. Time goes by faster as you grow older, but once you have children time goes by in a blink of an eye. My daughters are growing up and every day they are becoming more of who they are meant to be. I recently went on a family trip and it got me thinking about what i want 2022 to look like. I always have been one to set certain goals for myself and this year is no different. But today i ask what are your goals? its a short episode on what you may want to do these next couple months before the new year hits. #90 | You Better Talk To Your wife First
Welcome back to the Dad-Cast. After a brief summary of my last two weeks and how our halloween was i get into todays subject. Communication! No relationship can work without it, and it definitely make sit very difficult to raise a family without it. I have been very fortunate and blessed in my life to have a wife that is easy to talk to and has a lost of the same values?morals that i have. Its not hard to live life as a couple without kids. You can basically do whatever you want whenever you want to do it. You can travel and shop and eat out regularly. However things really change when you have children. Politics never really had any bearing on my life before kids, but now that i am a father to two girls, every little thing makes me think of how it will affect my girls. Hannah and I have talks almost daily about our future, and how we want to raise our family. Some topics are easy, and others can be very difficult. But in order for us to survive and be good parents we need to have them and be honest about it no matter what feeling might be hurt at the time. So i urge everyone to talk to your husband/wife/partner and have those hard talks. You will be so much happier in the end. I hope you enjoy the episode and don’t forget to refer a friend and leave your rating and review. #89 | Time To Fight For Freedom
Im back with a solocast this week. Corey has a few other projects going on that are demanding his time so i am here to spread some love. Today is a very short and sweet message. its time to get loud. We have come to a point in our country that is very scary, and making the future very unsure. Ive been thing a lot lately about my family, our safety, and our freedom. Wondering what i can do to serve my community, and stand up for what i believe in. I laid out three very simple tasks that i think if we all start doing it will move us in the direction of ending these unconstitutional mandates, and laws. First is just saying no, no to masks, vaccine passports, and companies who push these rules. Second for those with kids in school, start being proactive about their education. Go to the PTA meetings, ready the books they are reading, make sure it aligns with your values. And third is be active in the community. Look online line when your city council meets, or when you have a town meeting. if able to run for office, even in your own neighborhood. We can no longer be silent if we want change, we must stand up. We hope you enjoy the episode and don’t forget to refer a friend and leave your rating and review. #88 | Time To Stand Uo For Your Children's Future
Parents!! Now is the time to stand up! I don’t think its any secret to anyone that the government its really overstepping their boundaries lately. And like me I’m sure many of you out there are okay with being put out, but when it comes to my children i have a zero tolerance policy. These last couple weeks our home state of California has released some new bills that directly deal with our children. They are coming after public, charter, and private schools. My daughter is not in school yet, but over the next year i will have to start deciding what direction she will be going. And tonights episode is a direct message to all parents that we need to stand up against things that go against our morals and values. We are at a very crucial time in our lives and the decisions we make today with shape our children future. Corey and I both are willing to be a little uncomfortable to take a stand and hope you will do the same, and i know that once you do you will realize how many people are going to stand with you. Never Back down and remember it is for our children future we stand against unjust rules. We hope you enjoy the episode and don’t forget to refer a friend and leave your rating and review. Oh man do we have a hard hitting episode today. Corey and I have been off the podcasting for a couple weeks, and it is because we were both at a point of exhaustion with our life it was actually physically affecting us. So we decided to take some time to rest and and enjoy some much needed family time. But today we are back and getting right into so hard hitting and political topics. we talk about current events, our views on emergency preparedness and just life in general. One thing that is missing from the world right now is Love and Compassion. We really send some time on this topic tonight and share a few personal stories about what we do in our every day lives. And we eave you on a final statement of treat people with the same love and respect that you yourself want to be treated with! #86 | Shut Up And Listen
Parenting is not an easy job. There is a reason there aren’t manuals for this. Every child is different and every household has their own values and ideals. One of the simplest, yet hardest, tasks is listening to your children. Especially at a young age its easy to just dismiss them and what they are saying. But when those thoughts com into your head try and empathize with them. Try and think what it feels like when someone doesn’t listen to you, or someone tells you to be quiet. Our children aren’t alway able to tell us their feelings, so we have to do even more to listen and really pay attention to hat they are trying to tell us. As we discuss very frequently on this podcast, you need to sacrifice for your kids, and not the other way around. Listen to your children, and pay attention to what they are saying, and show up daily. We hope you enjoy the episode and don’t forget to refer a friend and leave your rating and review. #85 | Children Will Tell You When They Are Ready
Welcome back to the Dad-Cast. Life with children is always busy, but every time you add more it gets even crazier. We start today but talking a little about our lives with new babies and trying to balance our time between all our children. Sometimes the guilt sets in because the new babies require so much more of our time, but it doesn’t mean you give up. I talk about how i have a new nighttime routine with Ryder so that way we can still have quality time together and i can still give attention to Sway. Corey also shares some of his strategies of parenting three kids and how his time is spent. We talk about how things are “Supposed” to happen and how it really is. Today our main topic of conversation was not listening to how its supposed to be, but listening to your child and moving when they are ready for it. Its important to let you children develop and become their own person, and thats were we help guide them. Its not our job to force them before they are ready, but to be there to help push when that day finally comes. Listen to you children, and pay attention to what they are saying, and showing you daily. We hope you enjoy the episode and don’t forget to refer a friend and leave your rating and review. #84 | Only Fans Is Easy Money
Wow! Today we definitely took a wild turn in our conversation. What started out a conversation about skydiving turned ion a full dive into the porn industry and Only Fans. Not in the way you may think though. We were talking about working and earning money and how some may see certain industries as “Easy Money.” Im sure that everyone has heard of only fans at this point in time, and not knowing much about it we talked about those who chose to put their body on display. But talking about how it may look like easy money, but it still takes a lot of work, and there is always a price to pay. But being a dad to 2 daughters it occurs to me that at some point in time my girls are going to have to make decisions about jobs and making money, and i won’t be there to make it with them. We started talking about how to best guide your children and the most important, in our eyes, thing you can do to help guide your children in the world. It sounds simple, but the single most important thing you can do is be there for your children. Not just physically, but playing teaching, reading, being there mentally and devoting your attention to them every day. a very fun and different conversation for us, but the message is always there. We hope you enjoy the episode and don’t forget to refer a friend and leave your rating and review. #80 | Are We Ready To Have A Baby
How is everyone doing? We took a week off last week due to life demands but are back again this week. Today we catch up a little bit and talk about the upcoming births of both of our daughters. We are both just weeks away from having our newest members added to the family and we are both very excited. We also cover regression in our children. Right now my daughter is going through a bad sleep regression. Having a very hard time falling asleep and then waking up multiple times a night every night of the week. It may seem bad, or like you are doing something wrong, but this is part of a child’s normal development. It may be hard, and it is for me some days, but we have to tell ourselves its only temporary and it will end. Its all part of the journey of being parents. Today also marks the start of a new mini series that we are bringing to every episode. We will be talking about Dad stuff for a little bit every episode. For our first episode what better topic than Beer. Most of us like to have a cold beer after a long day and Corey and I talk about a couple of our favorites, with a twist. You’ll have to let us know what you think about this new mini series we are doing. We hope you really enjoy todays episode. Please keep the questions and comments coming. #79 | Gender Roles Are Important To Your Family
This week we bring another topic that some may consider controversial. We are talking gender roles today. This is something we both believe in and also believe that they play a very important role in the family. Were not trying to argue if cooking and cleaning is the “Womans” job or not. We actually believe that the husband and wife should be working as a team on the house and the chores involved, but we are talking about what the actual teaching that a mom and dad can give that the other cannot. Sometimes life isn’t fair and a parent has to play both roles, but if it can be helped we believe that having both a man and woman in the house are the most beneficial aspects to a young childs life. We spend our time today going over what we feel and the biggest reasons why gender roles in the family are so important. We hope you really enjoy todays episode. #76 | What Is Your Relationship With Food
We all eat food every single day, and often without thinking much about it. But what does that show our children? Today we discuss our relationship with food. We all know what we “should and shouldn’t” eat, but do we actually live it and teach our family the importance of having a healthy relationship with food. We don’t just mean eating healthy foo, and staying away from processed food, but how we view food. at its purest form food is our fuel, but it can also be a coping, or comfort for us as well. Seems like we should all be experts by the time we are parents, but until i was a father i never though much of it. Today we share our views on food, and some of the tools we use with our families. Please keep the questions and comments coming. We love hearing from you all and look forward to answering more of you in the future. #74 | Don't Put Your Kid On A Leash
Are you the type of person that would leash up your child? Not something you may think about during your life, but we have all seen the parents walking around with their kid on a leash walking around town. Being parents we can sympathies with that thought, but in no way would we ever do that to our children. This brought up todays main question, what type of parent are you and how do you draw the line? We look at the leash as taking the easy way out of your job as a parent. Kids are tough, thats not a question, but how you handle them can determine a lot of their future character traits. We spend some time talking about how we treat our kids at home and in public, and how we both choose the draw the line when it comes to discipline. Please keep the questions and comments coming. #73 | Hoverboards Are Cool
Today we spend a lot of time talking kids. This is a family podcast after all, but we talk about how much fun hoverboards are, to beach days, to adding another child to our growing families. Parenting is not an easy task, and theres a reason its the hardest ob in the world. But Corey and I both agree that we wouldn’t want it any other way. There really is no way to explain to others without children exactly how amazing it is to be a dad. From seeing them speak their first words, to their first steps, and every milestone in between. We are both having our children this July only weeks apart, and we are getting really excited to start this next chapter. We kept todays really fun and lighthearted and hope you enjoy listening as much as we enjoy recording these episode for you. Please keep the questions and comments coming. We love hearing from you all and look forward to answering more of you in the future. We hope you enjoy the episode and don’t forget to refer a friend and leave your rating and review. #72 | Work hard And Know Your Worth
Today is a first for the Dad-Cast since corey has come on fun time. Today we had our first zoom chat. with our schedules growing and our time is more in demand is a decision we made to help us record, and free up a little more time that corey used to have to dedicate to to travel to my house. Also with this first we are officially starting a YouTube Channel as well. hopefully you guys will enjoy watching some of our episodes live as well as on podcast format. But today was really a catch up day for the two of us. It has been a few weeks since we last met and wanted to see what has been going on in each others lives. But towards the end of the episode we touch on a very strong and important subject. Knowing your worth and how to work hard towards an ultimate goal. So often today we hear about people wanting the reward before putting in the work. People expect to make 6 figures starting out and not having to struggle from the bottom up. We both have taken very different paths in our life and our current situations are an exact result of those choices. Hopefully this episode will get you thinking a little bit, and maybe start a conversation in your own family. Please keep the questions and comments coming. We love hearing from you all and look forward to answering more of you in the future. We hope you enjoy the episode and don’t forget to refer a friend and leave your rating and review. #71 | My Wife Has A Big Baby Announcement
Well today i have a special guest on. My wife Hannah Joins me for tonights episode. Corey was unable to make it to record, if you listened last week you’ll know his time is very limited lately. So i decided to bring Hannah on and she had a very big announcement to make. on top of being pregnant with our second child she talked about how we decided to have a home birth. Its not something we had every talked about in the past, and honestly if it weren’t for Covid we probably never would. But with everything going on we decided we would be more comfortable having our daughters birth in our own home. Hannah covers how she made that decision, and what our lives will look like the next few months getting ready for the birth. After making this decision i can honestly say i think every couple should at the very least look into this option if you are expecting in the near future. Please keep the questions and comments coming. We love hearing from you all and look forward to answering more of you in the future. We hope you enjoy the episode and don’t forget to refer a friend and leave your rating and review. #70 | You're More Influential Than You Think
Being a parent is not easy work. It takes lots of time, energy, patience, and love. Nothing is harder, but it is also the most rewarding thing that you will have in life. As parents we are constantly trying to do better and make sure we are being the best version of ourselves for our kids. What does that actually look like though. Today Corey and I dive into our own lives and what we implement to our own children. There is no set way on how to parent, but we both agree being present is the best way to accomplish raising our kids. Be honest with them, play with them, teach them, all smile ideas on their own, but when all put together will give you everlasting influence on your chid. you will stick with them long after they leave the house, and help shape their lives for as long as they live. Hopefully we open up some personal conversations and get you thinking of what you can do in your own life. Please keep the questions and comments coming. We love hearing from you all and look forward to answering more of you in the future. We hope you enjoy the episode and don’t forget to refer a friend and leave your rating and review. #68 | Never Offend Anyone....Ever
You Suck…No Offense! Okay seriously i don’t think you suck. but the second part of that sentence is something that people really need to hear. We live in a society where its all too common for people to get “offended” and make it everyones problem. One of the keys to happiness is to control your emotions, and reactions to the things people say and do. we have a responsibility to treat everyone with respect, but sometimes we make mistakes and can offend people. when this happens, instead of yelling at the person and calling them “something-phobic” or some other name, take a moment to breath and have a conversation. Most people don’t wake up looking for ways to offend and hurt people. But it is on you to not be offended by things people say or do. You can’t assume that they know your feelings or beliefs. Today we discuss this topic in depth and how as parents its our responsibility to teach our kids how to handle their feelings. Please know going into this we are only trying to give examples from our lives and do not attack anyone or anything on purpose, its just a podcast…Don’t Get Offended! Please keep the questions and comments coming. We love hearing from you all and look forward to answering more of you in the future. We hope you enjoy the episode and don’t forget to refer a friend and leave your rating and review. #67 | How Prepared Are You For Diaster
How prepared are you for when everything goes wrong? Some people are very prepared for the unknown and others haven’t ever even thought about it. Today we talk about this very topic and how we each approach this topic. It can be things as simple as having an evacuation plan in a disaster, or more involved with actual training from professionals in certain fields. No matter how you approach it, we feel it is our duty as men and fathers to make sure we take it seriously and pan for the future. We talk about training to fight, shoot guns, hunt, and survive and things we personally do in our our lives. It doesn’t mean it all has to feel like work either. Many of these activities can also provide bonding time with your wife, or children. Never be afraid to do something new, especially if it means the protection and well being of your family. Please keep the questions and comments coming. We love hearing from you all and look forward to answering more of you in the future. We hope you enjoy the episode and don’t forget to refer a friend and leave your rating and review. #66 | Men Can Be Pregnant Too
Can men really be pregnant? Well we believe so…at least by proxy. today corey and i talk about what its like living with pregnant wives and how our own bodies are changing. We tell some jokes, but really talk about what its like being a partner to a pregnant wife. the food, energy, and just fun of life. One thing we preach this episode is you can’t take it too serious. This is supposed to be a fun time in your life and you should both enjoy as much of it as you can. Please keep the questions and comments coming. We love hearing from you all and look forward to answering more of you in the future. We hope you enjoy the episode and don’t forget to refer a friend and leave your rating and review.
