SUPERMAN Review, Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) Phase 5, and AMC Theater Ads
On this episode of podcast, LOOK UP! In the sky! It's a bird...it's a plane...it's James Gunn's SUPERMAN! David Corenswet dons the red booty shorts and cape for yet another reinvention of DC's classic flying boy scout as he battles negativity, the memory of Henry Cavill, and Nicholas Hoult's devious Lex Luthor in a massive reinvention of the DC Universe (DCU). Rachel Brosnahan joins in as Lois Lane to round out a stellar cast in James Gunn's attempt to revitalize the superhero genre at the box office. Does it work? Listen and find out! Not only is DC Studios reinventing their entire slate, but the Marvel Cinematic Universe has just wrapped up their entire slate of films and TV shows from Phase 5 as they prepare to launch Phase 6 of the MCU later this month with The Fantastic Four: First Steps. So, what's the verdict? We debate all titles in Phase 5 and what our overall take is on this tumultuous time in Disney and Marvel's history. Also discussed on this week's podcast: AMC Theater ads have officially been added to the trailer reel, pushing start times back even further, so how frustrating is it as an audience member?
