Guarantees are based on the claims-paying ability of the issuing insurance company. Dividends are not guaranteed and are declared annually by the issuing insurance company’s board of directors. Any loans or withdrawals reduce the policy’s death benefits and cash values and affect the policy’s dividend and guarantees. Whole life insurance should be considered for its long-term value. #143- Investing in an Election Year-Archived Content
In this episode, Bryan Kuderna discusses investing in an election year. He provides an overview of the current political landscape and its potential impact on the stock market. Kuderna also explores the historical performance of the stock market during election years and highlights the influence of the Federal Reserve. He concludes by offering insights and considerations for investors in the coming months. Investors have seen positive returns in 20 out of 24 election years. The average election year return when a Republican wins the White House has been 15.3%, compared to 9% when a Democrat wins. Presidents seeking reelection often take actions to pump up the stock market, such as fiscal stimulus and pro-growth regulation. The Federal Reserve has been active in election years, with rate hikes or cuts occurring in every election year since 1980. A crashing stock market is challenging for a sitting president to win reelection. Investors should keep an eye on the stock market and consider the potential impact of political and economic factors in the coming months. *Stock Market Data Source: Morningstar / Ibbotson Associates. ** This material is for general information only and is not intended to provide specific advice or recommendations for any individual. #141- Picking The Right Insurance Carrier with Comdex Score
Host and Certified Financial Planner, Bryan Kuderna, discusses the importance of protection in personal finance and focuses on insurance and how to pick the right insurance carrier. He emphasizes the need to understand the language and terms of insurance contracts and the importance of planning for unexpected events. Bryan also highlights the difference between price and cost, and the role of quality and value in insurance decisions. He introduces the Comdex ranking as a tool to evaluate the credit worthiness of insurance carriers. Comdex is not a rating, but a composite of all ratings that a company has received from the major rating agencies (A.M. Best, Standard & Poor's, Moody's, and Fitch). Comdex percentile ranks the companies, on a scale of 1 to 100 (with 100 being the best). Ratings are as of 3.26.24 and are subject to change. This podcast is for informational purposes only.
