WHY SCHOOLS NEED TO CHANGE - A VOICE FOR CHILDREN “A VOICE FOR CHILDREN “ We are giving a platform to our younger voices, children and teenagers, sharing their thoughts on our mindfulness programs and books, plus the educational system. Asking them what type of school would they want to learn in? What would they like to see change in our world? Finding out what gifts they hold and why they feel they are here on this planet. We believe, as parents and educators, that we should strive to raise children with a voice and for them to be heard. Cyan and Caiden Thomas are the next generation of global citizens. Born and raised in Dubai to a Lebanese mother and South African father, the siblings were exposed to many cultures and perspectives from a young age. At the time of this interview, Cyan had just turned twelve years old, while her sister, Caiden, is nine. Their family has since relocated to Lebanon, which has not always been a normal experience for anyone, let alone young children to endure. Civil unrest, economic collapse and a tragic explosion, that will forever be a stain on global history, are not the usual memories for children to have. The sisters met Terri Allen through their mother, and Terri, in turn, introduced mindfulness into their daily lives, enabling Caiden and Cyan to not just cope but flourish in spite of the usual growing pains and larger surrounding issues. It is a struggle to stay conscious of these techniques for anyone, but by including it as a part of their lives from a young age allows the sisters to feel more confident about their future. Pure LOVE is all that matters Rev Leon Campbell has been the Director of the Agape Youth and Family Ministry at Agape International Spiritual Center since November 2004. Agape has one the largest spiritual youth communities in the country. The ministry services over 1,000 children per month. He has developed a comprehensive youth curriculum featuring original programming encompassing self-expression, creativity, spiritual practice, sacred rituals and service projects for youth of all ages. Rev Leon recently served as the Youth Program Director for the Mind valley University four week summer program in Pula Croatia. He established Agape’s first week-long eCamp. This one-of-a-kind Summer Youth Camp and Festival, located at Cedar Lake Camp in Big Bear, California, Rev. Leon established the Agape Youth and Family Artist in Residence program, a six to eight week workshop in which professional artists from the Los Angeles area offer instruction in a variety of creative modalities, culminating in a performance or exhibition. His work with youth education continues as the Co-Executive Director of the Agape CDF Freedom School, a summer literacy program that partners with the well-respected Children’s Defense Fund to engender a love of reading and healthy lifestyle habits in the children of our Los Angeles community. He co-partnered with CosmiKids, Inc. to establish national conferences on transformational parenting and teaching, recruiting leading edge speakers and facilitators on various subjects such as learning styles, educational innovations, autism and enlightened communication. Rev. Leon is the Director of the Inspired Authentic Men’s Ministry. Dr. Campbell received an honorary doctorate degree from the Agape University in honor of his years of service as a leader, spiritual practitioner and educator, as well as a member of one of the first classes of Agape ordained Rev. How Nature is a reflection of God Tim Blake was fascinated with photography from when he was a boy, watching his father take pictures with his Polaroid camera. He was so excited to see pictures somehow appear on white photo paper. Tim was soon taking his own pictures on the Polaroid. Since then, he had some camera to play with. Eventually, Tim discovered Nikon, and as he loved to be outside playing, he has continued to take photos of the outdoors. Tim remembers a dream he had as a boy seeing a picture on the wall, and as he kept looking at it, the picture started to come to life. Fast forward to not too long ago, Tim was getting a tour through the Palace of Fine Arts by his friends Dan and Bethany Shine, who had leased the space for their Innovation Hanger, attracting people with ideas where they could exchange information and display their innovation. That's where Tim discovered Aurasma, later called HP Reveal, and he knew then what he would do with it in his nature photography. Current day, the app Roar has taken the place of HP Reveal to create the same magic. So here we are, the dream come true with images coming to life for you where you find the images. You can see this in a book or on line, and in the digital book Imagery To Life in Apple Books, with its own wizardry of three touches to the showcased images showing a live scene. Imagery To Life has found its way into Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles. CHLA has a Distraction Therapy and Literally Healing program to help ease the angst of children undergoing treatments to improve their ill health conditions. Because Tim has grown to realize that the images coming to life in this book can create a sense of awe and wonder at the sights and sounds of nature and life around us as they come to life for kids. The healing power of nature has become a central theme in Tim’s work. Tim has also since created a reference web site on this at . Tim has expanded his imagery work to videography, where he merges living scenes with soundtracks by Tom Barabas, an amazing musical artist, courtesy of Soundings of the Planet. Tim is very fortunate to have met Terri Allen, a gifted intuitive and beautiful heart, who speaks through angelic connections to bring messages of calm and inspiration into Tim’s videography in the form of mindfulness moments and videos for meditation that are available on YouTube.
