The Secret Lives of Families
'The Secret Lives of Families' presents the real-life stories of people affected by gambling. These true stories explore the strong emotions that gambling evokes in families, who often try to keep it secret, going to great lengths and using varied strategies to hide what is really happening. The secrets and lies result from feelings of shame felt by both the gambler and their family, thus increasing the length and severity of the addiction. These podcasts are developed by Family Drug & Gambling Help (FDGH), which is a service of the Self Help Addiction Resource Centre (SHARC). FDGH provides a number of services for families across the state and has a helpline for families at 1300 660 068.
