Ep 70: Hullabaloo & Wool on Wheels
I'm chatting about my new design today, sharing a neat interview with you and drawing a winner for the gorgeous Zen Variations book from last week. HULLABALOO COWL - cowls have been a big part of my wardrobe this winter. They're easy to wear and soooooo cosy! There’s nothing quite like snuggling up in a squishy cowl to stay super cosy and ward off winter chills. is a long, chunky, reversible cowl that can be twisted twice around your neck to keep you snug as a bug, or worn as one long loop over your favourite jumper and jeans. Knitted in the round with aran-weight yarn, it knits up quickly so it’s finished in a flash. The over-sized cables flow effortlessly from the rib borders and they’re easy to master and fun to create. You can grab a discount on my new pattern for until Midnight, Sunday 14 August, with the code HULLABALOO. Enjoy! YARN I used 3 skeins of Hullabaloo Aran by (100% Australian Superwash Merino; 100g = 164yd/150m in colourway “Beach Stone Curlew”) or you could sub approx. 492yd/450m of aran-weight yarn. Hannah's yarn is such a plump, soft aran and I loved knitting with it. So much bounce. with the code Libby10. You'll love the colours! WOOL ON WHEELS This week I had the pleasure of sitting down with Julie from Wool on Wheels. She's taking a boot-load of gorgeous yarn around the North Island of New Zealand in October and hosting pop-up mini-yarn shows. What a fabulous idea! You can find more about Wool on Wheels on their website: and on Facebook: and Instagram: If you want to join the WINNER! We have a winner of the gorgeous Zen Variations book - is it you?! Ep 56: mood boards and making plans
Welcome to the Truly Myrtle podcast! In I'm chatting about my mood board, looking for a structure for my capsule wardrobe and I'm sharing some resources to figure out our style. Do you want a podcast link and show notes sent to your email box every week? Come and join the MOOD BOARD I mentioned - they are one of my favourites of the NZ native birds with such a glorious call. I really like - they're made from lovely art paper, come in packs of 2 and are very reasonable. I use the A4 size. FINDING STRUCTURE FOR YOUR CAPSULE The most well-known way to structure a capsule wardrobe is probably Thirty three items of clothing for 3 months. It sounds like a neat way to roll with the changing seasons. I'm drawn to the Sixteen items that can all mix and match to create 10 coordinated outfits. (Rochelle New) has been working on her #makenine for the last few years. Check out on instagram to see what nine items people are working on this year. FINDING YOUR STYLE I thoroughly enjoyed Carol Tuttle's course and learned a lot about myself. I discovered I'm a type 3 and it was liberating to hear my embarrassing quirks are very normal traits of a type 3 ;) Recently I've been following Stasia (Stay-sha) Savasuk from . Her enthusiasm is infectious and I really enjoy her layered, bouncy but feminine style. She runs courses to help you find your style too. Thanks for listening! Have a great weekend, Love Lib xxx

Ep 55: Capsule Wardrobe Adventure
This week on I'm drawing a winner for the gorgeous Samite yarn and chatting about my plans for my new capsule wardrobe adventure. My winter wardrobe is looking a little tired and tiny and it's time to inject some new life into it. I'm going back to basics and starting with a mood board and finding inspiration from things around me to create some fresh and interesting pieces that I'm excited to wear. Over the coming weeks and months I'll be talking about creating mood boards, finding inspiration, developing a style that you'll actually wear and share what I'm learning as I put together a few key sewn and knitted pieces for my winter wardrobe and experiment with new jewellery. I'd love you to join me on this adventure! Drop me an email or leave me a message here or on or and let me know if you're keen to join in. The more the merrier!
