Recently the governor of Tx signed into law that no abortions may occur after 6 weeks. Well most women don't find out that early unless they are trying to get pregnant and tracking everything. 

Law enforcement was a heavy topic last year. Everyone had their opinion on how things should be handled in certain situations. MOST people do not know the first thing about law enforcement and what it entails. They follow along with whatever narrative the media provides them. 

We often see posts shouting "Happy Father's Day!" to single mothers, but are they really doing the job of a father or are they doing the job of a mother alone? 

I wanted to do an episode on growing up biracial but realized that growing up is not where I noticed issues. It was not until adulthood and really moving away from home that I realized how much "black and white" there is in the world. It's not only in the sense of race, but we always think there is clear cut answers to things, and the reality is most things are complex.

Personal responsibility seems to be a characteristic that many lack and that I also, once lacked. I played the blame game for decisions I made that negatively impacted my life. It was always someone else's fault or an events fault for my poor decisions. 

In this episode I discuss the importance of allowing our children to take mental health days from school. If you notice me get a little choked up, I did because I am struggling with my daughter right now regarding her mental health and I feel lost. It is extremely difficult especially at a young age to know how to help them, but I am doing the best I can. So just know you are not alone! In this episode I have a friend share her weight loss journey, what helped her through, and her perspective on body positivity and society. It's important that we understand how important body positivity is but, also the impact of glorifying being unhealthy. 

With the new EO by President Biden transgender males/females have been the topic of many news outlets. As a mother of a daughter I share my perspective and feelings when it comes to athletics and bathroom usage as well as being a Veteran. However, what I realized in my research is that transgender men/women have been involved in all of these things prior to any EO and we were just never aware of it. This week's episode is HIGHLY controversial and definitely a sensitive subject. I want to encourage you to listen with an open mind and really think about what is being discussed. Have conversations with others who disagree with you and LISTEN to their perspective. Speak to those who may have had an abortion and their experience or someone who contemplated but changed their mind. It's all about communication. You don't have to agree but you should at least listen.

In this episode I discuss the dreaded question by kids to parents. "Why"? This may not be controversial to the general public but it can be among parents especially in the same household. I discuss why we should allow our children to ask questions and how it can teach them to think for themselves and make their own decisions based of knowledge. 

In this episode I discuss diversity and the importance of exposure to create acceptance and understanding. We don't have to agree in order to be respectful and accepting of the person alone. Conversation with our children and exposure to other cultures/ethnicities will create a world we can live in peacefully.
