Episode 120: Everything Everywhere All at Once (Audio Commentary)
We’ve been doing What’s New to Netflix for nine whole years, as we mentioned in our last show, so we do what we do every year! That’s right, we are doing a full-length commentary for a movie that’s on Netflix right now! This time it’s the wacky yet heartfelt multiverse of madness, also known as Everything Everywhere All at Once, starring Michelle Yeoh, Jamie Lee Curtis, Stephanie Hsu, Ke Huy Quan, and James Hong, from 2022, directed by Daniels. So, fire up Netflix and watch all of that silly sci-fi mayhem unfold while we also join in the fun! WARNING: This is not a typical episode of What’s New to Netflix. This is an audio commentary. This episode is meant to be listened to while you watch Everything Everywhere All at Once. Episode 119: X, The Catcher Was a Spy, Mea Culpa
What’s New to Netflix has been a podcast for nine years now! We talk on all of the new stuff coming to Netflix in March 2024, review three movies, and even talk a bit about Dune 2 in celebration! For the reviews, Ti West brings us a movie where a group of aspiring filmmakers shoot an adult film in rural Texas, but not before risking life and limb in X from 2022. Next, it’s the true story of baseball player turned government spy Mo Berg, played by Paul Rudd, in The Catcher Was a Spy from 2018. And then we watch Kelly Rowland uncover the truth about an infamous painter and her duplicitous husband in Tyler Perry’s Mea Culpa from 2024. All of this plus what it means to be a ninja in Beverly Hills, deciphering the MonsterVerse, the problem of too many comedians, unconventional biopics, those darn Young Royals, everything you can think of becoming a competition show, and a woman turns into a chicken nugget. got a suggestion for the show?: [email protected]

Episode 117: May December, The Super Mario Bros. Movie, Rebel Moon: Part One - A Child of Fire
It’s the first episode of 2024, and What’s New to Netflix celebrates the new year when we talk about our favorite and least-favorite titles that we reviewed last year! We also go over everything hitting Netflix in January, and *spoiler alert* it’s not too awesome. Later, we analyze the new Todd Haynes film, May December, from last month. Also, we give The Super Mario Bros. Movie a chance, but does it lean too heavily on nostalgia, or do we, when we spend most of the time speaking about the previous Mario Bros. film from 1993. And also from last year, Zack Snyder turned his would-be Star Wars movie into Rebel Moon: Part One - A Child of Fire, and it couldn’t be a more Zack Snyder film if it wanted to be. All of this plus Quentin Tarantino ripping off old movies, John Wick still going and going, Mamma Mia! having us wonder if Pierce Brosnan can sing, Kevin Hart getting a little serious, the ‘real world’ of the Floribama Shore, and we have started a campaign to get Netflix to #ReleasetheButtholeCut of Cats (2019)! got a suggestion for the show?: [email protected]

Episode 115: The Golden Child, Meg 2: The Trench, Small Soldiers
Forget What’s New to Netflix; it’s time for What’s New to Max! We are continuing on from last month’s accidental crossover episode, reviewing three films that are new to the streaming service, Max. However, we do go over all of the new titles coming to Netflix in November 2023 at the top of the episode. We start our review portion of the show by checking out the underrated Eddie Murphy adventure film, The Golden Child, from 1986. Then we join up with Jason Statham and his crew as they battle megalodons and a giant octopus in Meg 2: The Trench from 2023. And afterwards, we revisit the Joe Dante action comedy Small Soldiers from 1998. All of this plus movies you could buy at McDonalds, Netflix puts a spin on golf, the return of The Crown, Adam Sandler is a lizard, Squid Game is now a reality, and Christmas movies where they have to save Christmas from something or there will never be a Christmas ever again! got a suggestion for the show?: [email protected]

Episode 114: Arrival, Public Enemies, Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues
We’re back with a new name, What’s New to Netflix, and an accidental crossover episode this time around, where we go through all of the new titles coming to Max in October 2023 instead of Netflix. Feeling confused? Don’t worry, so were we, but we’re seeing this through, as this will be part one of a two-episode special that will be all about stuff coming to Max. Then we review some stuff that’s actually on Netflix when we take a look at the philosophical sci-fi alien film Arrival from 2016, starring Amy Adams and Jeremy Renner, directed by Denis Villeneuve. Afterwards, Johnny Depp plays John Dillinger in the gritty historical crime drama Public Enemies from 2009, directed by Michael Mann. And finally, we talk about Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues from 2013, with Will Ferrel reprising his role as Ron Burgundy, directed by Adam McKay. All of this plus, like we mentioned, we totally goofed up and went over everything coming to Max instead of Netflix! What a way to start our new rebranded podcast! Hopefully, if we do something like this again in the future, it will be intentional. But we still think this will be a cool treat for all of you, and if it isn’t, let us know! got a suggestion for the show?: [email protected]
