Today on the podcast we have Angeliqua Mcnair, Founder of Melanin on Wall Street. Angeliqua grew up in New York City and was introduced to creativity at an early age. Early exposure to the art world, had such a profound influence on her, and would later shape her early career. She launched her first business The Fashionprenuer while obtaining her bachelor’s in Fashion Marketing and Management. Angeliqua was on a mission to help fellow fashion entrepreneurs with her expert branding and consulting services. Strategic planning and building solid fashion connections were both key elements that pivoted her brand. Angeliqua’s high fashion street style landed her numerous features on style blogs like Fashion Bomb Daily. The enjoyment and passion for fashion would soon fade. The reality of feeling undervalued and stressed out as a marketing manager guided her into a brand-new industry. Today, as the Founder of Melanin on Wall Street, Angeliqua is closing million-dollar real estate deals, and put her student hat back on and, enrolled into law school. Her mission for her organization, Melanin on Wall Street, is to change the face of corporate America. Angeliqua was so proud to be on wall street but realized, there was a large deficit in the amount of black, and brown women. Like many industries in corporate America, it’s dominated by the Caucasian male. Melanin on Wall Street is an organization that was created as a solution to the lack of diversity on Wall Street, and in corporate America. Melanin on Wall Street, is a power circle of professional career women of color that are changing the face of corporate America one melanin queen at a time.
