Episode 131: "You're Given a 99% Chance of Death, What Now?" with Ethan Poetic In this episode, Ethan Poetic and I talk about his brush with death after a car accident, with an 18-wheeler tractor-trailer, left him with a 99% chance of death! Waking up was a miracle that led to a long healing journey where he learned patience and resilience. Ethan also shares his experience with survivors’ guilt as two people that were in the accident with him did not survive… Ethan A. Poetic is a native of Coatesville, Pa, moving to Lancaster, Pa in the middle of his eighth-grade year. On Saturday March 19th, 2011, He was involved in a serious near-fatal car accident with a tractor-trailer 18-wheeler where he was given a 99% chance of death. Ethan graduated from J.P. McCaskey High School, Harrisburg Area Community College with an associate degree, & Millersville University with a bachelor’s degree in Speech Communications minor broadcasting & media. He received two Pennsylvania Commonwealth Citations, a Proclamation declaration Citation from the Lancaster City Mayor & Council Members. Ethan was Featured in several newspaper articles, TV shows, on the Radio & honored with the Award of Excellences at the State Capital Complex of Harrisburg, Pa. Ethan is the CEO & Founder of Ethan A. Poetic, LLC to empower people towards overcoming their adversities & hardships. He's currently a keynote speaker, life coach, walking-living miracle, Two-time college graduate, & a Self-Published Author of his autobiography titled "The Inspirational Story of Ethan A. Episode 127: "You're Alone, What Now?" with Doug Lawrence In this episode, Doug Lawrence and I talk about his experience of mental health issues, alcoholism, and PTSD that led him to a place where unbeknownst to him his wife almost left with their children… He was able to course correct his behavior before he ultimately lost her to cancer. Doug Lawrence is the founder of TalentC® and Co-founder of the International Mentoring Community(IMC). Doug has achieved the highest level of Mentoring certification – The Certificate of Practice - Journey Mentor (IMC). Currently, he alone holds this certification. Serving as a Staff Sargent in the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) for 25 years, Doug retired in 1999. He is a volunteer mentor with the Sir Richard Branson Entrepreneur Program in the Caribbean and with the American Corporate Partners in the United States working with military personnel in their transition from military life to civilian life. Doug, through research, has determined that there is a role for mentoring as a support for those struggling with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). His experience in law enforcement coupled with working with people suffering from PTSD has afforded him a unique view of mentoring and mental health. In addition, Doug’s mentoring practice utilizes Effective Mentoring Processes, his system to help people on their mental health healing journey. Doug works with people who are struggling with their healing journey. Doug lost his wife, Debra to cancer in 2021 and has since devoted his life to helping others with their healing journey. Doug began his Mentoring Practice in 2009. He is an international speaker, mentor, and international best-selling author: “The Gift of Mentoring” (2014), “You Are Not Alone” (2022), and is launching “The Silent Pandemic in 2024/2025. Linda shares her love for her career that ended way sooner than she had wanted and how she had to pivot in her thinking of how she would earn a living, keep her house, and bring a service to others that she had not considered before. Originally from Syracuse, New York, Linda Strader moved to Prescott, Arizona with her family in 1972. In 1976, she became one of the first women hired on a U.S. Forest Service fire crew. Summers of Fire: A Memoir of Adventure, Love and Courage, was released on May 1st, 2018 by Bedazzled Ink Publishing. The prequel to Summers of Fire, Uprooted: A New Life In The Arizona Sun, was released by Bedazzled Ink Publishing on December 1st, 2021. Linda holds two degrees: a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture, and a Master’s in Planning from the University of Arizona. In addition to writing, she is a landscape architect, certified arborist, and watercolor artist. She currently lives in the same area where her Forest Service career began. Love is not about how you feel, it is how you can help others feel. Paul Zolman - The author of love is God. In His wisdom, He placed us in a variety of circumstances that require us to find our way back to His pure love. So, what qualifies Paul Zolman to speak about love? His childhood experience of the opposite of love. From that austere beginning, and the distaste it formed inside him, he searched for and eventually created a method that transformed his life from anger to loving everyone. Growing up in a family of abuse, physical touch became his preferred love style, only because of the regularity. He could almost count on it. It was consistent. He came to think that was the way to express love. But deep inside, he knew that was a twisted belief. He wanted a better life for himself, which is why he created a paradigm shift that works. Risha shares the changes she had to make in her life in order to make room for the hopes and dreams she had for herself as well as the example she wanted to be for her kids. Risha Walden is the Principal Creative and Founder of Walden Interiors, a full-service Interior Design firm focused on Vegan Design. Walden Interiors helps their clients transform their space to meet the changes in their lives whether it is an empty nester looking to downsize or newlyweds starting a family. No stranger to life transitions, Risha has a depth of comprehension and understanding of how life can change and uses her experience to create a client’s manifestation of their dreams. Using non-animal products, Risha shows that design can be as beautiful and detailed without cruelty. Risha believes that one’s home should express the life one wants to live. Risha is the mother of three very independent young adults who enjoy traveling and cooking together. Risha was born in Vancouver, Canada and is now settled in New Jersey. Her goal is to bring an awareness of design’s reliance on animal products and how there are many options available that allow for alternative cruelty-free choices without compromising beauty.
