LIVING ON PARR
An introduction to our host, Lindsay Groot. As a registered nurse and passionate advocate for genetic fairness, Lindsay also spends her time raising children and working on their family farm using sustainable and regenerative farm practices to improve our food system - and earth - from the ground up! Lindsay opens up about living as a farmwife and mother, homesteading and what it's like at risk for a fatal brain disease, battling the choice to be diagnosed and how to move forward with family planning. Meanwhile, an entrepreneur on their family farm Wholesome Pastures, working as a registered nurse in a rural Emergency Department, public health and dental surgery she navigates the balance of her various roles. From chairing the most profitable charity hike across the country to building their farm business, her experience and well rounded perspectives are medically, holistically and environmentally informed often seeking simplicity in explanation and solution.
PET SHOP CONFIDENTIAL PRESENTS
Pet Shop Confidential consists of 3 knuckleheads who thought animal podcasts could not only be informative, they could be fun. We are by no means “experts” and anything we say should be taken with a grain of salt (and a shot of whiskey). Look, we love animals, and have over 40 combined years of experience in the pet industry, so anything we say is either from experience or from the heart. So sit back, mix yourself a drink (we sure did) and let’s have a little fun together. And if we all learn something along the way, well… Isn’t that what really matters? The answer, is no.
